i was there for a little bit on the first meet, and i must say, i was impressed by the showings of both the gtr skyline, and zdrifters car. you both had really nice rides, what i wish would have happened though was all the Z's park together, because 1 fast Z and his crew were a few parking lots west of where zdrifter and akwikz was, but i do want to thank everyone, i went to my shop sunday morning and was busting ass trying to get the FJ20 wired up. you guys defintely motivated me, to say the least. im not too anxious to drive the Z around in this rain and during summer, but hopefully towards the end of august, early september, i'll be parked right next to you guys . peace till next time! and keep this thread going cause im still down to stop by even though i won't be in my 280.

New headlights that bolt right up!!!
FJ 280z replied to dizzle's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
those aren't the OEM h2 lights, those are aftermarket HID's that cost 1k for the pair, but that is some good info to know.... -
she looks like 5'2" or something, too short for me, short girls don't do much for me, sorry......
-
damn 1 fast z, you even spelled phoenix wrong in your sig....lol....its all good though, by the way, i saw your silver z with the itb's at pavilions, pretty sweet, i remember that car going to SCC when i went there, who goes to school there? i don't know if you remember a white nissan 720 truck with some loud mikuni's trying to race you a few years ago outside school, well, like i said, tried....never happened, trucks gone anyways. cool manifold by the way.

that is so rediculous, the amount of particulates that came out just from that run...i can feel my life shortening by a day or two allready

in response to that crossflow SOHC head that is shown, that really really looks like a k24 head, or even a z24 style head, if you look at how the oil filler cap is, the exhaust flange (2 together) the way the spark plugs are set up (2 together in the middle) and how the curves are on the valve cover, that looks almost identical to a z24 head( if you put like 3 or 4 of em together). just thought i'd throw that out for discussion.

i gotta say some of those scions are freaking awesome, alot of work and detail, i think they will even start a new trend, like graphic design pain jobs, i really like the blood red and white one, i wonder what that would look like on a Z. thanks for the link!

I wonder why they opted not to use velocity stacks inside that plenum instead of just sections of tube? Maybe they've just got an internal radius? if you read what the fabricator wrote about the intake manifold, he's not finished with it and the tubes you see inside are actually too long and are just for mock up and are later going to be made into velocity stacks. alot of fabrication going on there, see how those t3/60-1 are pretty much hanging on by some wire, alot of weight on those headers. nicely made equal length headers though.

that thing is pretty insane, i hope he figures out how not to have his bumper block >50% of his intercooler

Strut Shortening - AZ guys
FJ 280z replied to Mike Mileski's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
don't get me wrong, theres nothing wrong with MIG welding, if i weld mine myself it would be with my MIG welder, but if i was to pay someone to weld for me, I can easily take anything down to full-race and they will TIG weld it for me, with the amount of side work i have em do, they would probably do all 4 for less than 100 bucks..... -
Strut Shortening - AZ guys
FJ 280z replied to Mike Mileski's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
do you have any pics of what he did? i take it these are TIG welds right? -
are you sure it doesn't have ac? looks like AC controls to the right of the steering wheel. damn, that cockpit is cramped, i drive a few s2k's at my work and i HATE how HOT the black ones are during summer, black on black parked in a lot during an arizona summer and i gotta drive it around to fix it........ i feel like that smiley......

i think arizonazcar.com sells a slightly adjustable one

another jack of all trades here, well, first off full time college student studying international business administration, done every job possible from a lifeguard, to a sushi chef, to a telemarketer, to my very semi-somewhat lovely job as a honda/acura mechanic at a small shop, i also run the shop/office sometimes when the boss is gone, but all that means is i roll my Z into the big bay and get paid to work on it.

everything you need to know is listed on the auction website. if your looking for feedback on the seller, thats wolf creek racing, they are a east coast parts supplier and have been racing datsuns and nissans for 20 or 30 years. i bought alot of parts from wolf creek over the years and im sure other members here have, they are legit, and sell the best parts available PERIOD. if you want feedback on the cv kit though, probably won't find any on this board as they have only been making and selling that kit for a few months, i could be wrong though, someone could have it here on a Z, but i havn't heard anything as of yet. it is definetly without a doubt worth the money though, they are a top notch seller. heres thier website: http://www.wolfcreekracing.com

we use B&B machine at my work, but usually to do headwork, resurfacing and valve jobs, they got a nice setup, but are really really BUSY, ive been in there a few times and they have head jobs stacked up higher than me, but overall, good guys. can't say much about thier block work as i have never used them for that, but try calling full-race in phoenix, and ask them who they would refer for import machine work, they usually have skylines in there having work done, so who knows.
-
i think you need to enter a destruction derby with a bumper like that, geez
-
i don't know of they have done that specific mod, but if i can refer a machine shop, probably scottsdale machine, they do really good work thier, i had a bunch of engine and head work done their and the head guy there, i think his name is dave, does a really good job.

are you staying your trying to make a log style turbo manifold with a t3 flange from a vg30et and a wasegate at the end of the log style manifold? you can do it it just would not flow that well. your best bet is to use a l28et exhaust manifold and create some kind of drawthrough for the turbo. what size turbo is it anyways? as far as specs for intake manifold runner size, do a search in the fab forum, people have specs of custom and mass produced intake manifolds somewehre there. depending on your hp wishes, you shouldn't need more than 2" id that should probably taper down.

you can put it on your endtank, i've seen full-race do it all the time

Step by Step - Installing an LSD into your open diff
FJ 280z replied to JMortensen's topic in Powertrain
not to sound like an idiot or anything, but is this for installing like a brute power LSD, or a quife LSD into the nissan r200 rear end, or a OEM nissan LSD. i have a LSD out of a q45, will that go into the open R200 in my 280z or am i comparing apples and oranges? -
if you go to yahoo japan auctions, i see everything from full weber conversion kits(manifold, carbs, linkage, etc) to fj24 nismo headers, to flywheels, clutches, and turbokits
