  1. Going out on a limb here, but they probably went with the VQ/VR because of cost and packaging. Based heavily on the VQ, it is probably a whole lot cheaper to build than a new RB26 and can be put farther back in the car - think only the front two cylinders are infront of the crossmember.
  2. Where does the turbo on those cars loose efficiency?
  3. Found a page on the Volvo head swap to a 2.3T, still reading through it - looks like alot of work. http://www.geocities.com/_nitro_/volvoswap/volvoswap.html
  4. How far is the bottom end good for on those turbo 2.3s? And that Volvo head swap - does it bolt on the the 2.3 or is there a whole lot of machining required? Have been in a friends early 90s 7x0 Volvo that has a N/A DOHC I4, that thing will go when urged! Not to mention it is a HUGE engine.
  5. What are you going to be dropping it into? Keeping PS, A/C? Pics!
  6. Incredible!! Is that a gloss black or a charcoal? How about the shade of orange?
  7. I take it that your Jag IRS is going well then, updates?
  8. Nissan is going to have a Silvia successor? Details?
  9. I like the vynil GM Performance Parts stickers . . . on a Nissan!
  10. Wow!! 400hp going through the front wheels !
  11. Look at Kreissiegs site and if you look at the background on their website, it sure looks like a S30 is in there. http://www.kreissieg-usa.com/templates/pageTheme/fabul/images/bg_news.jpg
  12. A grand for that?? A pity I am 1000 miles from it grrr Wish one of the good project car deals pops up near me sometime, such great deals.
  13. Considering an optioned out Civic Si / Cobalt SS can climb to the mid 20k's, that is an incredible deal.
  14. http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071115/FREE/71114017/1528/newsletter01 The Cliff notes -RWD, 3.8-liter, 300-hp-plus, 250-lb-ft V6 or turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four producing in excess of 200 hp. -The four-cylinder coupe, equipped with either a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic, should start in the low $20,000 range. -Performance summer-only tires and 19-inch wheels will be offered as an option; 18 inchers will be standard. In addition, the car will feature independent rear suspension and MacPherson front struts, Brembo disc brakes at all four corners, and a limited-slip differential. - V6 0-60 less than 6 seconds. Hyundai designed the base engine famiy that is used in the Caliber SRT-4 and Evo X so hopefully the turbo I4 will be able to take alot of boost
  15. Incredible! Is that the stock distributor? If so, why didn't you get an EDIS-like system?
  16. How about a S130 and / or Z31 test? The drag numbers that I've seen are really quite low, especially on the Z31, and both are pretty cheap to get.
  17. In the GenIII blocks, is there any internal differences that make certain years better? Heard that there was some issue with crankcase pressure building up on some of the engines years, and oil being sucked into the intake on others.
  18. The VG33 is 91.5mmx83mm and came in a number of Nissan's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_VG_engine#VG33E

Any more information on that? Presume it is a VQ in there.
  20. If the work is well done, that shell [and kit] is worth a good bit. And the other bits, whatever they are, could sweaten the deal. That is, if you need a shell.
  21. Nice looking body kit - build it yourself or buy it?
  22. Wouldn't equal length headers get that shound? At least for a V8, but a I6 . . .?
  23. Found this in the comments section of the above articles.
  24. The 997 Turbo weights +/- 3500 lbs, the Z06 ~3100.But, both are focused sports cars. The GT-R has real back seats and a real trunk, just look at the pics on the front page. It could be a comfy DD, 40K cheaper than a 997T and worlds more liveable than a Z06. On the point of styling, I think it looks back to the angular lines of the KGC10 and the C110. Is anyone going to mistake it for anything different? What GT-R owner wants to be complemented on his Z or G?
