  1. The free market place will decide what the price should be. That is not to say that someone won't get a hell of a deal and another overpay. Besides if one is happy with whatever is paid, that is all that counts.
  2. Congratulations. So... what the heck did he do with a flat screwdriver and wrench. Adjust the floats? I'll call you tomorrow. John
  3. Why does a Floridian spell color " colour ?" Nice car, but I would need to handle this one on the spot.
  4. Check this place out on ebay. I received my air dam Wednesday (before Thanksgiving) Cost was 195.00 including shipping. It is a Xenon product. AutoAccessories4Less
  5. Good Luck. I filed with paypal and got a whole $3.00 out of $45 spent. Buyer Beware!
  6. Funniest thing, I just pm'ed texis300 about the parts I purchased for similar project except by the piece. I wasn't aware that Tom was doing injected turbo kits. When I spoked to him about that time, he was heavy into airplanes and didn't seem he was interested in doing anything else. I asked him about bringing my car to him and he informed me that I would be awhile before he could get to it and never did before I was informed that he was killed. Anyway, I am not sure how you much you have, but I know I have (or will) spent $4200 in just parts. You stuff is probably worth more. The problem about keeping all of parts, is obsolescence. The longer you keep the less it 's worth. i.e. I was trying to get a gasket for the Deltagate before discovering it was the same as the Evolution wastegate. NOBODY at Turbonectics knew or didn't want to tell me. If texis300 is going to convert, this might be an interest to him. I would be if I didn't have this other stuff. John
  7. Crap. It's always something. "If it's not one thing, it's something." (Rosanne Rosana Dana) I'm really thinking hard about going to injection. There is hardly anyone who knows anything about Tom's system and less that wants to work on it. I already have all the parts with my debacle with someone on this site. Car already has forged pistons, F54 block, "O" ring P90a heads, R200 LSD. That should be a good basis.
  8. Check the needle seats for crud. Pull them from the top and blow them out gently. I already experienced this. I had a small piece of gasket inside of the primary needle/seat. John
  9. Get it running first before you spend any more $ on it. Trust me. John
  10. Hey GT72Datsun, Thanks alot. I'll check it out this weekend. Question: You know anything about the modification to the carb. Two mechanics ago, rebuilt it and I wonder if they made any changes. The secondaries won't open. Speaking of manifold gaskets, I have replaced the exhaust manifold gaskets 5 times, trying to fix the leak at the #6 cyl. Here is not much material on Tom's manifold and it will leak if not placed exactly right. I finally got it to seal for more than a couple days by using 14gauge electrical wire and using hi-temp silicone to glue it inside around the manifold gasket. I sure do miss Tom. Thanks
  11. Hey guys, I am still having hell with my setup. Due to diff. people (including myself) working on my car, I am not sure I have all the vacuum hoses hooked up right. I am not getting much boost and only 5lbs vacuum. I may have mechanical problems. Sean, glad you got your car back. What about Sterling McCall's Z meeting? GT72Datsun: your setup looks alot like mine except mine is only a 600CFM. I hope you guys don't mind me getting some help from you. Thanks.
  12. Happy Birthday. I though for a minute, there was someone older than me
  13. I agree the front is butt ugly like the Lexus SC430's butt is butt ugly. I wonder if Infinity will make something similar.
  14. I found that the Optima battery, with the center post made it difficult to place the cables in my early 260Z. The cables were apparently just long enough for the stock battery. I think these cables are oem. It just easier to use the stock config. battery.
  15. Don't do it. Fix your injection. I have been there and now spending a grand or more going back.
  16. Got mine yesterday too, but.... I think it is trying to serve too many masters and end up serving none. I will continue to support them though.
  17. Sounds like my experiences with 3 in Houston, including a member here. The last mechanic (member here) tore the top of my motor, lost all of the f"nking bolts and then gave it back to me, saying he didn't have the time. I would have sued his ass, but he doesn't have anything.
  18. Thanks for you input, but my question is weather I can use the ZXT harness now w/o turbo'ing the car and sometime in the future add the turbo? In other words will the ZXT harness work with the NA motor and w/o turbo?
  19. I recently purchased two cars. '78 280Z converted to carbs and another 280Z I bought for parts. I plan on converting the carb car to EFI and in future to stock ZX turbo ( I have all the parts) My question is: Can I use the ZXT harness for the non-turbo 280 and later convert with the ZXT harness already in place? Anyone ever try this? I have searched w/o luck. Thanks in advance.
  20. Send to radiator shop have it rodded out and cleaned.
  21. How? I bought the last new shaft for the 280ZXT Distrib. in Houston at Baker-Jackson Nissan. I was impossible to find a used one, so I just started calling around with the correct part #.
  22. What's next? Length of your peter? This serves no purpose.
  23. Nice Z, but totally unrealistic price. We all have put lots of money in our cars, but we would be insane to think that we would recover all the money that we put into our cars. Maybe 25-30K.
  24. For guy's (or ladies) that don't have the time or ability, could we start of list of Z experienced mechanics and their location?
