  1. Yeah 2003z and I thought about that when we were pulling my maxima head from the wagon...it already has a solid axle(easily swapped out to a ford 8.8 or whatever, L28ET would be a straight bolt in affair, total sleeper! How an LD28ET??? running on biodiesel?
  2. That's awesome phil... I've taken out smaller turbo civics/neons and what not but they could not drive all that great...I held my own with a C5 vette and had him by half a fender all the way until he quit... I guess it is a hp/weight ratio thing... Phil has like double my power though
  3. Most stock cast pistons can take around 15psi before they pop.
  4. My Z is "olderthanme" Actually the day I bought my Z I was 15 and the car was 30...the next day I was no longer half the age of my car and turned 16. Many moons ago it seems...well over 1000 days with my Z...
  5. Very clean engine bays guys!!! I ran my wiring under the fender hidden just outboard of the cabin air vent tube thingy. On the passenger side I ran the wiring inside the cabin vent tube. Perfectly hidden from view. I am still running loomed wires in the engine bay but it is 80% less than stock and none along the frame rails.
  6. woohoo phil!!! that rocks!!!! now you need some more tire than a 14" wheel can hold...think 275 width tires...
  7. Just looked. Wacom CTE-430 "sapphire" is what my brother has... He has doodled with it a bit just doing random stuff... Like whatever the heck this is...some electric explosion or something. madewith good 'ol MS paint! He has a lower version of photoshop and has done some really sweet stuff with it! I've used it a couple times and it is only 5000x easier than a mouse!
  8. hey man... Just the fact that you, your dad, and friend had fun building the car is all that matters...You put your own hard labor into the car.
  9. That is sweet! I want to see how people graft on parts onto cars. Like you did with those sideskirts for Zr8ed...That stuff is the bomb!!! I am guessing the method is very similar. BTW My little(he's actually taller by a lot and I'm 6') brother got a tablet a few years ago and it works great! Just if he will let me borrow it when I leave for school tomorrow... I think my parents paid like $120 or so for it with some software...It is also pressure sensitive!! could you do this kin of stuff with the freeware "the Gimp" as I have that and it seems very similar.
  10. What I read about is that a company called "Spirit" I think built the L engine for Nissan and then shortly after Nissan bought them up. It may be well true that it was copied from a Mercedes engine.
  11. I think he means bleeding the system from the MC...I did that with my brakes and it worked really good. Mario can't bleed his from underneath because his Z is lowered 3" on the suspension and probably has smaller tires too so it is more like a 3.5" drop from stock. I have tires over an inch taller than stock and I can't fit my head under the car sideways...I have about 5" of ground clearance at the regular level. That is the benefit of coilovers though. You can lift the car up to above rally height in like 5 minutes. Just mark you normal threaded collar positions to be able to drop the car back exactly where it was.
  12. I did the ame as veritech but with a suspension spring compressor. Advance has an awesome tool loan out program. The deposit is usually a little more than the tool itself...
  13. That is a pretty dang cool header right thee buddy! Looks Rare!
  14. There are a couple guys here that have an extra L20a... I'd get some custom pistons, run a Maxima N47 head with 39-39.5cc chambers an run it at about 11:1 Is this motor for street, strip, road racing, bonnevile flats or what? I would not plan on using an E88 unless it is the one that is the same as the E31 240Z head. The 260Z E88 was pretty much the crappiest head other than having the biggest stock cam. If you want a Maxima N47 head I have one I'd let go of...shoot me a pm about that one.
  15. "403,332 miles on it" yeah right...I don't think a L6 can last that long without some sort of a mild rebuild. And look at all of the performance junk and no engine rebuild!!! Don't tell me that has a stock engine with 400,000 miles on it but it needs disc brakes. Now if it HAD some sort of turbo engine in there or hi compression motor and he just put the stocker back in I can see that but not that motor.
  16. Cygnusx1!!! I love those pics!!! I knew a guy that proposed to his GF while resting on the face of el Capitan(sp?) halfway up! Of course she said yes! here is my yosemitie pic...One of my parents took this one of me when we were there. (it's a scan)
  17. cool...I can't wait to see how your setup turns out Mario!! You can deliver pizza and make around $10-12 an hour but you put miles on your car. I delivered in my Z for a while but then I started brea..er..upgrading stuff.
  18. I saw a 280z once that looked worse than my car looks... He had a spook but half of it was cut out and an oil cooler was held on with sheet metal screws...It was probably the ugliest Z out there...Not even like it was from Mad max or anything. That Madmax stuff is cool but this was plain rigged...
  19. Mario...can't wait to see your setup!!! check this out... some dude's setup I found on zdriver.com (my old Z home before I knew about hybrid)
  20. My boss paid me to drive 5 miles and buy him copy of the new expansion that just came out since his copy did not come in the mail yesterday or today...He want's to play it TONIGHT!!! Good grief...
  21. look up the video of turbo meister's launch video...LOL!!! I have like 3.5-4" of sidewall on my 225/60r15 and I know it rolls around a LOT!!! I wonder how the wheel protector ledge like on dunlap 9000 series tires would help with this..
  22. That may be the hard part is finding one! You could easily recoup $150 on selling the MN47 head if it is gas or $350 or more if it was a diesel for the crank! The gas L24E block is pretty much trash but the LD one could be useful. Maybe I'll build my little brother a car out of this if he can pay me a couple hundred...
  23. If you got the 4x4 swap from MSA it should have included SS brake lines. I am using the MSA brake lines from that way overpriced dumb 4x4 swap "kit" they have...all it was was was unpainted calipers and SS lines... With the SS lines you no longer need the short metal tube as the SS lines go right from the frame over to the caliper. Watch out for the mounting angle and make sure it doesn't rub your tire when you turn the wheel all the way.
