  1. Big Phil? Sorry, not familiar with Hollywood-lingo.
  2. Did BMW ever bring a diesel to the states? I have never heard of nor seen one. Anyone seen the Top Gear where they enter the diesel BMW? I was surprised at how well they did.
  3. Either you REALLY hate it or REALLY love it, I don't think it is possible to go either way. I have been a sci fi junkie since I can remember, and I think the movie was a breath of fresh air. No prologue with preface, no "Hero, Coward, Cynic [read that on some review]", and the movie was entirely focused on the party folk. Yes, that camera gave me a headache at times, but it was to immerse the viewer into the sitaution. Work for me, I was jazzed to watch such a creative movie. Seriously, how many movies don't kill the monster, kill most of the cast, and don't give any excuses? For the record, I wasn't exposed to any of the "viral" marketing hype. And thought that AVP2 was ok, because I knew what AVP1 was like And it was worth the $4 and change for the matinee. Tops.
  4. What are your plans for the oilpan? chop it? How about upgrading that IHI turbo? Or sticking with it until it is up and running?
  5. Ha, just was thinking about those 1.9 TDI's after a rep talked about her 700+ mile range with ther Jetta oiler. What are the limits on those engines? Read in passing of a New Beetle TDI that was tuned to the hilt and was putting in some very quick times at a road course.
  6. Very nice looking tail lights! Really reminds me of the old school Skylines.
  7. Depends on how much is wrong with the car. If shoddy work was done on more than just the engine, beware, but if the transmission et all is still good, I say get a block and do a rebuild. Lots of 4G63's out there for the having, kids seem to be wrecking those cars with abandon around here at least. Depending on your local smog laws, you just might want to get a new exhaust header and turbo, once you get the engine up and running well. Those buggers can go!
  8. Reading up on Braap's post, http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=123262, it seems like the HICAS IRS's are a pain in high stress driving. Does the N/A have such issues - are they designed much different with the lack of HICAS?
  9. Nice car! And what are with the Germany plates on your 330CI about?
  10. http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080113/FREE/405006190/1528/newsletter01 Has "only" about 235hp on the Evo's 291hp, and uses alot of the same drivetrain components. The highest end base Lancer, the GTS, starts around 18K, so this could possibly be a bargain, if the price is actually between the GTS and the Evolution.
  11. Pull the wing off and you'd have a good looking RX-7, if the paint job is as ok as the poster says. Darn, sometimes California's smog laws really get to me.
  12. How much is his 2.7 V6 putting down to the ground? I've heard that they can take a good bit of boost on stock internals.
  13. I would have LOVED to have seen that movie, but I closed Saturday night - woke up at 1pm, and also don't have a TV :/
  14. "The approximate price for the all electric version is $26,900 and the plug-in hybrid $29,900. These prices are subject to change any time before we begin production." If it actually does keep the prices of charging low, think they said ~$2 for an overnight, that would make sense.
  15. A VG30E would swap nicely, who about the VG30DE? The engine is a good bit wider, and has more power than a stock VG30ET. Thinking that reliability and servicing it would be an issue.
  16. It sounds, at least on the video, fairly quiet. That the large turbo not spun up and muffling the exhaust notes into a steadier stream?
  17. The S30's more fluidic roofline would look better with the rear windows blocked over / paneled. The ZX has a distinct point in the roofline, and more behind the front doors, making the rear look a bit to heavy. IMHO
  18. Given how current cars are looking, the Camry for example, this Aero Civic at least is interesting. Given the choice for a daily driver, I'd take a vehicle that looks like a '50s future-mobile, tear-dropped and very smooth. Driving to work, school, errands, who needs anything other than mileage, safety, reliability?
  19. So why do people hack in the S13/14 IRS? Is it really THAT much better? Aren't they both semi trailing arm?
  20. Wow, what ARE the ratios of the gearbox?
  21. I tried using the Google language translater, but I still can't find the specific set of pictures, and there are alot there. Link?
  22. How about swapping in the Z31 suspension? The 87-89 Turbo front hubs can work with the Z32 brakes . . . I've seen projects to swap the S13/14 IRS into a 280ZX, how well does the Z31 LSD swap in? From what I've read it is nearly identical in design.
  23. Wow, that is a really good deal!
  24. Incredible, yet another reason to get through school with a meaningful degree.
