  1. Sell it on Ebay and get a LT1 T56. Tim
  2. Here is the post guys: http://www.ws6zxr.com/showthread.php?threadid=21352 Tim
  3. Yeah...I agree. Unless you really want the 'bragging rights' to say "I built it myself", go crate motor! The prices are very reasonable (esp. if you can pick it up yourself, and not pay shipping) and you get a warranty. If you make a mistake putting it together and blow it up.......you'll have to start all over again. You can use the RV motor as a dummy though! Use it to put in the Z, make all the bracketry and fuel lines, fans etc, then order your crate weight.....that way you won't have a bunch of $$$ tied up sitting in your garage while you're building. Tim

  8. Well...tested again today and it passed way low! N.O. went from 1133ppm to 30ppm. The alcohol in the tank and 'driving it clean' (aka driving like I stole it). whoo hoo!! Tim
  9. Here is some reading for you: http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=20565&highlight= Tim
  10. I have a set of 16x7 Centerlines. the BS is 4 inches if I remember right. Tim
  11. Mike, When you say "into the engine", you mean into the oil? Tim
  12. Alex, It's a plastic cell. Just for reference, my Dad's Camaro (trans am series type racing..) uses a cell with rearward dumps, and foam, most road racing cars do. Tim
  13. I passed great on the 25mph test, but failed NOx miserably on the 15mph test (almost double the max allowable). HC and CO were fine. My idea was maybe CAT was bad, but it was replaced in '99! Could it be that the O2 sensors are getting 'lazy'? Any ideas. Is there some 'juice' that I can add to get me passed. Thanks, Tim
  14. Alex, I think the cheapest route is the Summit 'pro stock' 16 gal cell. Comes with sender etc. You will just need to mount it. I made a metal box in place of the spare tire. Tim
  15. The VERY reason why I do things myself! Tim
  16. Well, if the custom pine hood pole is anything to go by..... :malebitchslap: Tim
  17. They will fit, but are far from ideal.. BTW, I have a set of those summit headers...never installed. Tim
  18. Dan, From what I remember hearing from posts on the board is that you have to go with an aftermarket pulley system, like March etc and mount the AC compressor up above the valve cover, but I don't believe that anyone has actually done it (prohibitive cost for us poor Z guys.) Tim
  19. You will want to have it separated from the driver compartment somehow. if you get into a wreck and the cell ruptures, you don't want fuel spraying all over you. Plus, snactioning bodies will never let you run it at the track or strip that way. Tim
  20. I move the knock sensor to the passenger side of the block, just above the oil filter boss. There is a blind hole there that just needs to be drilled out slightly and tapped to accept the threads of the KS. I also had to very slightly grind a bit off the edge of the block at the bellhousing boss to clear the 'bulb' part of the knock sensor. Remember, the oem location of the KS is in a coolant passage, so you will need a plug for the hole once you remove the KS. Tim
  21. Please use the search function. This topic has been discussed at length. Thanks, Tim
  22. I could spend that same amount of cash, but I don't think that my wife would appreciate the LT4 head/cam kit on her finger Wow, that's serious boulder there!!
  23. I have one of those plumbed into my rear brake line. Haven't gotten the car on the road yet, but it should work well. Get rid of the oem proportioning valve though, and you will need some special fittings, and a flaring tool.. I got mine from Earl's (fittings that is). Tim
  24. Have to wait untl the car is painted to install, but I did loosely install the main hatch seal and the rubber is nice and soft and supple and the fit was perfect. Hope that helps...the quality 'appears' top be excellent. Tim
