  1. I had to remove the plastic body panel to get to the antenna. Antenna is fixed, so now time to re-install the panel. The panel was already cracked from someone's previous effort. I removed the seat belt mount to remove the panel and the hatch floor panels to get a good shot at the panel. I got it out but having a hell of time putting it back in. It would be great to be able to remove the hatch strut mounts. Anyone have some time saving suggestions. Searched both here and Zcar.com and can't find any posts. Thanks for any help.
  2. Let me know when you get them installed so I can see them at Slow_old_car's.
  3. I received a pair of these seats today. Looks decent. Thanks for your photos and instructions. I'll try to install in a couple of weeks.
  4. Taking your daughter to dance class? You're a good dad.
  5. Has anyone attempted to use this type of welded manifold to make a casting for aluminum or cast iron? Please understand that I know nothing about casting or welding, but I was told that the reason, Tom Wyatt III's (Turbo Tom) turbo systems was durable because the exhaust manifold was casted (iron) and not welded.
  6. So was I. C.R.S. is exactly Can't Remeber S*it. Common problem in warmer weather (still joking).
  7. Suffering from CRS syndrome. Turned 60 last month. Soon, I'll be a senior citizen, whatever that means. BTW, I noticed that Jim Edwards has been a topic here for several yrs.
  8. Congratulation. I won a contest with a seller once, but because it was under $50 (I think) I got nothing. Been ripped off 3 times before I learned the ropes about buying off ebay, software, s13 seats and an item I can't remember.
  9. I think this is probably enough before our forum gets into some problems. Even scumbags have some rights.
  10. Actually the problem at this time is falling dollar.
  11. Were they received in good condition? Man, those depot workers throw that stuff around and they get broken pretty easy. I would be surprised if they arrive in 1 piece. But it is probably lot cheaper then sending by freight.
  12. Back a few yrs ago, I shipped a rear end. Basically, I built a cage of wood around it, made a handle of wiring covered with material on the top and called UPS. In your case, get a pallet and strap/bolt it on the pallet and take it to a freight company. There are pics on the forum. Call UPS and see what they will take because freight is expensive. Good luck and I could use the T-5.
  13. Thanks, I'll run to that area and check. Someone told me about a place on Pinemont (runs parallel to 34th st.)
  14. Vitaloni mirrors, I think, is the better product. Screws don't show. I think they are still available, but about double the price. $40/each
  15. Thanks Guys. I did find 1 shop in the 3rd/4th largest city in the U.S. Plenty of auto trans repairs.
  16. We have any members or vendors working on 5 speeds? Anyone know of any? Difficult to find locally.
  17. Driving by the seat of my pants makes me incontinent. I got faith... have a fire extinguisher attached to roll bar. John
  18. This one reason, I decided to replace my TT kit with something more updated. The scary part is the carb. as no one seem to know how it was modified. Also, the TT kit does produce alot of heat as another member pointed out. ( Got a big burn spot on my hood). I'll help with a much as I know. John
  19. Huh!? What happened to TT's kit? Is this for another car? I'm just about finished with my old TT car. John
  20. Actually I had already tried these suggestions. Tonite, just because I am use to really loud electric pump, I gave it a couple of taps from a hammer, then tried to start the car again, no luck. I took the hose off from the filter and cranked the car a couple of times to check how much fuel I was getting AND THE DAMN THING STARTED and ran for a few seconds with fuel dribbling out of the rail. I put the hose back on and it woundn't start again. I removed the hose again and it ran again. Slow_old_car ( Jeremy) came by and put the hose back on and it started again. Neither of us understand it, but it is running. But, I really am a little nervous about taking it out from the garage. Thought it maybe it was just flooded or the fuel pressure reg maybe faulty. So, I will replace fuel pump with a Walbro and the fuel pressure reg, just in case. Thanks for your help, though.
  21. I took off the top and bottom cover on the steering column to get to fix the horn. But before I got to check horn, I had move the car ('78 Z) which I had started before I got to the horn. The car won't start. It has fuel and spark and spins well. I checked the distrib. and coil and they seem to be ok. I assumed that it was something I might have moved when I removed the covers but I find nothing. Also, the '78 manual does not indicate that anything in the steering column except the ignition, would prevent the car from running. I did notice that there are 2 loose black wires with spade ends but it doesn't look like it was hooked to anything, plus they just fell out when I removed the covers. Anyone with suggestions. Thanks
  22. Memorial area schools are good. Parents makes the school and parents in this area have lots of money. Sugarland and The Woodlands area PUBLIC shools are OK. All public schools are too much into PC and not into education. I think there is a site that shows the % of graduating class going to college by high school. I would look there. Sorry, I didn't notice that you are Air Force. I you are active duty, then there really is only one area for you. Clear Lake area. Schools are good and crime is low except for dentists running over their husbands and astronauts going man crazy. (Just kidding). Good luck and welcome.
  23. I agree. 24K in SF is bad. High school diploma will never get you or most people any place. Go back to school. I pay my drivers in Houston that much not to mention all of the other perks. If that isn't a possibility, I would move and go to a local community college part time. At least you don't have a wife, mortgage, and rug rats.
  24. I applaud you for being a good step-dad. Your story is repeated with every family with an underage driver (under 25), good driver or not and especially for male drivers. My daughter had a couple of accidents and several speeding tickets. It wasn't until she went before the judge and threatened with a suspended license did she wake up. I firmly believe kids drive with their eyes and ears shut!
