  1. Kleen Strip is the manufacturer of aircraft stripper. You can get it at wal-mart, under 4 bucks for the spray can and if you hurry some stores are clearancing the 1 qt. cans to about 4 bucks also. they have it in the auto and hardware sections
  2. swap meet season is coming up. most of the meets that I`ve attended have stands that carry all kinds of joints for the circle track guys who build there own suspensions. They usually have pretty good deals and will make better deals if you buy alot. You can check for swap meet and car show schedules here http://www.hemmings.com/hemmings/htm/events/index.cfm
  3. Would you happen to have a phone # for Z car atlanta? I`m not too far away and would like to check them out. I will also keep an eye out for some fenders for ya. i`ve got one spotted for 70.00 but I was planning on getting it myself. If I can succesfully weld mine I`ll hook you up,if you still need one.
  4. I talked to an old guy last year about a 63 linoln conv, with suicide doors. The interior is like new,has new top in the box. The car is in primer and has been in storage for about 10 yrs. I`m gonna pick it up somtime after I get back to Oh, for good. Oh Yea...3500 Bucks
  5. Yea, Ya gotta keep the little lady happy, A vibrating seat just might do it
  6. I just saw an ad in summit. They are also selling the Recon brand crate engines. I have a hard time believing Summit would put their name behind a poor quality engine builder. Just my opinion
  7. I`ve recently heard radio ads in the Birmingham area, advertising a legal in most states radar/laser jammer. It`s guaranteed to make your car invisible to all bands of radar and laser by absorbing the signal. I haven`t been able to get the # yet but as soon as I do,I`ll post it
  8. How much does the phantom grip run$$? I just might be ready to pick one up soon.

  11. I was just kidding but the domestic part is why I said "wannabe" If you can`t harrass someone you`ve never met,Who can you harrass?
  12. Thanks In my endless endeavors to accumulate more tools, this seems to be the obvious next step. I hope to get my own boreing bar in the future
  13. I don`t know about any other places but moser will redrill axles drums and rotors to whatever bolt pattern you have. If that helps you with any dilema
  14. Does anyone here have a link to some plans for a homebuilt flowbench? A few years ago I toured Hough`s performance near Peoria Ill, and for years he had been using a flow bench that he had built himself. It looked pretty simple,But with my photographic memory being non existent. I can`t remember too much about it. I would love to build one to experiment with, first on some old heads. Then after a lot of reading maybe do some more serious work
  15. The whole idea here is to do your own work and you`ll never have to worry about getting screwed. For the money these guys have shelled out. I would attend one of the reputable performance oriented schools around the country and do the work myself. Or at least get together with some other viper guys on the net and trade ideas,as we do here. Even if you screw up a few things I think in the end you would still come out ahead. Not to mention the self satisfaction you get from doing it yourself.
  16. Man that`s tough to describe. It`s more of somthing you learn from doing and seeing. Maybe someone else here could explain exactly how it`s done. But I would have to show you because to me it is something that you feel. Almost like when to breath.
  17. 79 up 280zx non turbo. That would be my best guess
  18. I`ll second that. But then again I look for any reason to buy a new tool Tools are an investment, If you take care of them and don`t leave them under someones hood you will have them forever I went through a spell a couple years ago where everyone got a free tool when I worked on there car Luckily most were honest enough to bring them back when they found them.
  19. what condition are your doors and hatch in? I`ve got a hatch that has a minor dent in it and has very minor blistering under the lip at the bottom,it had a spoiler bolted to it at one time.I also have both door shells in the same condition.one minor dent in each but otherwise in very good condition.these are empty door shells. if yours are rusty these could be of use.if you`re not interested maybe someone else is.35.00 each pc+ shipping
  20. a few years ago a friend of mine bought a recon engine and later found out that the mains were .040 under. they could have changed that since then but .030 is still quite a bit. but as I said before if it`s for a cruizer or daily driver, they are good engines. His was in an 85 monte carlo with a shift kit. he never had any crank related problems. If your not going for a high performance engine, the 4 bolt block will be overkill.IMO a 4 bolt isn`t needed under 400 hp. A 2 bolt block should outlast a cast crank with no problem. Especialy if that crank has been turned quite a bit. In your situation I would go for it.They have a good warranty, so if it pull it and exchange it. you can always build another engine later and sell this one if your not happy with the hp.
