  1. I'm not sure which engine came out of the STi, but my plan was to cut the front end off my 240Z and put that motor there. I was hoping to be the first to do it, but I guess maybe that won't happen. Go for it.
  2. I was waiting for something to break, and have it come off the dyno or something.
  3. The respray is also pretty sloppy. Paint on the hatch window seal, missed some spots in gaps, etc. The shift knob doesn't look any better than the e-brake handle. Battery tray "clamp" looks odd, but it may be the pictures. The thing on the lip behind the seats looks all cut up too. Clean car, but there's quite a few things wrong with it. Not "OMG" material, IMO. I'm probably wrong on this, but aren't those the incorrect carbs for a '72? I thought the 70-72 carbs were the desirable ones, so I'm not sure why they changed them out. Wrong steering wheel too, if I'm not mistaken, but I don't think they were going for a stock restoration. However, I think the older steering wheels look better.
  4. Funny you would mention black chrome, as I was thinking of doing my bumpers, all my stainless trim, and my C-pillar badge in black chrome recently. I think it would look great!
  5. Since it's a low production number Z car, maybe you'd have better luck selling it on classiczcars?
  6. It won't interchange. I compared my S30 and S130 a while ago and it's very clear they won't interchange. Edit: I think I misunderstood what part you're talking about. I was referring to the rubber piece that bolts to the car.
  7. What did you use for paint? I like the color.
  8. I think its definitely fixable. Go for it, and have fun!
  9. I am also a big fan of speedgato's spoiler. In addition to what's posted above, I'm wondering if he reinforced the lip of the hatch, since it doesn't look too sturdy as is, at least to me. If it's necessary, I was thinking of welding in some bracing from the bottom of the lip, all the way across it, to that flat piece on the hatch where the latch is mounted. Hopefully that made sense. I checked on my parents 280Z, and doing such a thing shouldn't interfere with the hatch closing properly.
  10. OTM, is this the one you're talking about?
  11. Why not just keep your current Z as a project, and get the '72 as a DD or something?
  12. I agree. The fabric looks like it was improperly cut and measured or something, the stitches don't seem to follow the lines of the dash very closely.
  13. You're not the only one I'd say the amount of rust my 240Z makes it unique. More than Mull has. And it's bent too! I've got some good ideas for this one...
  14. Nope, TeamNissan's banned user title isn't custom.
  15. He says the shell is not worth salvaging... but from what little I can see in the pics it doesn't look all that bad. Maybe someone could get a good deal on a shell? I'd hate to see a good shell scrapped...
  16. That's some good motivation to get my Z back together, since my L28 also has triple weber carbs I miss the sound...
  17. My 240Z was also missing the door jamb plate, but I managed to find out the build date by the seat belts, if they are original. There should be a tag on them somewhere which should tell you.
  18. Hmm... that does look like a pretty big problem, but worse things have been fixed, and it's a pretty early car. To someone, it's worth fixing.
  19. I'd sell it whole. Doesn't look like theres anything major wrong with it.
