  1. I agree, I dought he'll do it again for free but, I still can't figure out why he would paint something that was never painted to begin with. I had a radiator redone once and they didn't paint it or anything. Not only that Radiator paint is a special formula that is super thin. It's kinda like 1/2 paint -1/2 thinner. Atleast the radiator paint that I bought from Eastwood was. I'm not sure why but, it really irks me that he did that.
  2. That sucks. Maybe he can hot tank it again and get all the paint off of it for you. I'm sure it causeing some sort of effiency loss but, unless it's real thick I would dought it being huge.
  3. Looks good. Keep us updated on how it runs.
  4. Hey Jim, Sounds like you headed in the right direction so far. Hit the search button up on top of the screen. There is tons of great info on this topic. Let us know if you have a more specif question.
  5. From some of the replies to the post it sounds like none of us what anyone to film us "in action" while doing this job. All kinds of crazy positions are being brought up.
  6. The last time I did mine I had to do it by myself (no fun). One thing that helped me was that I bought a small transmissin jack. Mostly it helped to get it all lined up and ready to go in with out me having to wiggle it around. Not being the biggest guy I can't just belly flop it in there it's a really long bench press. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=39178
  7. I have mine in the stock location in my ZX. I'm running the MSA air dam which really doesn't provide a direct path for the air to reach the cooler. Even today which it's well over 100* here in "Big D" and after driving for an hour at 80 to 85 mph down hwy 20 with the air on. My oil temp only reached 215* and stablised (sp) which is well within the range of synthic oils. If I do that and then idle for awhile the oil temp will go up. What I'm saying is that the oil cooler will still get air flow as long as the car is moving. When sitting still it really doesn't matter if you have a direct air path since there is little or no air movent anyway.
  8. I love it when you beat someone so bad you have to pull over and ask them why they didn't race. They are usually amazed about how bad they are beaten but, the why didn't you race comment puts a funny look on there face.
  9. Good story, I'll add one that I have just so you don't feel bad. I used to work for a mega gaint corp. that is a big retailer in the country. Having said that I'll tell ya that they wanted everything done "NOW" not tommarow first thing, or as soon as possible, but, if you wanted to get anywhere in the company you did everything "NOW." Anyway, I was working late one night on a huge display that required us to use some short sections of steel rack to hold the upper section of merchandise. While I was up on top of this steel walking on boards that are barley secured I somehow lost my balance and when I went to grab the pole that I thought was in arm distance it was no where that I thought it was. So now I'm falling head first towards the ground off the 10' section of steel. As they say "I saw my life flash before my eyes." I guess it wasn't my day to get hurt because my pant leg got caught on a cut section of the upright. My pants tore from my knee area to the bottom section that keeps it all from coming apart. There I was dangling from the upright thinking how in the H*ll it I just do that? My boss had to come over and cut my pant leg off the upright while I lifted up on some stacked up pallets. Luckily I was totally unhurt other than my pride was slighty damaged.
  10. When was the last time you changed out the cap and rotor? All my ZX's have done what your descibing from time to time. Seems to me like it happens more when the ignition componets are less than new.
  11. That looks like a heavily modded version of the Motorsport front end.
  12. Heres a couple of pics of my system. I just got it installed today.
  13. I had mine lighted by Top End. I changed a zillion things when I put the clutch and flywheel on so I can't tell you exactly what effect it had. The machining looked good and the service wasn't bad. http://www.racetep.com/flywheel.html
  14. If you ask me the stock headgasket is the best if the deck surfaces are flat. I had a metal H.G. and it leaked right off the bat. Changed over to a stock H.G. and no proublem since. Why not use the ARP hardware again?
  15. I think the question is relevent to the thread so here goes. I got the information from Hybrid Z. Where else could I find such good info. Heres to links that I found from about a 1 1/2 years ago. http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=20415&highlight=turbo+oil+feed+line http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=16424&highlight=turbo+oil+feed+line I also talked to the guys at Majestic turbo and they verifed everything. So far so good.
  16. Yasin, Heres what I've got going on my set up. It just the stock bango fitting cut off and made into a new line after being clean in a strong solvent. he line cost me thirty bucks and seems to work fine so far. The size for the drill bit used in the restrictor is the next to smallest size in my drill bit set but, I can't remember the exact size.(sorry) http://www.angelfire.com/space/nismo1turbo/indexturbo.html
  17. Nice stance. Wonder how low you'll actually be able do drive with it.
  18. Dohhh... Now I see it. I was half asleep getting my morning dose of HybridZ. I guess my new rule is "no post till after breakfast." J/J
  19. I never seen a turbo ZX oil pan with that thing sticking out the side of the pan on the right side. Mine have always had just a tubing like section sticking out. What is that?
  20. I seen those, I always thought they were a popular aftermrket option. Needless to day if the car is going to be a race car of any sort then cutting the roof would be a very bad idea. If your into it for cruising on nice days then it's not so bad.
  21. I always try to talk to Bruce when I can. He seems to actually know whats going on.
  22. So what does a dealer installed sunroof look like? I always thought the best sunroof would be one of the ones like the late 80's RX7 had. Small but, looked real good while going down the road and sticking out the top.
  23. I really like this drawing! To me it looks like some of the tuner Porsche designs. I personally would add a chin spoiler to pick some extra air while at speed.
