  1. That story sounds familiar. I got my 240z for $800. From the outside, the car was clean. So was the inside. The seats are good, the dash has a single crack, the center console is good, etc. I knew the floors were bad, and knew it needed work. However, it needed much more work than I expected once I started taking it apart. To give you an idea, the only good part of the car is the roof. Everything else is bent, improperly repaired, or rusted. Good luck.
  2. If you think you can handle the project, I say go for it.
  3. Zedd Findings - http://www.datsunzparts.com Also, please use the search function in the future. You could have found an answer within minutes if you searched, as this has been covered many times before.
  4. That's not what mine looks like. mine is just the two horizontal holes (top hole on left side of crease, bottom hole on right side of crease), not the diagonal ones.
  5. Anyone know where you can buy those flares, or if they're custom?
  6. Excellent post. This is exactly what I've been looking for. The one big reason I've been putting off fixing the rust on my car is because I don't know the proper way to do it. Thanks for sharing! They work for me.
  7. That was kind of painful to read. Most importantly, I'm glad you're ok. Cars are replaceable... you, not so much. Good to hear the car isn't totaled though. However the pics aren't working for me... anyone else?
  8. Wow! Looks like you have your work cut out for you! As for fixing all that rust, what I would do (which may or may not be "correct"), is strip it of the heavier pieces (suspension, engine, body panels, etc.), put it on jack stands, and replace the frame rails and floors. After that is done, it should be strong enough to put on a rotisserie. However, I do NOT think just doing a front tube chassis would be easier than replacing the frame rails. Not by a long shot. I would just replace them with some nice, thick, square tubing.
  9. Your pic isn't working. For me, anyway.
  10. I love the wheels and the spook, but not a fan of the rear spoiler. The bronze wheels look great with the color of the car though.
  11. I'd pass on it. It's always cheaper to just find a clean shell to start with, than to buy a rusty shell and fix it.
  12. I usually don't like modified tail lights, but those look really good! This car should look great when it's finished.
  13. Is it likely my car may now be misaligned if I did not put in any bracing? If so, it looks like I will be doing quite a bit of extra work.
  14. Since the 240z is good from the firewall back, it sounds like a great contender for a front tube chassis.
  15. While we're on the topic - would it be ok to replace one side without the x-brace if it's just a BARE shell, on a rotisserie? Looks like I should have researched this a bit more...
  16. It happened to me a few times last night.
  17. I like the idea you have for the LED turn signals. I might just have to use that idea myself.
  18. I think they're Kodiak wheels. Almost positive. Although, those look a little bit different than the ones I'm thinking of, but it might just be me.
  19. Remember, Carfax doesn't work with S30's. IIRC, only cars with a 17 digit VIN will work.
