  1. Get yourself a timing light and tune your carbs, maybe even rebuild them. You might even be running too much pressure with the fuel pump.
  2. Another option would be to do redo the dash yourself. It is a very tedious process. Good luck with what you decide.
  3. It's easier to take the manifolds than removing the whole engine.
  4. I have a scale that does the same thing. I would like something that measure at least to the tenths of the gram.
  5. Who makes a graphite composite composite gasket for the L28?
  6. My trepidation with matching and lightening my rocker arms would be access to a more accurate scale than I have.
  7. CRC freeze off is a penetrating oil, in my experience, it works better than PB blaster.
  8. They'd be on the underside of the intake, don't surprised if they snap off. You might be able to prevent if you using a product like CRC freeze off.
  9. You don't have to remove the intake manifold and exhaust manifold to pull the head. However, it does make it easier. Yeah it is a pain in the butt. Although do you really want to run the engine like that? They do have a tool available to hold the timing chain in place. Also when removing the valves you should probably replace the valve seals, because they are probably 30+ years old anyways. You can use the Ford seals which have been documented on here that are made of better material and last a long time. It is up to you though, your engine and peace of mind not mine.
  10. I'm looking forward to the new IDX concept they have out versus the new Z concept.
  11. Hello, Im looking to get a fuel rail from you less cold start injector with gauge for the stock injector type. You can either reach me on here or my email joshua.clem@gmail.com
  12. Please google "manual conversion hybridz", it's very easy.
  13. Welcome to Hybridz! We are glad to have you here. There are plenty of people here more knowledgeable than I, but I am going to address a couple things... I was not made aware the made a radiator cooler, what do you mean exactly? Do you have a Z or a ZX(they are different!). I am assuming you have ZX since that is what it states in the title. Is it a manual transmission or an automatic transmission that you have now? Why would you go to carbs? Nostalgia? Power? Are you good with carbs? What are your big plans for this project? If it is a ZX then don't downgrade by switching to an older dizzy. Please help us help you. Lastly, please use GOOGLE SEARCH, read through a couple of the stickies and download the FSM http://www.xenons130.com/reference.html. Thank you for browsing hybridz! We are here to help, please enjoy.
  14. I'm not as experienced as most of the guys on here, heck I've had many abysmal failures because I forgot to check something. I promise you though it has all been covered, I have seen it. You would have a hard time tuning the stock system, You might want to check into megasquirt. Use google it's your friend.
  15. Looks good, I was thinking about that awhile back.
  16. Finally got some time to inspect the pump, I've got a genuine LD water pump.
  17. Good luck with finding the Tokico's then, might be a while before they come again or they may never come again at all.
  18. I've heard people say that sealing the floor, and putting the exhaust tip 2" past the back of the car has helped immensely with the exhaust fumes.
  19. I bought one of the LD pumps as well, I'll report back when I find out the verdict.
  20. I don't know much about carbs as I've never worked with them. However are you running too much or not enough pressure?
