  1. Pharmacist for 36 yrs. Own home infusion company, high risk o.b. company with offices in Texas & Florida, prosthetic (artifcial limbs) & orthotics company. Sold my private duty nursing company and closed shop pharmacy last yr. 100 employees or so (never know for sure). Almost ready to sell it all so I can work on the old cars!
  2. Not every business owner is in a cash business where you can hide the cash. Once you get to a certain size, you have everyone watching you, including your employees. They maybe your friends today, but fire one and you will see. It is best to honest upfront then to pay penalty and interest. They are severe, trust me. Also, if you are getting money back, it is only because you paid too much to begin with, unless you had a catastophic lost. It's your money and you gave the government a interest free loan. It absolutely amazes me when taxpayers purposely overpay their taxes so they can get a refund. Forced savings? Whoops, I need to get off my soap box.
  3. The seller jacked up the price so they could negotiate down. But in the end, I paid a fair price for the house. The seller had painted to hide the rot in columns in the front of house and other things. Don't chase the price of a house. Decide how much and stick to it. In CA the prices were ridiculous. The "greater fool" theory applies here. Good Luck!
  4. I think the price is $829 for 4 wheels or $207.25 per wheel, including lugs and adapters. At least that is what the legend on the bottom says. But, I agree with you about spending too much for wheels and tires. But hey, you can rent them!
  5. What did you order. Get it running yet?
  6. I am sure when you get everything just right, you should have NO problems marketing your motor mounts, info. Great looking swap so far. Good Luck on your marketing. I'll be one of your first customers.
  7. We had an engineer (EE) as a patient and he disassembled our i.v. pump. He was on parenteral nutrition (feeding thru the vein) and the bag of food comes with lengthy tubing. He attached one tubing to the end of the other and went to mow his lawn with the tubing dragging behind and his pump in the kitchen. He had enough tubing to go around the house. We had to have our nurse and his dr to talk to him at that.
  8. Congrats! I also got mine running today. Taking it to mechanic tomorrow to check the brakes then I can drive it. John
  9. I found a piece of gasket inside the needle seat, where it could not be seen. I guess I need to follow normal troubleshooting for an abnormal car. Thanks all. John
  10. Bought a '03 G35 Coupe Auto, traded it in for '04 350Z 6sp then traded that in for an '06 G35 Sedan for the wife. Like someone here said, anyone can drive a new car. Give me a S30.
  11. Anybody notice that this thread is over a yr. old from Dec, 2005?
  12. Jegs seems to be ok. I get parts in two days. But how much stuff can you order for a Datsun from Jegs? I probably have not spent more than $200 total in misc. parts. I appreciate everyone's input. John
  13. This is the dumbest I will admit to. At 18, I was building a 383 Coronet from an old city car with a slant 6 that I bought from a used car dealer (that was dumb). I put a 727 Torqueflite and bone yard motor and spent as much a 18yr old with a family grocery store had. After I got it working and fired up, I rev'ed it in gear with the car on jacks and I heard a loud noise from under the car. The rear tire don't turn anymore. I just knew it was the transmission, so without any other diagnosis, I removed the tranny, hurt my back, because the trans started to slip of the trans jack. At 18, I thought the trans was more impt than my back. I tore into the transmission and guess what, nothing wrong. I had a friend's friend who was a trans mechanic and the diagnosis was nothing wrong. Being a little smarter now, I started tracing down the drive line. Well, the driveshaft turns but the wheel don't. Yep, it is the spider gears. $100 later and with a bench repaired rear end, I am on the road. That was 40yrs ago.
  14. Hey Doc, I am a pharmacist and I get you a hell of deal on the latest and greatest anti-psychotic drug. I like the injectable stuff myself. Also, I have changed the needle/seat 2x, the fuel reg has been adjusted all the way down (4 psi, I think). I have ordered another quick-kit (to get the needle/seat/springs and new floats from JEGS. I thought I had hooked up the different tubing wrong, but I took them all off and still problem. Thanks all for your help
  15. I have a Turbo Tom setup with 4 barrel Holley, 600CFM, Model 4160. When I start the car, it run OK for about 5 min, before gas starts to come out of the primary vent tubes as well as dripping extra gas thru the venturis. I have checked the Holley Red fuel pump, added a regulator (Holley), rebuilt carb with new needle/seat and float springs. Still no luck. What else? Could the floats be bad? Anyone have any ideals that I have not tried? Thanks
  16. Nuts! I am running Holley Red fuel pump, but as you know I am having my own issues. John
  17. In fact, UI is a "donation" from your employers. In Texas at least, employers must not only fund the UI fund but my pay back the fund for any money's that ex-workers receive. Thank your ex-employer. Malcom X said " Welfare was just another form of slavery." Thank LBJ and the "Great Society" for that. Enough!
  18. I'll give you a call Saturday, before I come out, if that's ok with you. Thanks for your help. John
  19. You're lucky to get out of town on Friday at 2:00PM, especially as you approach Conroe. On Friday, it is sometimes 1 hr to go from the Woodlands across the San Jacinto bridge which is only 2 miles.
  20. Hey, you really should take a look at Polydyn. It's local and less pain than shipping and possibly losing the items. My main concern when I shipped my downpipe to the Jethot factory in MS was FedEx losing it. I tied address tags around the damn thing and didn't sleep until I got it back. How do you replace it except to have someone hand build on a mock up?! Anyway this is my 2 cents on this subject. Another subject is the turbo. When I burned the turbo TT put on the car originally, he said to get the replacement with the V2 kit which has a water cooled jacket. Problem was the new turbo moved the outlet about 1/2" toward the back and the inlet on the intake manifold no longer aligned. Anyone have a solution. I just forced the tubing on. It works but looks a little crappy.
  21. Hey, you guys work for a living? I'm sick and left work at 1:30. First time in 30 yrs. and now everybody is calling to make sure I'm not dead. I used Jet Hot (sent to the MS plant) to coat the down pipe and when I fired the engine up, the damn thing bubbled up. I coated it the white stuff, I forget what it is (hey, I'm sick). Jet Hot has all kinds of disclaimers about this. When I coated the exhaust manifold, I used a local company called Poly-dyn off FM 249 and Grant. It is coated black and it seems to handle the heat OK. I have to take off the down pipe because I have a leak somewhere, so I will have Poly-Dyn do the down pipe in black also. I am having Amaretto straight up to cure my head cold. Cheers. John
  22. I bet TT built that engine. I also have "O" ringed heads, F54 block and P90A head. Your engine looks to be a duplicate of mine, except the fan. I thought that only belonged on an injected car. I can't believe there are that many TT cars in Tx. I actually drove mine to TT in Dunwoody, Ga twice! Exactly 911 miles from my house in Cypresswood to the front of TT's house on Pontiac Circle. Spent the night twice. Great Guy! R.I.P. Where in Tx are you. I'm in Conroe (Oak Ridge North)
  23. Just showed up in the back your truck?! What a find. I sure someone wants it. If it is a typical TT kit, someone put at 5K-10K into it. I got my Z running today and the gas started shooting 6 in. out of the vent tubes. I guess the Holley Red fuel pump is too much pressure at a preset of 7lbs. Still have a exhaust leak.
