  1. Most pictures of japanese cars, I see the 432 style is mostly common from pictures Ive seen of Japanese cars, for the emblem placement on them. I know this is probably useless info, but just something interesting =). I know the victory spoiler is an american made part, so obviously they won't have access to it over there.
  2. There is a reason nobody has done it before.
  3. I was too broke to consider these, someone already scooped them up. But they would have for sure paid for themselves if someone where to reproduce them . =) http://www.ebay.com/itm/310761089547?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  4. ANy thought on chopping some generic Ebay bars? http://www.ebay.com/itm/89-94-Nissan-240SX-S13-3-PCS-Strut-Bar-Aluminum-GM-FU-RU-RL-Combo-Full-Kit-Set-/170886313492?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3A240SX&hash=item27c99e3614&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/CIVIC-CRX-INTEGRA-GOLF-240SX-S13-C-PILLAR-BAR-ALUMINUM-/121133584402?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c341fd012&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/96-00-Honda-Civic-C-Pillar-Strut-Tower-Tie-Arm-Bars-Kit-/320706354315?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ACivic&hash=item4aab969c8b&vxp=mtr Chop them to whatever length, the tube will need to be re-threaded .cut the mounts down and weld them. When I get a Z, i want to look into doing that way. Should be easy to re thread the aluminum. Hopefully the mounts are steel.
  5. i actually bought a few parts, can't pass up good deals! Your car looks great btw =)
  6. I got the atara wheels too, but the staggered set with 15x9 and 15x10.5. Yours is the first Z I've seen sitting on them,. I dont have a Z yet, just planing things. I hope the 15x9s fit those standard flares better up front. Rear should look good with a drop.
  7. I tried to reply to the thread lastnight but the server pooped out. The G nose lens isn't too hard. Heat up the lens in oven, fold over and clamp, and trim. I used lexan as suggested by a friend, but cheaper acrylic plexiglass would have done better I think . I should have used more heat, as my lens tends to want to flatten out when not secured. But I think acrylic would have been easier to work with. There are no hard bends in G nose lense, just curved. Ive tried rubber chrome trim, but that does not curve very well (it wrinkles pretty badly. ) I would be willing to send you the headlight buckets, but mine are solid, unless I cut them out. Maybe I can in a few weeks when I get the cash. But I also got a friend who has the multi piece G nose, if maybe I can see if he is willing to send them . Here is a real one, for motivation =) I would think the thickness of the metal rings would be the same as the standard non-G nose, so I am assuming your fabricator could just use the headlight buckets as basis to extending the current rings.
  8. I keep watch on this thread because it is almost my only hope for G nose covers without paying a million dollars from japan. lol
  9. Looks good. What tool did you use to cut your adapter plate? I got some thick steel laying around. In case i save my rx7 fc calipers, i wouldnt mind trying to make adapters for them.
  10. very nice! I am a fan of pbm. I like how they still develop parts for the FC Rx7. Too bad though about no desire for S30 parts. I would assume the potential amount of actual people willing to buy their FC parts would be about the same size of people for S30 parts. From my ownership of an fc, most of the FC community is broke $$ , only the handful of track guys would spend the cash lol Any perticular reason why you went with adapting z32 pbm coilovers over mckinny/megans? You could still get the megans re-valved to perform better and upgrade springs http://rallyracingsuspension.com/page12.html But i suppose that would be more costly.
  11. Hope that helps. Most of the pictures I save are of G nose and flared Zs.
  12. RB26powered, that is temping. I would be down to buy them spacers, but I gotta check my funds. Miles, i currently don't have a Z yet, but I just like to do research and plan ahead. Wanting pre-75 S30. I suppose non-vented earlier toyota 4x4 calipers with fresh Z rotors would be good too (wouldn't need spacer), just kinda desire the vented rotors since all my cars have had vented rotors. Heat dissipation is greatly appreciated when canyon carving where braking is required alot.
  13. I just been doing some research on this setup, and seen everything mention the Modern Motorsports machined spacer for use. Now I take it that modern motorsports is no more , so what else is out there? I found this picture on a google search where the person mentioned grade 8 bolts and washers. How durable would that setup be? If everything is torqued to spec, shouldn't be an issue right?
  14. I think body swap should come from a car that typically has no performance potential in the first place , than it would be really cool. S30z is already a capable chassis to being fast, look at kunis30z http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYpL1BrCGQI http://minkara.carview.co.jp/en/userid/357364/car/261119/profile.aspx
  15. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/7AD1/50-1612 Obviously my thoughts are to trim the air dam to fit the G nose, that is if it was originally a copy of the factory works G nose lip just made to fit the stock- non G nose fascia. What do you guys think? Surely someone has this air dam that can provide close up pictures? I know zccjdm makes a direct G nose lip, but I don't want to be looking at spending over $400 if I will be going for the chopped look like alot of the jdm cars do it. http://www.zccjdm.com/catalog.php/azcarbum/dt46936/pd1993603/G_NOSE__240ZG__JDM_AIRDAM Jdm cars below with the chopped sides. This is the look I want to do with the air dam. Alot of jdm guys run that factory works style lip chopped. But there are a few full on . Another thought would be just to fabricate a styled air dam, but I don't know where to start with that.
  16. Thanks for your response, glad to see you are still around on this project. I am interested in a set for G nose, i know you probably haven't got a set of G nose rings yet. I would mail you my headlight buckets, but mine are 1 piece molded unless I chop it. https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/s720x720/318186_10151364015998557_174214903_n.jpg The lense for g nose is the easy part https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/377749_10151365127703557_2084727509_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/s720x720/734951_10151365281418557_720817300_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/s720x720/64833_10151386514653557_911921266_n.jpg I got a buddy who also needs a set for G nose, if that would help to mail the buckets to your fabricator?
  17. i was there too looking at that car, I liked the vg swap.. but i was mainly at the show for the girls lol
  18. Been dreaming about getting a Z soon, will be my daily driver slash project car. Gotta have a decent stereo (not for competition audio, but just personal enjoyment)... I think some sound dampening treatment would be great. Now Im not sure if paints offer any heat isolation?? What have some of you guys used? Seems to me that paint would be cheaper and a bit easier to apply sprayed through a spray gun . But maybe the mat has better properties. Thoughts and opinions welcomed.
  19. not bad. but i think you should of just went with regular auto paint, not much more effort imo.
  20. you can always get them rebuilt, upgrade the springs to better ones etc http://rallyracingsuspension.com/page12.html a friend of mine showed me a site where a guy rebuilt his, but he had a shop. Of course though this all adds up the cost. All my prior cars have ran japanese style coilovers, so I like the idea of ride height and spring load adjustment being separate. My rx7 has megan coilovers, well they came with the car, my 240sx I went with nothing but Tein (I trust japanese companies more than chinese) , so the megans I am not too crazy about, but they do the job good for a street car with performance street driving. It is nice to be able to lift the car up and have the wheels static height go up with it (sorry i know this isn't a Z, my old s13) https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/165318_485695163556_2466790_n.jpg
  21. alot of the drifter guys build "bash bars" http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/i340/Garage_Life/DualBashbar.jpg http://dangdrifters.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/rear-bash-bar-lift-point.jpg They tuck in under the bodykits and suppport them. Ive seen a picture where a guy was standing on the fiberglass lip portion of the bodykit with the bash bar support underneath, generally the bodykit would break but the supports made it strong enough to stand on.
  22. Ive noticed alot of guys in Japan, just trim the flared edges off https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc3/892556_10151405235293557_565679952_o.jpg https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/550349_10151301455468557_79542582_n.jpg
  23. go s13 240sx rear subframe. It is practically the same design used in the skylines and Z32. It is good and has a huge aftermarket.
  24. I would be interested in G nose rings. I can make the lense no problem (its pretty easy since there isnt any hard bends). I also know a guy who would want a set , I will tell him about this thread. =) I would think the G nose rings would be easier to make since they don't have that 90 degree bend. If you don't have access to a G nose, i understand. Think you can give me a width measurement of your rings? Just so i can get an idea if i try to cut a ring out myself. I just can't figure out how i would cut it clean like that lol
