  1. One in the garage, one in the 260Z, and one in the kitchen. The Z's carb caught on fire once and the wife caught the kitchen on fire once. Nothing in the garage yet. You can't be too careful. FYI, the fire extinguisher inspection people told me that the ones with a plastic head is not refillable. Buy with metal head.

    Seat swap list

Does the seat control irritate your thigh? This is one of reason, I traded in my '04 350Z.
  3. I have been having leakage around #6 exhaust port on my Turbo Tom exhaust manifold. There isn't much metal for the chunky washer to grab. This will my fifth time I or a mechanic have replaced the gasket since I got the car going after 10 yrs of storage. Going back thru the posts, I used the suggestions of JohnC from a similar post in June and this seemed to help, temporarily. Again from the posts, it was suggested that the problem maybe a warped exhaust manifold. I checked both the head and the exhaust manifold. The head is straight but the manifold is not as straight. Putting a straight edge on there is clearance about 0.2-0.3mm (0.01") in the middle of manifold. Is this too much? Should I get this machined? I am using a Fel-Pro gasket for P90A head. Thanks for any help
  4. Sean, This is what I used. The TT Cable is too light to use every long. Check out Arizona Z for a good installation instructions. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10002_767135_-1_10313
  5. I purchased a '78 with the purpose of using the parts I needed for my other '78 and parting/selling the rest. Thanks for the insight.
  6. Where do you have it? I thought you got rid of the car.
  7. I used the ones by Spectre. With cable kit and carb. bracket was $45. Got from jegs, but you have to search for it. It does not come up as "throttle cable." Lokar cable and bracket was well over $100.00. Used in my Turbo Tom kit.
  8. Ross is known for his slow responses. It seems to me that when someone here complain that he responds. I understand that he has a full job and he does this as a sideline, but seems to me that if he responded more promptly then he would have more business. In my business (home health pharmacy) my referrals would go somewhere else. Just my opinion and I bought from Ross and I found his products excellent.
  9. I have 3. Early 260Z with Turbo Tom Kit owned since 1978, '78 280Z bought last year and one '78 280Z for parts bought in May.
  10. The Nissan Motorsport gasket is backordered and according to Courtesy Nissan in Richardson, Tx, they don't know when it will be available. I ordered the Fel-Pro today from O'Reilly's. Also, I picked up a tube of VersaChem's Mega Copper Gasket Maker. Suppose to support temp up to 700 deg. F. Also, I am using a couple of hex head bolts (from McMaster-Carr.. thank you, John C) in a couple of places where the Turbo Tom intake or exhaust manifolds don't allow enough room for Pallnet's longer studs and wider base nuts. I'll know this weekend if this works.
  11. I am confused a bit. Other's on this site say that the Fel-Pros are junk and the Nissan OEM is the one to use. So is the Nismo part any better than OEM or Fel-Pro? Is there a consensus? The Fel-Pro item at Autozone is $11 the OEM is twice the price. And all have to be special ordered. Thanks.
  12. Where did you find the studs and lock nuts? I am having an issue to leaking gasket between 5 & 6. Thanks
  13. Actually, I did not know you also sold tires, otherwise I would have ordered my wheels with tires mounted. That group buy had a lot of responses and I did not read every one. I still have the wheels in the boxes waiting for time to order the tires from tire rack.
  14. I'm sorry that I did not make my problem clear. It is the gasket that is leaking. I think that the manifold or the head maybe warped so I thought instead of removing the head I would just put on the hi-temp silicone on the gasket. I thought maybe someone has done this. I remember at one time a company was advertising that you could assemble an entire engine using just their silicone sealant.
  15. I developed a leak on my Turbo Tom exhaust manifold. I need to take the easiest fix at this time. Will hi-temp silicone sealant do the job? It is only a small leak. Thanks John
  16. Anybody buy a unit? Seems expensive. $54K for 900 sq. ft. garage. http://www.garagetowntexas.com/index.php
  17. This a good reason not to pay out of your checking account. I use Pay Pal but I charge it to my credit card.
  18. I had the same experience.
  19. It seems to me that several people who use this site the most are non-supporters. So they should be the LAST to complain.
  20. Hey, it is Texis300's fault.
  21. I'm in Oak Ridge, across from the Woodlands Mall. Deer is road kill on FM 242. Spring is a BIG area.
  22. It is a lot worse in Houston! Now since the Feds have extended the freebies until 2009, I bet they stay here forever.
  23. I glad to find someone older than me. Grad in Houston, 1966. Hell, I can't remember that far back.
  24. Was that all the adapting you had to do? Two flat bars? That's a great find. I will intent on re-furb'ing my old seats, but maybe I won't. Thanks for sharing. Could you add to the " Seats " thread?
