  1. Guys, I am in for a set of rears when they become available... Regards, Mike
  2. How many degrees of overlap? If it is around 112*-114*, you'll be fine.
  3. With methanol, you'd be OK with 5-6 lbs of boost and 10:1 compression. On straight pump, you may have some detonation. You may also need some method of retarding your timing...
  4. Nice progress, keep up the good work
  5. Thanks for posting, very clean install
  6. Wheels/ tires look great With a 17 inch rim, it will be hard to make anything hook well. There just isn't enough give in the sidewall (it's too short)... so we do what we can with what we have...
  7. Cool, should have been a nice cool day for it in NC
  8. I believe they were on all 82-83 280zx non-turbo's, they may have also been on 81 non-turbos
  9. Very cool !! Did you offer to take him for a ride in your Z?
  10. Thank you to whomever cleaned up the HybridZ timeslip database!! It's nice going down the list and seeing all Z-cars
  11. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=122079
  12. Wayne, you'll love the 3.50's compared to the 4.11's in a turbo car!! That car IS beastly
  13. Yep, I run the DOT tires, as I drive the car 20 minutes to the track and back home and don't feel like carrying a jack, other wheels/tires, etc. I will continue with the DOT tires. I just bought a set of 4 Prostars from a Mustang guy and the rears have M/T ET Street 28x12.5x15 (probably too big and I'll probably end up selling them, but I'll trial fit them since they are coming with the wheels. I've run the M/T drag radials, and the best I could do with them was a 1.48 60'. I went to the ET Street and was able to get into the mid to high 1.3xx 60'. I like the 27x11.5x15 QTP's, I am going to see how the 28's fit (as I suspect they won't, but it will give me some idea of how the 27's would fit. I already know the 26x11.5's fit. JNJ - I'll see you guys there regardless RedEvilrps13 - 1" drop on the springs Dr Hunt - hope to see you all soon as well BRAAP - As for perfoprmance gains, I really haven't a number in mind, but am just looking forward to comparing the performance to the 76mm that I took off.I figure I was making just under 800 rwhp with the 76mm at 30 lbs of boost with the 100 shot of nitrous. I will gradually work my way toward 40 lbs of boost and run a 150 shot of nitrous before all is said and done, as I locate the next weak link Thanks all for the kind words and hopefully I'll have some results to go with the photos soon.
  14. Justin, I'll be running Weld Prostars and tire size is yet TBD, My choices are somewhat limited, as I'll be in the 26-27 inch tall diameter, but I'll be able to run a 15" rim, giving me a little more sidewall. As far as aero mods ... I have a couple of things I am considering front/rear spoilers and VG's, but it has been really stable to this point on the current setup. I'll have to wait to see how it is at 160+. Mike
  15. Hey Justin, The solid axle was going into the Z, but I decided to jump on the TTT rear end stuff. Now it is on Ebay... item #170195728116 .. along with some other stuff I am trying to convert to cash http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZgadwaw (shameless plug, but thanks for setting me up ) Jeff - DNI is still a possibility...just a distant one... I am doing what I can though I had to look at the pics again... the car in the garage next to the 240z is our 07 solar-orange 350z roadster. Tombarace14 - my cage is only good to 8.50's and I am not interested in adding any more bars to it. Legally, I'll be limited to that.
  16. I've been pretty quiet lately, but have a little progress to share. I suck at posting pics, so here the shots from my album here. Parachute mounted... http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=18606&size=big&cat=500&ppuser=7981 http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=18607&size=big&cat=500&ppuser=7981 http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=18610&size=big&cat=500&ppuser=7981 and in the business end... New 88mm turbo and 4" turbo outlet adapted to my current exhaust http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=18608&size=big&cat=500&ppuser=7981 http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=18609&size=big&cat=500&ppuser=7981 I still have my work cutout for me, as I am awaiting my TechnoToyTuning rearend setup, and have to install the new TEC III with the 4-bar MAP sensor and THEN see what it's capable of...
  17. Jeff, I'll have 2 more HRE's available (was using them as my rear drag wheels) in just a couple of days if you choose to stay with them... if you choose to sell the HRE's, please inform the new owner that I have 2 more, as well as a third NIB parts wheel which has a different offset from the other wheels. Tough choice to make, but I like the flare... just my .02
  18. Nice launch! Nothing wrong with 1.5xx 60's
  19. Jess is a nice girl... chatted w/ her last weekend at the dragstrip. Unfortunately, she damaged some valves on her last pass of the day (150,000 mile stock valves, so it was bound to happen).
  20. Not right now anyway... maybe when driving the auto get boring, but it hasn't yet... I guess I'd need one to run the Silver State with you someday though !
  21. I think you have to find a happy medium there somewhere with a manual shifted IRS.. If the rear is too soft, then it will just bottom out and your tire contact patch and axle geometry will be off. If the rear is too stiff, then it won't plant properly or even will unload between shifts...
