  1. Don't buy their turbos... 240hoke and others are using their intercoolers (how do you break one of those anyway?)... Anyhting that seems really simple like that nshould be OK... I would not buy the SSQV BOV from them. The real thing isn't much more. The turbo manfolds that are 321 stainless look decent. I'd still reinforce the turbo mounting on most of them though. they have about 4-5 different SR20 manifold choices for under $350!!!
  2. hmm..I may end up with two of those "SSautocrap" wastegates for my SBF build...HMM...They look identical!?!?!
  3. eh...same one. I decided that I'll pretty it up and run the same motor for a year or two until I build a single turbo SBF... Now I started thinking last night... Mike: You know that 1982 Maxima wagon we pulled that head from? I was thinking "what if I swap my L26 with the 4speed into one of those and made a little bit of a sleeper?" They already have a solid axle to hold plenty of power...mounting my motor would be a bolt-in affair, plus I'd have a dirt cheap DD so I don't have to deliver Pizza and put miles on my expensive(to me!) new truck... That would be pretty sweet!
  4. I know Z shells have been baked really hot to where everything was stripped off...but the car has to be STRIPPED of everything... I don't think it would be worth the effort of powdercoating if you are going to paint over it. Just get a tough epoxy primer or por-15 and that will be a lot stronger in the long run for a whole shell.
  5. hmm...so I guess y'all are the real deal then...except when it comes to front wheel drives... I still want to see the hood of that John Deere sticking out of a cloud of SMOKE...
  6. Could you do other colors too? That one in gunmetal or black would be SWEET! I don't know how hard it would be but it would be cool! I like that shade of red too!
  7. veritech-z is going to have a fit over this... We have asked for an art/concepts section before but it never really got any attention...
  8. I am guessing you used bleach there BRAAP. I've lit up my 265/75r15ers on my frontier that has 175hp...I even did a bit of a drift on a roundabout... I need the Z to be running so I don't hurt the truck that is NOT paid for yet... and BRAAP...you needed about another 2.5" of tire height on that 440 Z... Doing burnouts on doughnuts doesn't count... get some 26"ers like me for Fuzzy!
  9. I want to get one of those old datsun truck bodies and slap it on a frontier frame..that would be way cool. A/C and all!!
  10. I know about the two tone. It was good but I wasn't really able to get the shade of red that I wanted. The black is easier to wetsand because you can see more of the texture in the paint. One day when I get a real paint job after I build a custom lower body for the car out of aluminum it will be painted a dark, deep metallic red with some gloss black racing stripes. When I tried mixing the regal red with black I would get this color that was like chocolate. I don't want a brown car... If I had mixed safety red with black I think I would have gotten a better red that I was looking for. Right now I only care that it looks good from 50+ feet away.
  11. see...that bottom left one is EXACTLY what I had envisioned and done some sketches of... It keeps the stock bulge while adding cowl induction.
  12. A1 racing has something like what you are looking for in their catalog. It is a section that goes from 3" to 4" for about 8" long. It is made to go right behind the header of a CASCAR or similar circle track car. It's like $16 so it's cheap...
  13. Hey Justin, Are you going to paint that hood black or red? I think black would look cool. Here is a pic of my car when I had some red on there... I always wanted a Z hood with the hood bulge to stay about an inch or two above the level of the hood but then Darius did it...
  14. Probably not...I don't have the time. I'll clean them up and maybe do a little polish.
  15. NO! It IS your valve cover!!! something should be missing from your Z...lol
  16. that was awesome seeing it beat that mustang!!!!
  17. Mike did the valve cover for me last night!! THANKS!!! The valve cover has a powder clearcoat over the black... hey... I see a Z! slightly out of focus.. on the block:
  18. woohoo!!! I'll probably rattlecan the head flat black... The valve cover has a clearcoat over the black(if you can call it that)... slightly out of focus.. on the block:
  19. The Automatic Maxima I pulled my MN47 from had a square port exhaust manifold over the round port head...that's weird.
  20. Just stay with a clear light and make it green goo flowing through...THAT would be cool...
  21. our property/house value has gone from like $110k to over 250k... in 18 years... Not bad at all. Mario: You should think about these things... My Z will still look like crap when I get out of college but it will have one sweet drivetrain!!! Then I'll do the bodywork after college... $$$$$ 2manyZs: Yeah I was thinking of that. You would probably have add $10k-$15k to the house to have it finished... Max: Hmm.. I have delivered(I'm a pizza delivery guy) to a bunch of townhomes around here and they are selling right under $100k and the area is quickly growing. 3 new schools going in within 3 miles, shopping going in everywhere,..It's crazy. Davy: Cool. It's nice to have a professional chip in. Thanks for the tips! Structural problems are definitely big. I have seen houses that people built themselves and was really impressed. They had like 7 girls under 18 and one guy a little older than me. They had the foundation poured for them and that was it. This house was big too! 2 stories plus an attic and basement. Tyson: hmm... I'm not really in the mode to buy property but...great idea! I'm going to try and get a job this summer that pays better than $10-$12 hr...I think I am going to buy my own fabrication equipment and start doing stuff like intakes and headers....that way I can afford to start looking at property.
  22. 240zv8: Land is crazy here at my parent's house. I think it is something like $35k-$40k an acre and I am 20 miles from Atlanta. If you go about 50-75 miles out it gets down to like $7k and less if you look. Maybe I'll go take some carpentry classes at the local technical school where I got my welding diploma. I could take the classes during my long summer breaks from my 4 year college (which I am at for mechanical engineering)...
