great idea! just squeege it off to the end and it will leak down into a catch-all.

I want that adjustability for certain projects, so If I do need to raise the thing, I'll use a jack, as I have many laying around that I can use.... But we'll see when we get there. And the castors HAVE to be there, because It's not my garage, and at any point it may have to be moved to one side to allow the owner of the garage to put some stuff there temporarily. e-racer, there will be a row of rubbermade tubs underneath the thing so that I can put my temporarily used tools there, and anything I don't use, i usually don't leave hanging around, i always clean up. PopnWood, i think i'm going to buy some fence pipe or sprinkler pipe as well, my dad had a bunch, but he left them at the house we moved from. I like the idea of the welding cart, but my welder is 4 feet tall LOL, and it commands it's own share of space, so i'll keep that where it is. great ideas gents!

yeah i was unsure if i was supposed to give the balancer my flywheel and my pressure plate casing, or just the flywheel itself. now i know

a lot of standard muffers have re-routed exhaust fumes or baffles that are in V shape or reverse V shape to split or collect the plumes to slow them down, allowing the exhaust to fill the muffler with enough smoke to deaden the sound. I don't think this would be too restrictive. If they had a mode that would allow half open, that would be better though. I bet it's possible to wire up.

The following is in reference to the picture below. Relay on the left of square E: 25224L becomes 25230-79964 Relay 25224CB becomes 25230-79971 as well as 25230-79971 Relay There is no indication regarding the difference of either CB relay that is readable in any sense through the FAST system, as it's mostly Japanese as well as garbled text. My advice is to get both relays if they're not expensive, or special order. That way you can return the ones that do not work. Relay under the ECU on square C: 25224M becomes NO PART NUMBER AVAILABLE

I totally understand where you're coming from. Take a look at the threads I've made in the RB section about my engine build to see why I'm all for whatever build you consider. I have my opinions about certain engines, but in my eyes, any engine in a Z is cool by me, as long as it moves as well as the original or provides some sort of advantage in another area that the L6 does not. That, to me, is cool enough for any Z do the QR it'll just add to the amount of cool projects on this board, and that's what makes hybridz better than any other z board. Raff

Manual? You can get electronic ones here as well man, look on ebay there are all kinds. "exhaust cutouts" is what you're looking for. However, the Varex is unique because of the length of pipe and resonators run within the muffler can housing.

His question is the same as the one that i've been pondering. do you also include the pressure plate assembly, minus the clutch disc as well?

as for the ECCS relay.. tell me what it looks like and where it's located, or I can't help you there without flooding the site with pics.

Here's the page I took a screen-shot of, below. The GREEN are what I think you're looking for. The BLUE item is another o-ring that you may need. 11603G becomes 16636-V5000 Insulator-Injector 11603F becomes 16636-78A00 Insulator-Injector 16412F becomes 16618-78A00 Seal-O Ring Each are 6 per vehicle, and are for the R33 GT-R head.

I sure hope it's not as lame as the Z FIGHTERS movie you did. i was hoping that it would have more on the cars, and not some funky acting and pew pew lazers, to be honest. But making movies for fun sure beats sitting inside and doing nothing =(

works for me, just type it into your address bar. it's easy to see that when it's clicked on, it has the hybridz address infront of it.

mazzuri super exhaust makes exhausts for IS300's and also collectors for inline 6's. google it! they sound nice too

if you made wood benches, why wouldn't you just top them off with a thick metal plate? that will allow you to weld.
-
which eeprom does the 84-85 carry? I can find an exact replacement if it's too difficult to find in the usual places.

good ideas guys, and nice work tables you have set up. NCchris, do you have a completed picture with the top setup all bolted on if there is such a thing for your workbench? I think the metal office desk on castors is a good idea too, I'm going to look into that right now.

you still have not listed the model of the skyline it came from, as they used different injector styles, so I need to know which chassis it was pulled from as well as where this relay is located and where it goes in whatever box it plugs into. there isnt enough of the english language presented in the diagrams to tell me which is which. i can post them later

these are great ideas gentlemen. johnc, as much as I'd like to make it that thick on the top, I think I'll only be going roughly 12 or 10 guage sheet, and have it comprised of two pieces so it's cheaper and easier to dismantle and position in the side of the garage if I have to for some odd reason (we move a lot of stuff in and out). I think I will use some sort of shelving for the base. It might actually be worth it if I get another piece of shelving like the one I have against the two walls in the garage and cut it in 3 pieces, so that my room mate can have one too. It might be cheaper and pre-fabbed to a point where it will just take a couple of hours to complete, and then I can add other things. The bench grinder or vice will be closer to one corner, and the drill press will be on the opposite corner on the same side though, so that I can rest long ply's on the edge of the work bench and support the overhanging part by a sturdy saw horse. That way, I can cut large pieces of wood the entire length by setting up a rip-fence using a long aluminum C channel and some clamps, and rip down the grain with a portable circular saw (that's how i used to build my speaker boxes, and it works as well as a table saw and takes less room, cause the wood doesnt move) any other things that I should put on there? I like the idea of kitchen cabinets, maybe i'll put one in th middle that is accessible from both sides. perhaps i'll just make it out of MDF and roller-paint it with wood glue so that it doesnt absorb moisture.

Ideally what i'd like to do is create templated mounting holes for doing various jobs on various things. almost like a lego blocks set. If i need to do head work, I'll pull out the adjustable engine head mount. transmission work will have the hole you talked about.... drill press and vice will have their area beside eachother. hmmmm... what kind of tool holder should I have on the side of this thing?
-
nice I was also thinking of putting one of those retracting-arm work lamps with the big magnifying glass. my dad has one laying around and It could be really useful for soldering small connectors and such. Should I connect a power bar to the thing too? I want to be able to go anywhere in the backyard if I need ot so i want to have a reel on there that I can use to reel in the cable when I'm done. I think that's a good idea.

i ALMOST cried cause I thought that was a Z careening into the guard rail. then i realized it was a lowly porsche

if the grinding wheel is moving at 11000 RPM, thats roughly 185 rotations per second. Camera will take a picture at 1000th of a second and do pretty good at stopping it.

What kind of work tables do you guys use or have used? Did you make them yourself?! Any Schematics? I'm going to be building on soon, and I'm trying to follow some criteria: 1) movable, with locking caster wheels. 2) bout 7 feet long, 2.5 feet wide. 3) metal top, for ground clamping, with plywood under padding for sound absorption. 4) a bit taller than waist height, but also cotter-pin adjustable legs. 5) Storage underneath for about two 68L rubbermaid totes, and 4 smaller ones. 6) some sort of small parts tray 7) mounting points for vice and drill press 8) small removable magnetic tray. what other things can you guys think of that I would need to put on there?

you were probably confused by the AUS export R31 skylines that had the RB30. i like RB30's

that looks like he was trying to build a Ferrari 330 TR replica, if anything. The lines are close enough to tell what it is, but far enough so that it warrants a Molotov cocktail tossed into the passenger compartment. props to him for doing all that fibreglass work though!
