  1. Sounds like your break booster diaphram is leaking.. Try capping off the break booster vacume and go for a drive. (Just remember , you have no power assist breaks.)
  2. Looking great. One thing though. I would make sure your exhaust is well coated/protected under the wrap, as it will rot out much faster under the wrap.
  3. What was the final gap on your compression rings?
  4. Use a magnet to hold your copper spoon/penny against the backside..
  5. I have a set of front windows from a early 260Z ( Pretty sure they are the 240Z style?) I would make sure to see witch window you have, what is the build date? Let me know if your interested.
  6. I'd say go with the subaru wagon. I love those things. Good mileage, great ride, awsome mountain/snow cars. Not to mention a ton of space. Not sure about the new ones but my old one I could put full 4x8 sheets in.
  7. If you did flood it , I would also change the oil. It probably went past the rings and into the crankcase/oilpan.
  8. Another note on paint stripper.. If you decide to use it, make sure to get every last bit of it back off the car. It will go into crevices etc.. If you don't it will ruin your paint job. If you need to remove all the paint or do rust repair, I would highly recomend having it media blasted.
  9. Looking good, soon you'll be able to enjoy the fruits of your labor (:
  10. Pull all your plugs and post a picture of them. Make sure to remember witch cylinder each one came from. You can use a noid light to make sure all the injectors are getting a pulse. I'd also put a fuel pressure gauge on it. Run a compression test. No reason to start throwing expensive parts on, until you identify the problem.
  11. Yes you need a certain degree of back pressure to get a proper scavaging effect. How much depends totally on the whole engine combo. You should be more than ok to drive it to an exhaust shop with only headers though. Tunnning for proper scavaging/exhaust pulse/backpressure helps your engine breath better, with adds to more torque/HP etc...
  12. There are a lot of things that could be wrong with your setup. Weak battery, bad connections, etc. You also said you have the J pipe off, where do you have the afm installed? But why bother when have an MSnS??
  13. I got to spend Christmas with my family ( : . And I spent the last of my money on a soccer ball for some poor kids down the street from where I was staying. I'd say thats a great christmas
  14. In a Z the bosch platinums are a waste too. The best plugs you can run, are the proper NGK's IMO... Alex is correcct about the multi electrodes, at least on all standard systems. You can get multi electrodes to fire simultaniously but thats another deal... There are a few cars I have seen that use the platinums to their potential. Also, make sure not to try to gap them or clean them.
  15. clean your plugs and try to lean it out a little..
  16. Mario could be right, I can't remember what year the cali spec cars got their 02's .. If you can get a pic of your actall exhaust manifold we could tell you for sure. Also, why do you need to locate the O2 ???
  17. it's not even in the picture. That is your intake manifold. The EGR is right on the upper right corner. Look down below your intake at the exhaust manifold and you should see it. Cylinder looking with 1 wire comming out.
  18. I was gonna produce glass covers but didn't get enough intrest. Only 2 sets were made.. I may revive the idea.
  19. More power to you, for wanting to do it. I think its sweet and good luck to you.....
  20. Also, since your on base. You probably have a couple of good sized guys around, the motor isn't that heavy to lift with a couple people.
