  1. Lockjaw runs a L-28 crank with 240 rods, custom pistons and he said it reved like crazy.
  2. Ask the guys at Napa to give you the part # then call the bearing shop and see if they can convert it over to one of their #'s. By the way what brand were you quoted on from Napa? If all else fails let me know I just had mine rebuilt and the shop installed all new seals and I'm sure could get you what you need.
  3. That AP setup really looks nice and I'm sure will be very capable of stopping even the most powerful ZX's. I can't wait to get my JSK Wilwood setup on and and broken in so I can see what it'll do.
  4. I'm not sure if this has been posted before but, heres a good link for info on LSD's http://www.gordon-glasgow.org/lsdtech.html
  5. That was one of the awesomest things I've ever seen.
  6. Good question. I've been wondering the same thing. I would have to think that the answer is in the fact that they have been used in some very high stress enviroments and professional racing currently and in the past but, I'n not sure about drag racing.
  7. There are kits out by Moroso that you can hook up you valve cover breathers to a check valve and then to your exhaust. The high flow of exhaust when in full throttle creates a vacuum to pull from the valve cover breathers. Any oil or vapor get thrown into the exhaust. I'm sure some or almost all is burned up. Heres a look at the one I just bought. I'm sure Nismo has no affiliation with this seller but, I wanted one and this one looked good for the price. Most of the ones that I've seen go for about 100.00 plus. I also saw some on the web for 1.00. Very cheesy looking. Yes, I think a more consistant A/F ratio could be acheived by riding any oil or oil vapors from your intake. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7909601824&category=6763
  8. Ed- try running less than a 50/50 ratio something like 25/75 with Redline waterwetter. I'm running a new stock radiator and a large 16" puller fan and I don't have any proublem with mine. I also run a 180 Nissan thermostat and an oil cooler off an automatic turbo Z.
  9. I read an article once in Hot Rod that tested a vacuum pump on a 500 hp engine. In the test they picked up 16 HP with no other changes. I may have some of the facts off by a few HP but, you get the point. I believe that the system should be evacuated by whatever means but, if you have oil blow by it should be routed into a catch can. I just ordered a catch can off E-bay and I'll be rerouting my system soon to see if there is any difference in the amount of oil layer on the intake.
  10. I've had mine on for about 2 years or so and I've not had any proublems with them.
  11. Try Ross at http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/default.php he should be able to help you with anything you need to get it fixed up.
  12. Heres a pic of when I was fabricating the pipes. http://www.angelfire.com/space/nismo1turbo/Mock_up_of_BOV_and_intercooler_pipe.jpg Here's the link if the pic. didn't post. My pipes are 2" and I also have a 3" pipe for the air intake all coming through the left side of the radiator support. I can be done but, it's a tight fit.
  13. I've got KVR pads on mine and I've been very happy with them. If you haven't already make sure you completely flush your system of old brake fluid and use some high quality fluid to replace it.
  14. Better pads and braided lines will help out tremendously.
  15. No dought the Z06 is an increadable car but, the 240Z can still beat it and be a decent daily driver. Not that I'm in the low 12's or anything but, my best time of 12.9 and best MPH of 109 is not to far off the pace of the Z06 given the extra weight of the ZX and the crappy tires that I was running on. Slap a set of Corvette spec tires and a LSD that didn't have a zillion miles on it and I think a lower 12 second 1/4 could be achieved. Replace bushing, add coilovers, lighter rims and some more tuning could produce a car worthy of beating a Z06.
  16. Seat time will certainly bring your total height down some. I personally don't have a proublem but, my wife's hair used to tickle the t-top but, now it's no proublem.
  17. I've got set of Corbeau seats in mine also. After a few miles the seats will settle a little and not be so high. You'll still sit higher than the Z31's but, not to high. I've had mine for about 4 years now and they seem to be holding up well. Hope you enjoy them.
  18. Wow... Sounds like your descibing my car. I've got an 82ZXT with the mods you listed and it works out to be a great car for the street and not bad for the track aswell. You might think about doing some work with atleast the front brakes 350 HP in a 20 yr old ZXT makes for an intreasting ride and while the brakes are really pretty good any track time will smoke them fast. I still have the stock brakes with KVR pads and cross drilled rotors. You'll also need an aftermarket EFI system. I have the JWT setup and I'm very happy with it. I think your going in the right direction. Let us know how it's turning out. Talk a look at my web site to see some pics.
  19. Another question is how "stock" is stock? Any add ons such as better fuel pump?
  20. I use Ross's adapters aswell. Great service from Ross and the quality of the part is very good. For lug nuts I just bought some from him. You might want to install longer studs so the lug nut has more to bite down on. I did the rear of mine but, haven't gotten to the front yet.
  21. Sounds to me like your BOV is working perfectly and venting excess air into you clear hose the proublem is that your getting so much pressure build up in the hose that it is blowing off your connections. In my experience every place that there is a hose connection there must be a small ridge in the metal tube to make a mechanical obistical (sp) for the plastic or silicone hose to go over and the clamp to have something to help it hold onto the connection. Check out this link and you'll see what I'm talking about. http://www.roadraceengineering.com/eclipsetech/icpipebead.htm Also quality clamps make a big differnce also check these. http://www.roadraceengineering.com/hoseandclamps.htm The clamps are down at the bottom of the page and can also be found at Napa. The hardware store stuff can be made to work but, the stuff that is purpase built for this is much better and easier to use.
  22. In the first shot I thought it was two cars or something. Thats crazy!!
