  1. Humm, guess I just looked like an *** then sorry but I hav'nt slept mutch last night, I'm a little slow today.
  2. What about the rest of the car, will it be for sale????
  3. What is so sad about that?
  4. The mechanical throttles from an 3 series 6cyl. bolt on directly to the intakes + the left and right side intakes are exactly the same with a cap on the opposit end of the throttle mounting plate, this engine is two 2.5 L6 thate shares the same crank, bmw treats both banks as separate 6cyl. engines.
  5. Magnaflux will show cracks but not distortion. The simplest way to check for an blown gasket is to start the car with the rad. cap off and check to see if there are anny bubbles in there, if yes, compression is making it's way in the cooling system and when you turn it off the vacuum inside the cylinder sucks coolant back in thus the white smoke.
  6. If you have an 240/60 you can graft in fraim rails from an 280 as they go further down the back of the car thus making the car stiffer.
  7. Hi, I'M a bit confused, as I'v read very different things in many places, did subarus ever got R180 and R200 or only the R160 Now, can the subaru housing fit in a Z or can the R160 fit in an 180 housing???? Is there an clsd available for subys or just the vlsd crap???? thanks. P.S.: I did use the search function but, I need confirmation on what i read cause, I'm all mixed up now.
  8. How about this, it's a little akward, but, does'nt look to bad and is definitely different. http://cgi.ebay.ca/Datsun-Z-Series-1972-240Z-383-STROKER-450-HP-VERY-FAST-THE-ZSTROKER_W0QQitemZ4644456445QQcategoryZ6187QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  9. another idea would be to take yor original dash, aplie small pices of foam over it and then blend it with bondo/dap/duratech then make an female mold out of it, this way, less sanding less materials involved + you get all of the original mounting point in exactly the right place. But, anyways, great job
  10. Well, this I can figure, I'm a mechanic but an primarily french speaking one. Thanks TNFZ so, DIZZY is just a nick name for DISTRIBUTOR if I understood correctly? I tought it was some kinde of electronic module like the ignitor or something.
  11. Well if you do decide to go this route anyways you could source some of the diodes fron another alternator.
  12. Hi everyone, I found a site the other day http://www.sonic.net/~kyle/cars.html witch takes you trough installing an 76-78 280Z dist. with an GM 4 pin ign. module so, I whent at it and ordered the dist. on e-bay but what I got is different than in Kyle's pics, mine has 2 pick-ups in it and the 4 wires that comes out are all blue instead of 2 black/white and 2 greens like it's mentioned in the write-up. + 2 of the wires splices together under the loom's protective sleeve, do I have the right unit, does this mean it comes from an automatic, can I still use it for this convertion??? thanks.
  13. I once tought about replacing the roof skin with Lexan, would make one hell of moon roof but, would have to figure out something to keep heat built-up in hot summer days.

    T-5????

Does anyone knows if an T-5 from any other car would fit, as many car makers uses this tranny?
  15. To nienberg.11 and 280zforce where the hell those turbos come from, can you imagine the amount of air these things can move, you could probabbly blow a sailed ship all the way to australia withaout leaving America with these.
  16. Doing something like that, I'd use a super charger to go with the turbo, like HKS did for the first gen. MR2 and there is a similar kit for the COOPER S but I don't know who makes it and they got pretty good nubers with that if I recall corectly. The thing in sutch complicated setups is first "extremely compressed air produces ALOT of heat (bigger intercooler)" and it requires alot of pipping thus increasing total system volume "LAG"
  17. Would you minde explaning a liitle further, reasons, facts, I'm on a steep learning curve right now and ask and read any info available, then I confirm or infirm by comparing with other sources, any info on what you just said would be helpfull. thanks
  18. Well, you got an hint there, might be your old module just raising the with flag after many years of good service. Hey, everybody needs to retire at one point or another. P.S.: Don't whant to sound stupid but, what does DIZZY means in thermes of electronics, is it some kind of "fuzzy logic crap" ?
  19. Well, I figured this was done allready. Hummm, I would even do this firstas the switch is the easyest component to get to inside the car. + as SPEEDER said, you test the whole circuit in one step. Nice tip. By the way SPEEDER, THAT is a damn nice looking car you have there.
  20. Would'nt the dirty switch cause BOTH light to be dim???? Just asking for better knowledge as "I" have never seen this case before.Thanks.
  21. Maybe but a few grammes of unsprung weight is way better than a pound or two of sprung weight no?
  22. Jeez guys, I feel the same way I think I'd feel if I was sitting in a room with a bunch of child molesters talking about there exploits.
  23. Well, I can't think of any V4 engines exept in old Honda interceptors from the 80's but, torque steer happens when you have some assymetric components in the drive line like unequal lenght axles in an front wheel drive or an iopen diff. where you would have a tire sticking more than the other. I personnaly never experienced real torque steer in an RWD exept maybe in my old man's duster drag car. So, what's up with that V4 kit and torque steer with an RWD 4cyl.
  24. You are looking for what exactly, CAR or ENGINE?
