  1. the caprice iron heads flow better than LT1 aluminum heads. when you get heads you should get AFRs or LT4 heads. do a cam swap at the same time. it would cost you a total of like $300 more, and save you SOOO much more work, and you would only have to tune it once
  2. yeah, its a good price if the motor/transmission is alright
  3. dont want to rain on the parade but do LT1s really go for 2800 minium with a T56 out there? what about A4s... if they bring around 2k i think i should load up a truck out here lol
  4. thats you in the drivers seat i take it... you look freaking smashed in there haha you what.. 6 foot? 6 2?
  5. what year motor? im assuming ported 243 heads? are you going to be adapting your transmission or using another?
  6. i say LS1/6s suck becuase of their small bore... you can buy ported 243 (LS6 ZO6 heads) for about $1200, they flow around 300 CFM at .600 lift lets look at the LQ4/9 LS2/7 and L92.. you can buy 2 brand new L92 heads (you need a 4.00 bore) from GM for $800.. stock out of the box they flow 330 CFM.. it essentaly made the LS1/6 obsolete. only motor that dosent have the oiling problems is really the LS7 with its dry sump.. vette oil pans are a remody also.. what happens is that oil travels away from the pickup tube and it can starve for oil during high rpm/high skidpad #s (ie drifting and road racing) the simple solution to this problem is to ad an extra quart of oil.. seems to solve the problem
  7. what.. i am pretty sure that its the T56 behind all LS7s... unless GM made another 6 speed for it
  8. thats really irrelevant to the tire fitting on the rim. diffrent backspacing etc is what factors into that
  9. #1 is the oil level sensor #2 is where the dipstick tube goes IN the block to the left and right you can see holes in the block near the oil pan that are odd.. i dont know what they are for honestly. the place for your dipstick should be in the BLOCK also. the only diffrence in LS1 blocks that ive ever known of is the poor oil return in the 97-99 cars. as far as i know all 00-04 LS1 blocks are the same
  10. thats exactly what i did... i welded the 3 piece rear bumper together and filled all the holes. also filled all front bumper holes. just have to wait to get it back from the powdercoater to see how bad my amature welds look..
  11. mickey thompson says on their site that their 235 drag radial will fit on a 7 inch rim i have gold konig rewinds 15x7 that im going to run those tires and probably a 225 on the front
  12. i would have traded you bodies lol sometimes i wish my car wasnt backhalved, but i wouldnt be able to afford a reliable IRS.. so im running with my 9 inch. if i had money id buy your car. but alas, no money here. i just hope that i can find a nice 240Z in about 5 years that i can make into a nice track car WITH NO FENDER FLARES lol the car will look amazing though.. that is if you keep those skirts off it
  13. in the very side? the oil level warning sensor goes in there.. you should put it in there. dipstick on my camaro is on the passanger side. if you really want i suppose ic an take pics of my motor that is out.
  14. ok, those new ones for the SBC flow badass
  15. i was going to think of something funny/whitty to say.. but your car distracted me to much.. i like the red stitching on the shifter and boot. you should try to put a GTO steering wheel in there also.. and make the controls on the wheel work... that would be amazing
  16. why does your motor have what looks like 98/99 F body exhaust manifolds on it? or are those just vette manis
  17. LS6s are junk, so are LS1s Gen IV motors are where its at.. LS2/7
  18. ok, it dosent seem like money is an issue for you... buy a crate LS7 ($14,000) or KATECHs 427 shortblock (a bit cheaper). then buy a LG Motorsports cam, says that it will produce 600 REAR wheel horse power, mind you this is NA. no power adders what so ever. put a T56 behind it and you should have a car that makes at least 20 MPG. if thats a bit much for you.. buy an LS2 ($6000), put heads ($1000) intake ($600-800)and a cam in it and you will have 500-600 hp, no joke. you should very seriously look into the Gen IV GM V8s they are much better...
  19. its a real 302... its just not a DZ block. DZ blocks bring lotso money..
  20. mind if i make personal comments? if you do dont read any further looks as if you have nice fender lips in the rear.... why cut them out? yeah fender flares are cool and all, but my personal prefrence is for cars without flares. i just think they look cleaner. as for that side skirt... i dont think it looks very good.. but i withold final judgment untill i see a final completed project becuase i know it can look very diffrent when completed.
  21. noooooo that car needs rear bumpers, i dont like to see people fill in the bumper areas makes me sad.. but thats just personal prefrence mind you
  22. if you had money id highly suggest getting an aftermarket block and making it a stroker motor. you can get aluminum aftermarket small blocks. if you want cheap, and stout get a 2 bolt main 350 block and splay the mains. then stroke it.
  23. sold school Z28 motors were DZ 302s, they had the 4.00 inch bore of the 327 and the 283s(?) short throw crank. reved nicely. a common thing now a days is a 377, a 400 small block that is bored with a 350 crank in it. also see the 400 block with a 327 crank in it.
