  1. Brakes are another issue entirely and have nothing to do with the r230 conv. Tim
  2. Not yet. I also said somewhere that I was not comfortable supplying a 'kit' that was untested. Since my car is still a month or so away from completion, it will be some time. You'll have to have a custom driveshaft made, as well as side shafts. There are a few pics on my site. Tim
  3. I picked mine up from a JY for $260 with axles. You will need 2 sets of axles so that you can use 4 inner CVs. Tim
  4. The R230 from a 300Zx TT, or Infinity Q45 can reportedly hold massive power, and had LSD to boot. Some members here are running them, as am (will) I. Remember, traction kills diffs, not power. A member here once wrote that he knew of some 1000hp Q45s in Japan using stock rears. If the search function is working correctly again, just search on "R230" and you'll find a wealth of info. Tim
  5. Wow, the bodywork is clean on that car!! Kudos. Tim

  7. When I did the Vortec conversion in my truck, I just went to the parts store and asked for a set of plugs for a 96 Denali. Tim
  8. I have the Corbeau Clubmans in my 240. I agree that the non-reclining racing seats are no good for a daily driver. I've only climbed in and out a few times to check the fit and spacing (belts, seats etc) and with the rollcage and the seats, it's a PITA, and that's without the steering wheel!!!! Tim
  9. I saw that video in a Nissan advert at the last movie I saw in the theatre. Kick @ss clip!!! made me want to rush out and buy a 350Z right there and then!! Tim
  10. Lewis, I gutted ALL the wires out of mine and started from scratch. I did not want to rely on 30 year old wiring. It's not that big of a deal. I am also using aftermarket gauges etc. The longest time was sorting out the wires for the LT1 PCM. I am also not running a stereo, heater windshield wipers defrosters etc, but adding those circuits would be easy. Tim
  11. As far as I know the 'off the shelf' harnesses are very expensive. I started from scratch with supplies from Waytek wire. I posted the part numbers a few months ago. This is what mine looks like (to work with the LT1): Tim
  12. van, PAW (performance Automotive wharehouse), or summit. PAW is 1 mile from my office, so if you want to save on shipping and handling, let me know. Tim
  13. Back when my Dad was racing rotaries in standard saloon class (RX7), he went whole seasons without teardowns, and that car was a winner, almost every time. Like what was said above, if it's built right to start with, and kept clean during assembly, they'll run like clockwork! I want my next project to be a Opel GT with a turbo rotary.....fun, fun, fun!! Tim
  14. John, If you want to make a trip up to LAX, I'll help you out. Tim
  15. Pete, Have you considered the Victor Jrs? My Dad uses them (mandated) with the Victor Jr manifold and 11:1 compression with a fair cam and he is pushing 500+hp out of the box. Rules: Max compression 11.1:1, max displacement 5.9 liters, cam, head and inlet and carb regulated (holley 750dp). Just another option....... Tim
  16. Yeah pretty simple. I replaced my first one a couple of years ago. When I drained the water out of it before disconnecting it, I used the hot water to rinse the driveway after cleaning it.....worked wonders.....waste not want not! Tim
  17. Dan, I think if we go up north (lots 'o' members up there), we could make a weekend (Sat and Sun) out of it? Should be fun, and I'm sure that my wife would love the idea.....she can go off and do her thing, while the motorheads hang out!! Again....what you guys think? Tim
  18. I've pulled 3 tanks (one in a JY) and never had any MAJOR difficulties. Just have a can of good penetrant handy!! Tim
  19. It was discussed that maybe we can hold the next one further north to include the NorCal guys. Maybe Santa Barbara, Pebble Beach or somewhere like that. We had a great turnout for this event!!!!, and some wonderfull Z-car eyecandy to look at What do you northern boyz think? Tim
  20. Dang Dave, all that free time and you haven't finished your coilovers yet!!!! :malebitchslap: Cool Kill!!! Tim
  21. I've driven one (hard) and it's got some spunk! Nice car IMHO. Tim
