  1. Would it be possible to pass a 1JZ swap off for a 2JZ Supra one, for California engine swap inspections?
  2. If it does run and drive, $500 is a steal, that is if there aren't to many issues besides the brakes.
  3. It is alot better way to go than the IROC with their TPI intakes, which are horrible to service. I've heard of people getting actually pretty good mph on a highway trip, in a well tuned RS.
  4. We are pushing it with the $135 price right now. Those look great though!
  5. Actually got my brother and his wife to chip in. Found a silver-blue model done by Franklin Mint, absolutely beautiful.
  6. Bet the removal of the front bumper really fubars the aerodynamics of the ZX, which is soo much better than the Z. Looks good though! Maybe it would be possible to pull the rubber casing off the stock bumper and put some sort of bumper cover on it . . .
  7. Ya, I was really considering a bike, as I spend ~200-250 a month on gas. Then I started talking to people at work. One t-boned a car that ran a red light, broke his collar bone. Another was able to lay down his bike when a car pulled out in front of him and took a ride on his backpack. Then the boyfriend of a chick - the guy overcooked a corner, went down, hit the curb, got some air and hit the entrance sign to an apartment complex. He'll be in traction for a while I was told. And those are just the people down in the city. I live in the mountains with lots of deer and bad weather [there is a reason I list my location as "Nor Cal" haha], and the road actually has a sign showing the fatalities each year and so far this one. Just a 2 land road too. Wish insurance rates were lower, would love to get something with lots of airbags for a DD. Not going to happen, to many reckless drivers in my demographic
  8. I'd love to get that fiberglass Franklin mint one, but I'm still in college [but still working full time - but making not much :/]. I was able to get a 1:24 diecast of a '69 GTO, my dad's last 'good' car. Trying to find his dream car, don't think I'll ever be able to afford to buy a '63 Vette. Any leads on a ~1:24 model?
  9. Trying to find a good quality but not to expensive 1963 Stingray diecast for a present for my dad. There are several on eBay, but I'm not to certain of the quality. Recommendations?
  10. Bummer that it is an A/T, has been sitting, and was last registered in '04. Think that might make it more of a parts car.

    Nistune

Been several more months, any more users of Nistune?
  12. If you are going to change out the supercharger, it might be a good time to switch to some sort of EFI, especially if it is going to be on the street in addition to the track, I bet.
  13. Was the PCV oil issue fixed beginning on the LS2 or also late on the LS1? The interior 'windowing' to keep crankcase pressure equal?
  14. "1929 Ford Model-A Special engineering project, exterior and interior restored to its original specification but engine and transmission are from Group 4 Ford Escort BDA rally car power output 250 hp." Bet that can spin those skinny little tires quite easily!
  15. So why is it so important to 'recover' a stolen car in a high speed chase with so many in danger? The cop in the pursuing Camaro could easily have been killed when he crashed, numerous other motorists were put in severe danger . . . all for a car. Isn't a life MUCH more important??
  16. Why do police give chase when the suspect is driving so fast? Isn't almost like shooting into a crowded intersection? How did the kid get away? Just outrun them?
  17. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=125689 The transmissions took a bit to get right, that thread has some good info. If you good with rebuilding them, it might be a good deal. IF they don't keep on breaking.
  18. Has anyone used a carb intake, like the Vic Jr, with a GM TBI setup? I imagine tuning would be easier, as would economy.
  19. Any idea how much that 6spd can take? Grenading trannies isn't a fun thing . . .
  20. IIRC, the intake and and exhaust valves are switched from LS1 to SBF.
  21. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=124985 This thread has a pretty good idea of what it'll take to swap a VG into a Z, and the guy has plans for a standalone ECM can control the valvetronic/whatever nissan calls their version. Don't know how much it would cost to put on a carb, but it would cost a good bit I imagine. Plus, you'll lose some power due to the loss of the variable valve timing. Bet it would sound awesome though
  22. When Car and Driver went to VIR to do their fast testing, the GT500 suffered in the heat after just a few laps, but none of the turbocharged cars were affected likewise. Could the liquid heat-exchanger intercooler thing be an issue on this 'Vette or do you think GM has fixed that?
  23. Is that the complete wiring harness?
