  1. http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071016/FREE/71016002/1508/newsletter02 I kinda like the look of it. A Z06 looks so much like a stock C6 that it looses some of the wow factor, and a 911T is almost 50% more expensive.
  2. LFMAO It's because "the media" likes to drive their hummers too
  3. WOW!! How do L's make so much power?
  4. Looked cool, but the camera man was so bad . . .
  5. My car was in single digit %'s when it got smogged a few months ago, '85 Honda with 235K. POS, but it runs reliably and is VERY cheap to run. If they are so worried, why don't they make the smog levels more stringent?
  6. I searched, and didn't get anything on that "Ken in AZ" - any links? The oil pan is very deep on the truck motors, might a winged Corvette pan work? Thanks!
  7. The Skyline is almost out, the G37 is out, when will a new Z come around?
  8. I've been looking a the iron block LS truck engines, but a recurring issue is the fitment of the alt, water pump, p/s, a/c. http://media.gm.com/us/powertrain/en/product_services/2007/Photo%20Library/Gen%20III/Gen%20III%20Truck/07%205.3L%20V8%20LM7%20EXP%20LoR.jpg Looks like the LM7 might actually fit everything into the Z31 bay - might it? Found a picture of the 6.0L LQ4, and it appears to have the same dimensions. http://www.enginesandgearboxes.co.uk/site/media/engines/Isuzu%20engine%203.jpg
  9. Wonder if any Japanese forums are talking about a group buy
  10. Very clean engine! Hope that it is as good on the inside, for all the boost that will [inevitably] be run on it
  11. Interesting use of the Jag IRS. The brakes look pretty hefty, how adaptable is it, besides in a complete costum build?
  12. I talked with a twice over Dodge Cummins owner, said that his '03[iirc] had the oil pump go out on the previous owner and that the new engine cost in the area of 15,000. Doesn't sound like diesel reliability, is that a known problem?
  13. Is that a TPI or Cross Fire engine? I have heard nothing but horror stories on both. Just put a TBI manifold on it hah
  14. If that price holds close, it'll be a great bargain. The base 911 stickers for 73,500. http://www.porsche.com/usa/models/911/
  15. Taking a look at some of the hybrid SBC swaps done with 280ZX's and Z31 300ZX's, it looks like the 280ZX's have a longer but slightly narrower engine bay, making the headers a tight fit but giving plenty of room lengthwise. While the 300ZX Z31's have a wider bay that is easier on the headers while getting kinda snug with a SBC. How well do said engine bays stack up for a SBC / LS swap? Clearances for headers and the front end accessories? I've been doing the run around with California smog info, trying to see what would fit better in the meantime. Anyone have any figures that might help? Rough ones, anything. Rather not PM eveyone that has done the swap to try and get some dimensions Firewall to radiator? And how much room you have between the front end bits and the fan? Header clearance? Custom, block hugger, rear exit? Thanks! Tried this in the non-tech board, but with no luck. Not sure why I tried it there :/

  18. So the intakes face the proper way and clear alright? I've seen a good many FWD engines that havee the intakes facing the transmission side. . .
  19. On the diesel note, Honda is going to be bringing one here as well. I've talked with several guys who own / have owned the Cummins Dodges, and they get upwards of 20mpg on non-city driving. City, low teens, 12-15 ish. For comparison, a 4.3L 1500 Silverado will get 20+ highway, not to much lower city. And they cost a whole lot less. Not sure how the S10 does, but comes with the same engine, and is smaller, so mileage would benefit.
  20. I take it that is a fixed magazine? I've been looking at getting another rifle, Yugo Mauser and a Mosin Nagant carbine were nice . . . for a while, and wow, beat up M1's cost 2x that at the stores I looked. Speaking of which, what is the best way to get Saiga? Store? Gun show? Private Party?
  21. http://www.automobilemag.com/features/news/0709_2009_hyundai_tiburon/ RWD, turbo I4 or V6, low twenty thousands, usable back seat. . . Maybe Nissan will make a similiar - turbo I4 - version of the 350Z to compete if the Hyundai does well
  22. So how many of the toll roads are there? Sounds nice ;P
  23. The quality of that road is great, kinda suprising too, as the 'roads' around here are beat up near to death. Enjoy the ride!
  24. Considering that I drive an '85 Honda Prelude, it is incredible that I've been pulled over only twice, and gotten ticked once. Got warned for pulling away from a stop sign too quickly, didn't break the speed limit, and it was near a blind hill / corner and I didn't really want to get rear ended, but all ended well. Then I got a ticket for a 79 in a 55, in a saftey zone. 6 am Saturday on my way to work. NOT ONE CAR BESIDES THE COP ON A 27 MILE DRIVE. Online drivers ed classes rock !!
