  1. Hmmmm. the R33 RB25 rack fits the S14 and can use the same parts for the links, right? I might just get that instead cause I remember everything- even the steering pump- swaps over.... except for the lines, they need modification. Then I'll have two pans and I can sell my 200zr pan and pickup and not worry about modifying the sump / tube too much.
  2. Thanks for the replys R-J, Hmm, I feel no shame in admitting I don't quite fully get the heater core modification you speak of. Can you enlighten me a bit more, please? As for the actual modifications to the cylinders, some people usually bore out 5 and 6 a little wider. I'm not sure why... is that due to expansion caused by heat, or are people deliberately trying to get a skim of oil to slip passed the rings and cool down the combustion temps? It's a toss up I know of some mods, I just don't know why people do them. These are things like the oil restrictors that are often just assumed to be good, or things to do without knowing why. I'm just having trouble finding why more than how in some cases like this... But just about all of the information I find on HybridZ is damn good
  3. 36 views, hmmm? I guess I'm asking for a bit too much, or we're all in the same situation. lol. it's understandable. RB30DE.com is mine now, and I'll be putting it all online there. Cheers guys. IF YOU WANT to help, anything is appreciated.
  4. http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=skyline+oil+cooler&category0= sandwich plate i think its what you're looking for. or oil relocation/distribution block. they can be used to relocate the filter, adapt an oil cooler. or both.
  5. here's a smiley. we coo so do you care to explain how one would mount the sensor in there? is it threaded? or do i have to zip off the end of the oriface, as it's blocked off. I guess the sensor COULD probably just sit in there and get heat from the little prong that is blocking off the hole. Also, for an S14, what pan would one use? Because if its a RB25 pan I have two, and I have an 200ZR pan here that i'll have to get rid of =/ LOL. just wondering.
  6. well 486 is a damn good price I was quoted 600 here. =(
  7. That' why I said that's what it 'looks' like. LOL chill, chill! either way, the 200zr pan has it, and the RB25/30 pan does not.
  8. I can get you the part number for the crank pulley bolt, as well as ship out the one i bought. I bought 2 RB25 ones and 1 RB26 one, because I had a feeling the RB25 one was correct, and wanted an extra, but got the 26 incase. the RB25 matches the thread and size of the RB30, but I might be able to use the RB26 cause the 25 one is sloppy and wobbly (just like the stock one. LOL) so i can get you a part number as well as ship mine out to you. You can message Paul Broomfield: office5[at]vpw.com.au tell him Raffaele told you about the balancer =) alternatively, you can go to google and search Rollmaster for their website. if the ATi is too much, try out the Ross Machine or the Fluidampr if they have one yet. it should be 200 bucks less than ATi, and it's a quality brand. So is romac but I know of no one who's used one on an RB yet.
  9. for extra what? and whats the diff between gsx1000 and 600 tb's ? size i guess? injector size too? what else? are they good to use as well?
  10. I'm sorry to hear that someone form this site would do that. It's not the right pan. The 200ZR pan you need has a rounded bowl and a turbo drain inlet (at least that's what it looks like on my pan, but it's blocked)
  11. Hey Gents So, since our RB forum is flourishing just as fast as any other, I've started to compile my information that I've saved and taken note of within my limited engine assembly. It's obviously not the end all and be all, but there are some things I'd like to include that I'm afraid I don't have enough information to portray successfully. 1) head-coolant mod. I've seen some installs, but none are too great in depth, and If someone who's done it can message me exclusively and set me up with some good info so I could acquire parts before I get my head, that way I can do it as soon as it comes (with all the intake piping attached) 2) the 5th & 6th cylinder lean condition. I'd need to investigate the causes and the symptoms that occur with the supporting elements associated with those two cylinders. If anyone has access to this information, or cares to share, I shall give credit on a "per section" basis of the guide (that way copycats cannot just delete the last page ) I do this publication and editorial design stuff as a career, but I am not making any money off this. I don't own a publishing company and it's definately not going to be something people can't live without. I'm looking to put something together for us that perhaps we could password as well (serialized, too). It's not a security issue, it's just that if someone needs information, they can come here and contribute their experiences, rather than get the information from a site that claims it as their own. If you want to give the file to someone, just link them here. More traffic opens up more opportunity, and the site owners get something out of it too. Everyone is credited, gets benefits from it, and it's fair game. I'd like to create this with my up and coming company, in accordance with HybridZ, PrimeEMS, and RIPSNZ if interested. If not, I'm going to have to host it on my up and coming company's website. No company secrets needed. If you consider something a secret, let me know, and I'll pop in a phone number and a website for more information. That keeps it concise yet elaborate enough to get someone's creative juices flowing. And it gives you a reason to share something. There are no RB books that I'm aware of, so perhaps this can apply to a wider range of RB tech in the future. If someone seriously needs to know how one person did that and why this company does this thing, they can call you and pay for it. A Nissan FAST guide will be included as well, so people can find whatever parts they need. The reason I need assistance is because I'm not going to turbocharge or supercharge my engine, and you can bet people will be looking in there for Turbo tech. I don't wanna limit the information to my build specifically. Who's in? PM me with interest. I've got some good helpers already, it's just difficult to keep everything organized when dealing with files all day away from leisure stuff like this, I'm basically starting from half way to where I've been already. This way I can consolidate my info a little better and keep it easy to read. Anyone with information on sections that I should make will be a good help. This isn't a "do it this way cause its the best". It's much like Cube's RB30 guide, except a bit more indepth, and with some more pictures (because I'll be taking them in high-res all by myself, using product shot boxes and such... I have them) I can also send preliminary copies to those who assist for some feedback and criticism/input. Aye Aye, gents! These RB's need some clearing up, and I MIGHT catalogue the PDF so searching is easier too. LOL I'd LOVE to put a server-side counter that would send a ticket to my email everytime someone uses the "search" feature on the PDF, but I don't see it happening, and I don't see it being used anyway. HAHAHA Accepting all pm's now =) Oh, and I'm still shipping out small skyline parts if you need'm and can't find em. Let me know if you guys need some engine bits and pieces. Raffaele
  12. are these using the bearings i sent out? or did u not receive them yet. lemme know =)
  13. my sole intention what I like to do is often tell them that I've talked to one of them before, who then transfered me to a fictitious person, who transfered me to someone else, who transfered me back to them. that usually gets me the equivalent of 2 full hours of complaint calls. HAHAHA
  14. the sump may be a problem with the 280zx front crossmember. the front drive axles need only be removed in order to have the car be RWD. Driveshaft fitment you'd need to check. There is no AWD S130 with an RB26 box that I know of. It might be worth it to sell to someone and get a 25box. and 5.5 K? you can find that for 4.5 or less infact, you can get one with an RB25 transmission for about 4.5 give or take. that should set you right up as for the custom sump, greddy and trust make weld'on sumps =) so if ur old man is a welder, buy one, and then get the dimensions, copy it, and then sell the greddy one ebay when you're done not a bad idea.
  15. I know that, but I think there is a misunderstanding here. My car is a bare shell, and i have the ownership and everything. I don't want to do the body work to find out that the car is deemed as stolen, or not in my possession. It then becomes the possession of the police or what have you, if infact, I don't carry a vin number that matches the ownership. The problem with "bringing it to the ministry" is that it's not a rolling chassis. The problem with the registry office is that they told me that they can't change the vin number from what was input into the system. I hope that bringing in the vin plate will have them believe me. but I have a feeling that our system isn't so loose. which isn't a bad thing, I don't mind extra security if it's going to be there when I'm not looking. But for things like this, it becomes an issue. It's a good thing I work near the last registered owner, and we both work near an MTO office Anyways, thanks for all the replies, gents. I'm going to call the ministry ASAP to figure out wtf i'm going to do with this thing. I like the car, because it possess a lot of work, which I want to do in order to learn some new things. Granted the chassis itself is not worth much, but I want to use this car. I'll report back incase someone is in a similar dilemma later.
  16. Those rims possess a very nice wire pattern and look great on your car.
  17. where!? how?! I wanna do an ITB setup on my friend's B20B civic
  18. how else would the race have started... you were at a drag strip!
  19. I usually go further than the wobble test and give it a good body check. seriously.
  20. why'd you purchase that? it's available online in various forms. tisk tisk. and as for the MAFs. use two TT Z32 mafs or two Q45 mafs if you want to handle big power
  21. JPS rocks. that dude sent out my solid steel billet flywheel before he even sent out the email of delivery, and by the time i got the email, the flywheel had been at my parents house 2 days prior. I got the flywheel on wednesday, it had been there since monday, and i ordered it over a weekend, on friday night. talk about speed shipping. and it was packaged with cool japanese retail chain flyers. They have the most amazing cook wear!
  22. FS5W71C is the codename for the transmission. it is in fact the same transmission, however, the gear ratios are different for either of the RB20, SR20, CA18, and KA24 tranmissions behind the bell-housing, they are all the same, except for the gear ratios. I too, have heard that the rebuild kit works on either.
  23. Prolax...that plenum kit you show there is the same as the one i posted on the RB forums in regards to making your own plenum. However, if it's going on an L engine... as someone mentioned; it will hit the hood due to it's throttle body position. The better idea would be to go with the 1J or 2JZ intakes that the same fellow on ebay sells, as the intake is on the same side as the L, and it would point either forward or downward, and might give you a better clearance for what you're trying to achieve. go git'm!
  24. That's last resort. Because I know that if I move it from where it is, something else is going to go where it is now, and it will be stuck outside for the winter, just getting more rust on it, which isn't cool. I'll call them on monday to see what I have to do. =(
