  1. Any idea what engine block etc they are using? 387 cid is a bit odd, comes to 6.3L.
  2. Ah yes, wolf spiders. The ones that don't slow down when hit by a rolled up newspaper. . . time for the shoe
  3. Wouldn't you have to rebuild the N/A before turboing it - compression ratio is probably kinda high.
  4. QFT It reminds me as well of the Koenigsegg, and also the Mclaren F1.
  5. Sure hope he didn't have any passangers.
  6. How much abuse does it take to kill one of the transmissions? Or do they croak from normal usage?
  7. How much those built Tremecs run, compared to a rebuilt T5 with uprated internals?
  8. How has the stock electronics done with the swap? Functionality of electronic stuff would be pretty nice Also, how is the spacing between the radiator and engine? Pics?
  9. How much are junk yard engine and transmission units running? What about the ECU? Wouldn't that be a pain to setup without going aftermarket?
  10. Simply awesome!! Wish that F1 was more popular in the US
  11. Actually, a swap from anything up to a 1 ton is legal, possible at least. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=100533 I'm trying to find out how difficult it is to install a smog legal Gen III block in a 300ZX - after looking at some of the prices at knocking motor Z32's, that is tempting too! Also trying to find out how much work it would take to fit the front end accessories. So, how difficult is it to swap in the electronics needed for a California swap inspection?
  12. How about kit car 'vettes? Don't see many of the early ones on the road, but wow, do they have presence! Lengthen the frame a bit for some extra room, think it would look great.
  13. The 5.3L LM7 truck engines are pretty cheap, economical, and ready to put out plenty of power. But, I don't know how difficult it would be to keep a Z31 swap smog legal. There is a ton of aftermarket kit to run the Gen III's and LSx's in swaps, but how legal are the wiring harnesses that clip out sensors? Not O2 sensors, but the annoying ones like the gas tank pressure, etc. [not horribly familiar with them all]. The ECU's can have those functions edited out to keep from throwing error codes, but what all in terms of electronics does California require to pass a CARB engine swap inspection? Also . . . some questions. From the descriptions I've read, headers that exit to the rear clear the steering rack. Do the ones on the LM7 work? http://media.gm.com/us/powertrain/en/product_services/2007/Photo%20Library/Gen%20III/Gen%20III%20Truck/07%205.3L%20V8%20LM7%20EXP%20LoR.jpg What accessories clear? A/C would be handy but not a deal breaker. Oil pan - I've heard that the Corvette one will allow a lower mount, and has more capacity with the winged pan but needs some work. True? With the ECU in place, does the 4L60E need any special controllers or is it still good? Are there any issues with running the LM7 hard? Not track day / autocross hard, but occasional trip down the quarter / windy backwoods mountain road now one drives hard :burnout:Oiling issues? Any issues, thoughts or suggestions more than welcome!
  14. A retired friend of mine was pretty much ready to do a Factory Five cobra, but the smog and registration hassle for a kit car here in California scared him to a G35 sedean for 12k.
  15. For the price, the average driver gets the power of the VQ, but with a real trunk
  16. Does the Altima have the 4 or 6 in it? Besides rocking, what other impressions do you have from it?
  17. Nice flying! I was able to go to the Le Bourget airshow in '03, and my dad, who flew Chinooks in Vietnam and instructed on bell jets a long while, couldn't believe the rolls and flips there were doing.
  18. Might want to try http://car-part.com/ Searches junk yards.
  19. Awesome! Went by an Andretti Green rig on I-5 up here in Redding the other day . . . and got to find out that no bells got rung in my brothers head when he saw that name
  20. Ah, now it makes sense. Cops aren't that serious up here.
  21. Might want to put a desiccant like baking soda or those beads that are used in shipping. That would help keep it a good bit dryer.
  22. So you still have to take your smog exempt in to get inspected? I've never heard of anyone up here having to do that . . .
