  1. Hopefully, in the next two weeks I'll be getting a set of Wilwood calipers. These are going with my JSK brake upgrade that's been sitting in the bedroom floor for the last 3 months. I've pretty much narrowed it down to either the Forged Superlite Caliper or the Billet Forged Superlite Caliper. I was hopeing one of you guys with some real experince might help me make a decsion about which is the better caliper for my application. The car is used as my daily driver that I've drag raced a few times and thought some autocrossing or a track day might be nice in the future. http://www.behrents.com/Merchant2/4.19/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=BPW&Product_Code=WIL120-74xx-xx http://www.behrents.com/Merchant2/4.19/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=BPW&Product_Code=WIL120-5xxx-xx I couldn't get the tags to work on the screen so you'll have to copy and paste the links. Sorry. Also any suggestions for a good set of street pads?
  2. I like that idea. Also you can you a little Dialectric grease on the wire to help prevent spark from jumping out of it.
  3. I agree I think it should be placed a little down the line fron the manifold. One proublem though is that it would really only be venting from one or maybe two of the cylinders. Not the best idea. I like that it could really be ported nicely and then welded back up. I guess you could do that with a stock N. American model by cutting it and then welding it back together also. I know this was taked about awhile back but, anyone know of a manifold has been done like that?
  4. The P-90A with solid lifters is not well known but, is certainly documented here and on some other sites. The exhaust manifold is a new one to me. Looks like it would be great if you were going to port the manifold.
  5. What all changed between runs? Thats a big differnce.
  6. My friend has a WRX with 275 to the wheels and I beat him by 8 MPH in the 1/4. We were both surprised. Heck of a fun car though. Those AWD launches are neat.
  7. Honestly, I thought about that along time ago but, really that would be a nightmare when time can to do anything on the car. I would see about having R.R.E. bead my pipes or a good welder put some small beads on the end of them so your connections won't come off when shifting or running high boost.
  8. At this rate your dynoing atleast once a month so that shouldn't be a proublem. J/K Anyway, I think you'll be able to work through any weather changes without having to hit the dyno each time. Here in Texas it could be 80 or 90 degrees and then the next day be almost freezing when a cold front comes through. It's confusing to all of us as well as the car. Ofcourse two or three days later the temp will be back upto normal. I say get the Wideband and you'll have all ya need.
  9. Heres a great page that shows what Beading is. If you ask me this is very important to keeping the hoses together especially as the boost gets increased. Money very well spent. Nothing like tring to fit your pipes back together on the side of the road on a late night. Opps forgot to put the link on here. http://www.roadraceengineering.com/eclipsetech/icpipebead.htm
  10. Glad you got it to work right for you. I used to run one for several years and it worked good for me. I didn't add anything when you were asking about it since I couldn't really add any real facts other than how it effected my car. What I wanted to say here is that just like a manuel boost controller this thing will also be effected by weather tempature and so forth. So if you have it set one way for the summer it will need to be changed again when the weather changes. After you've used it for awhile you 'll be able to make adjustments very easy to what the weather is outside. Just wanted to put out an FYI
  11. Sorry to hear that! How are they done if you don't have a press in for a SBC? Obviously I've only been a L6 guy so far.
  12. looks like a good start. Any good details?
  13. Yes Napa has them but, only down to a certain size. I couldn't use them on my setup for the most part. 2" pipes with regular silicone hose couplers. They also have #705/1507 that are similar to t-bolt and the regular kind. Sort of a Hybrid Hose clamp if you will. These also work very good and can be found in more sizes. They may have t-bolt clamps in the size you need since I think your pipes are a little larger. Right? I have thier parts distrubution center not to far away from me and they always seems to have some for a good price. Don't buy them at the rice shops. If they guy behind the counter gives you the "what the he** look" then tell him he'll need to look in his clamp catalog. They should all have the catalog and should be able to order them if they do not have them in stock. You can also check with truck (18 wheelers) supply places.
  14. Kevin, Great find just an FYI to add to the post the inner bearing can be found at Autozone. Timkin part #203ff. I think they are under 5 bucks for the the beaing itself.
  15. The Indian Head stuff comes in a small bottle less than 2" tall I believe ( brown in color). Sorry I can't remember the exact information on it. I'll have to find the info and get back to you on it in the morning. I had seen it for years but, never thought about using it till I saw it on Brian Little's site (I think thats his name) Sorry about all the non specfics in this post.
  16. I used that Indian Head stuff that can be found almost anywhere that sells parts. Seems to work so far. Also the holes in the pan can somethimes become dimpled in towards the block from over tightening. If the pans is not flat along the bottom it may leak. Check yours if you haven't already and see if that may have been part of the proublem. It's easy to bend it while having to use a four foot crow bar to get it off the block after a few yeras of sealing on there. J/K
  17. No thanks, I'll pass on that action.
  18. Hurry up with the pictures. I've never seen a 3 peice turbo manifold. Is it factory like that?
  19. My wife always ask me how long I think something will take and then doubles it to get a real estimate. Glad to hear that it's working.
