  1. I want that skyline so baddly. but at 52 000$ CAN, ouch.
  2. ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!WOW!!!!!!!! Thanks, send you PM.
  3. For this, you need a small diesel circuit to start & shut off the car.I think it's to prevent from clogging injectors and sutch, you start the car on diesel, then you switch the valve to your vegetable oil system and when you shut the car off, you switch back to diesel to purge the lines of the vegetable oil.
  4. I was checking my options and it looks like (it's onlt a small picture though) a first gen. DSM blow off would just bolt on, am I right? That would be nice since I heard that these are verry good units.
  5. Well, that is good to know I'll go to bed a bit smarter tonight, I am a mechanic and I allways tought that it was to prevent iceing like for a carb. setup. Thanks.
  6. Wow, you are one nice guy Chris. I just removed the harness from the engin I got and split it all appart to remove what is'nt needed, you know, to ease up the process when doing diagnostics. This is just like a gift from heaven to me at this point, since the CD manual I got from e-bay is not verry clear. Thank you so verry mutch, for this and your tip you gave me about the intercooler on my tread.
  7. Thats what I tought. Would you happen to know of any OEM recirc. valve that would have a similar flange and would be either bolt on or easily adaptable. I ask this cause the RB I baught, had no MAF & BOV, I baught an MAF for a Q45 for cheap and'll have the computer reprog. Now need something to use for the bypass valve. I whant to keep the car fairly stock for now and just get nit running and learn it's behavior before cranking the performance knob. Thanks.
  8. Hey BMC/240zV8/undecided, when you do get an answer, let me know if it's not to mutch of a fuss for them, as I'v been thinking about changing the s for a Z at the end of my name. Thanks.
  9. That would be awesome RUNHAMMER, while we're at it, would you know of any other oem or cheap aftermarket BOV that fits bolt on but, easier to find on this side of the pond? Thanks.
  10. Thanks Hotimport, I'll take a look into those. I also tought about a custom one and came up with the same problem as you but, I tought about a solution, make a dummy cooler with heavy cardboard and cardboard tubes, send it to your fabricator so, he'll have dimentions to work with.

    Straight 8

Well, FYI, me and some friend found an 1949 buick roadmaster in nearby field, it was parked there, with permission, 10 years ago by some guy who refused an 5000$ offer 8 years ago but, never came back, we got the car off the farmer's hands thru a law we have here in Canada that states that if something has been on your land for more than 90 days, it's rightfully your's. To make this long storry shorter, here is MY tought about this. -The engine is verry long and it might be a tight fit for the rad. -The engine is has cast iron black & head, it's VERRY heavy -The long crank might have problems to manage heavy boosted horses. -What tranny will you use, my guess is, an addaptor of some kind will be needed to addapt something to it. -I know nothing about how mutch they balanced engins in this era. -I don't think it'd be able to rev. verry hard. All of those questions will be answered someday cause after evaluating what it costs to restore a car so it'll actually be worth something (even if the car is all match#'s and verry clean) we decided to do a modern "LeadSlead-hotrod" out of it. Guess what, we tought about boost too.
  12. What intercooler would be a good fit for the Z's nose and an stock "exept for 90mm Q45 TB & MAF" Rb25? I've tried the search option but, I think I'm just no good at it or being a french Canadian, I might have trouble choosing the right words. Thanks in advance to those who'll have the patience to answer.
  13. I don't know any numbers but I read something on a site about this subject and they said that the rb26 head flows mutch better then the rb25's. correct me if I'm wrong.
  14. Still, it sound like a very good idea.
  15. Nice write up, the only thing though is those black stripes here and there that are layered over the text. Keep us posted, I use to have one of those but, had to let it go due to lack of room and time. I'd really like to get another one sooner or later. Guess it sould be sooner than later cause there mus'nt be mutch of those still salvagable. You say you've seen a few here in Canada, were any of those near the provinces of Quebec or Ontario?
  16. I saw a guy once with a similar setup and what he did to cool the air/fuel charge was to use a water tank pressurised by boost and an boost actuated valve. When the boost would reach a preset point, the valve opens and send a spray of water via an injector in the intake.
  17. The tire rack is allways a good place to start, plus they come allready mounted, balanced and I think you get the lug nuts too, plus, you can have them shaved & heat cycled for a small fee, no that you need that in your situation but it's allways good to know. TheTireRack.com
  18. Sure, that's the way it's done in the real world, he just happens to live in the "get rich as fast as possible nomather who you screw up world" Wait a minute here, THAT IS the real world.
  19. As a BMW tech, I can tell you one thing, IF you can get in the BMW program, (do all it takes) you'll be set for a life time + you'll be milles ahead of any guy like me who get to BMW thinking that they know alot about electronics. At BMW they invest in YOU, spotting your skills and developping them to there fullest so, it's an always learning experience and IF you ever decide to go work elsewhere you'll know a great deal about electronic malfunctions. It's a great bet for your futur cause the cars are getting more & more sofisticated and so are the people who work on them. Good luck.
  20. I don't know about the U.S. of A. but here in Canada it's plain illegal to modify your seat belts in one way or another, if you have race harnesses, you must have you original belt for street use. + I'm pretty sure I'v read an article about the fact that having racing harnesses with no cage is as dangerous as a cage with a 3 point belt. I'v also had my share of rollovers (all people I know who had one, I happened to be with them) and in one particular incident, were the car skipped the road and landed on the roof in the ditch the roof was so bent inward that it broke the seat back on the driver side and if the guy who was driving had been strapped to the seat, he'd be dead. With the 3 point belt, the roof hited his head and pushed him towards the floor, he only got a few stitches on his forehead. My tought is, leave the racing harnesses for racing purposes. Then again, that's MY oppinion.
  21. I think there is litle bit more to it than that. Like suspension work, a lot of it and brake balance are among them. Ho yeah, skills to.
  22. Well, I'v read about that somewhere too but can't remember where. I do remember that the tranny is compatible and the head bolts right up. The block is heavier though, to witstand the high compression of the diesel stroke. Anyways, I'll try to find that site again and I'll send you the info.
  23. DSM stands for DiamondStarMotors wich is a result of Mitsu. & Chrysler having an affair wich gave birth to the Eclips, Laser, Talon tripplets. Humm, I start writing something, I get up, go grab a coke and some chips, finish my sentence hit enter and BOOM an identical answer to mine but, one step ahead.
  24. Allways liked the Jap. cars of the 70's & 80's. Old school project? I can smell it all the way up here in Canada.
  25. Then again, you are not putting it in an S13 so what I just said does'nt really apply exept for the power output thing.
