Did you measure how much the slave is moving the fork?
  2. From a Ford powerstroke on Ebay Tim
  3. I seem to remember reading horror stories about the AFM causing headaches and certain sensors going bad and being hard to troubleshoot. Any validity to these statements? Tim
  4. Larry, The day has finally come huh? I will obviously hold all the parts that you purchased from me until your day in the sunlight comes. I hope that with current overcrowding issues, they let you go early! I know this has been a long hard fight to this point, but we won't forget you while you're gone. I will write to you and update the guys here on your progress. I'm sure we will all miss your off-kilter sense of the world!! Best of luck man.....I hope that you're still a virgin when you get out My address is posted in the announcement forum under the topic of donations. Keep in touch. Tim

    Funny stuff

OMFG, My eyes are watering...I am in hysterical fits of laughter!!! Tim
  6. Denny, No one is perfect all the time. If you have it apart, check the clearances. You'll have piece of mind. Tim
  7. Re-balance the entire assembly. Like you said...safer. Also it gives you the opportunity to plasti-gauge the bearing clearances to check if the assembly was done correctly. Tim
  8. Thanks Cody, If the water pump goes out, I'll probably get one of the new CSi electric ones The starter is a new 'reconditioned' one, so that's ok. It may be my imagination, but I can sometimes feel a bit of very (very) slight hesitation while cruising, almost like a bit of wind buffering, but no wind, and the digital tach appears to be fluctuating/flickering one bar or so. I will likely replace the dizzy cap and wires, and spark plugs and generally give it a service with a new oil filter and some synthetic oil. The car was smogged very recently and was ok, except the hydrocarbons were right at the max! Anything else I should look into? Thanks, Tim
  9. Can you guys who have been long time owners of ZXTs give me some info on which parts typically go bad, and what those particular symptoms are? Reason: I just got a 1983 ZXT with all the trimmings and don't have a good maintenance history on it. Apparently the Turbo has been rebuilt, and it appears that the engine has been opened (at least the head off). This has become my daily driver, and already has 170,000 miles on it and at this point drives beatifully, but I'm waiting for something to go south, so I'd like to do some preventive maintenance on the common stuff before it becomes an issue. Thanks, Tim
  10. My 2c: Deal with it and move on. We've probably all been there, done that....dwelling on the past means you're facing the wrong direction......turn around and look forward: To the future!!!
  11. In all the patching work I've done (and there has been A BUNCH on my V8 project car), I have had almost ZERO warpage, by tacking at opposite sides and laying a damp rag on the weld right afterwards. While this isn't necessarily a good practice for welding (tends to make the weld brittle), for body panels that have very little stress or structural needs, it's not a problem. Tim

Wow!!! Did you look at their prices!! I would have to take out a second mortgage on my house to get a set.Tim
  13. Cool little calculator if you want to change tire size but keep your speedo accurate: web page Tim
  14. Just about anything you ever wanted to know. An excellent reference site worth bookmarking. Here is a turbo cal program linked from teh above site: web page I put in the data for an intercooled TTsbc, with a max rpm of 6400 and 8lbs of boost. Here is what it told me: MAKE TYPE COMPRESSOR TRIM TURBINE HSG A/R Garrett T3 50 0.820000000000000 Tim
  15. Sorry Dave, that's G-15 classified...if I told you I'd have to kill you!! All I can say is, when completed, it will be a LFO (low flying object for you non-classified folks ) Tim
  16. It's also going to depend on how close your exhaust is to the fuel cell. I shielded it by using a foil type (with bubble wrap type air pockets in between the foil layers) on the inside of the fuel cell box. Just another option. Tim
  17. Just a thought here: Maybe one of the members here who lives nearby, can pick it up for? You could send the $$$$ to that member (maybe with some gas $$$) and they can ship it for you. Tim

You may still have air in the line, or you may need to adjust your clutch pedal rod. How much free play do you have on your pedal before it begins to contact? Tim
  19. Larry, I though you were going to be able to hold back the dobermans for a good few years? I guess they are snapping at your heels, huh!! Tim
  20. Actually, I prefer to use a heavier gauge for the patch piece because it allows me to use a slightly hotter arc and allow the molten steel to flow very gently onto the peice being repaired. That way the heat of the molten steel is 'welding' the piece being repaired and not the arc from the welder. Just my 2c..... Tim
  21. Damn Larry....I think you may be giving Terry a run for his money as fiberglass guru on HybridZ!!! Cool Stuff man....now, how about the pantera hatch? Tim
  22. Mike C., Just wondering why you went 205mm tires instead od 225mm ones? Clearance issues or good deal issues? I want to put 225/50-16s on my new 16x7 Ceterlines. Tim
