  1. have to say...this is pretty cool!
  2. to be honest that doesn't look too terrible. they look more like heat marks.
  3. I love the video description "kind of a busy street". LOL. I saw a total of like 2 other cars in your direction on that video. ahahaha MOAR VIDEO OR GTFO!
  4. first, rub them down with #0000 Fine steel wool. it will remove any trace surface rust on the lobes or any small scratches. Then if they look pitted, take them to a crankshaft grinder and ask them to micro-polish the lobes if they are willing to do so. If all goes bad, Upgrade time!
  5. with that setup if you remove the clutch fan you could run a sweet v-mount setup similar to the z31 style radiator and have extremely short piping for the IC.
  6. If it allows you to retain the factory idle air control devices and lets you position a front mount intercooler easier, I say go for it. you probably won't lose enough horsepower to even notice if it's a flawed design, but the ease of install for an FMIC makes up for that.
  7. not really feelin' it. but i like variance in our zeds. once it's got some baller wheels and a nice paint job, i bet it would have a nice touch mustang louvers might be cool. i don't mind them... but they are clearly from another era.
  8. sorry didn't mean to correct you. lol I was actually wondering if there was more to the procedure, as it seems as though the cam would be rubbing on the edge of the lifter bucket when you look at it, but i guess it all depends on the lobe ramp of the camshaft... larry @ endyne says the tomei ones they've tested, and they are the best design.
  9. now i can honestly say 2 of the deals of a life-time passed me at the most in-opportune time of my car-life.
  10. which injectors? they are called pintle caps. some injectors flow very high numbers with little degradation in spray-pattern when they're removed (subaru injectors of sorts) some flow marginally worse due to pattern inconsistency and fuel droplets spewing out rather than spray.
  11. 6 ton jackstands, propped on the lowest strong point of the car or 12 ton jackstands anywhere usually has me getting tired from holding the air tools in the air 2 feet above the ground... I'm 5'7, 175lbs, and we're talking about a z31. with the transmission out, i installed the flywheel with my head in the tunnel and enough room to wield a torque wrench and have sockets on my lap and a light infront of me. they go pretty high, these ones!
  12. Buckets Machined? you mean the edge of the lifter bore, for clearancing...? or resurfacing the lifter buckets?
  13. check the plugs firstly to make sure. If you wanna hang out on saturday if I'm done with the engine removal early (or if I'm tired out), I can bring some tools to the front of the house and we can trouble-shoot... I got a lot of electrical doohickeys. are you using the stock ECU? ignitor chip? and is the coolant temperature sensor working ok?
  14. not having been in a 2.6 litre rotary powered car... I am still anxious to see when the first 3.3 litre 5-rotor makes its debut. i think martians will come to earth before that happens, but i dunno what's cooler, martians or a 5 rotor.
  15. I may be using an entirely different front cross-member for my s30 project or my z31 project in the future, so i'm going to sell my 200zr pan, and pickup tube + tube gasket... my only option is to do a custom pan, so...
  16. supra or GTR fuel pump looks like a better idea, and there's one on ebay now for 150 bucks (GTR pump). lower voltage, higher volume.
  17. actually here's a flow graph mtcookson posted a long time ago. I just found it on another thread cause I knew it was somewhere. pretty much sums it up here... (See Attachments)
  18. They are 260lph... but as stated, being old isn't one of the good things about them... and the walbro's I believe are rated at 12 volts @ 255lph... I believe the 260lph is either based on a 14.4 volt rating or a 18 volt rating (18 volts being the max that nissan fuel pumps are usually good to operate at, but life is short lived).
  19. The question now is.... how much are you guys willing to pay for a 200zr oil pan. LOL
  20. When does it sputter? What kind of sputter?
  21. lol 5 hours? wanna help pull my VG30 this weekend ?
  22. yes you can. it's an upgrade for a lot of nissan's and an alternative to aftermarket pumps that will work for engines we never got here... but a walbro 255 lph would probably be cheaper, probably easier to fit in your gas-tank, and i think they out-flow the z32TT pump.
