  1. Mike, I have a really nice 260 center console if you need one. I picked it up from a JY before I was edumacated in teh differences between the 260 and 240. It's in really nice shape. Just shout if you need it. Tim
  2. Yasin, What is the drive quality like? Since I got my 83 ZXT, I really enjoy the softer more comfy ride compared to the 240Z, but the rear squat under acceleration is excessive, and the previous owner had new springs and shocks installed! Also, what was the final cost of the coilover setup? Thanks, Tim
  3. Check Sears out. Their hand tools are decent (not excellent, but ok) quality and their pre-packaged sets are reasonably priced. You will only need metric sets. Also, check out harbor freight (http://www.harborfreight.com). They have some excellent deals, although the quality isn't all that great, for the price, it's well worth it!! If you have lots o money to spend, get a Snap-On Tolls catalogue. Tim
  4. You'll very likely find some rust once you scape away the undercoating If you don't want to know about it, leave the U/C on, otherwise scrape it off and repair the rust and reapply new coating. Tim
  5. Nicole, I just picked up a set of 16x7s from the Santa Fe Springs warehouse.....thanks for all the help lining that up and saving me on the shipping!!! Tim
  6. Dude, you're gonna get majorly flammed.....do a quick search...there has been a lot of discussion here recently. Tim
  7. You gonna drop an L28 in that thing John? Turbo maybe....... You have the best toys man!! Tim
  8. Isn't that a driveshaft, not a half shaft? Tim
  9. I think I've decided to get the Greddy Type S universal BOV for my ZXT. Seems like the best bang for the buck, and heck, if it's good enough for Cody, it's good enough for me. Question: Anyone know of a good (read cheap) supplier for these things? The best I've been able to find so far is $175 from www.DSMParts.com Anything better? I think they want to charge another $14 for S&H, so maybe, even if the part is more expensive, if shipping is free....... Thanks, Tim
  10. Not an expert, but here goes. From what i hear 21st Cent. is a good crowd. Your premium will likely go up. If you are still paying off the car and have the 'gap' insurance, they will pay you out (what the car is worth + what the difference is on what you owe on it, if you owe more than it's worth). Otherwise, you get blue book. Sorry to hear about the crash, but if you're going to get in an accident, Volvo is a good way to go. Tim
  11. Can anyone say what years/model of Isuzu truck to look for, if asking a JY on the phone for example for the correct intercooler for our application? Tim
  12. I just picked up my set of 16X7s from Centerline on Friday.. I'm pretty jazzed: it's the first time that I've ever bought wheels new in the box, I usually get them used, but for $320 I couldn't resist. The look even better in person: Tim
  13. I just picked this up at the JY from an Isuzu Impulse. is it worth fitting it to my ZXT? I only paid $9 for it and another couple of bucks for the associated tubing and connector hoses/clamps. Thanks, Tim
  14. I'm waiting for John Coffey to chime in on that statement!! Tim
  15. Or go 16 inch and look at the specials that Centerline is running. There is a recent post on it. Tim
  16. Denny, The 4L80E will take just about anything you can throw at them. Just about as bulletproof as you can get. My Dad has one behind a 502ci BBC in his van that he uses to tow his racecar and spares and has had no problems for years, and he definitely doesn't baby it. The 4L60E is just the electronic version of the 700R4. Tim
  17. Retraction: Sorry, just checked out Centerlines web page and they have updated it today and no longer offering the Z wheels. I ordered mine (picking up tomorrow). 16x7, 4 inch back spacing. Sorry man. Tim
  18. Thanks for the info guys. The Saab/Porsche idea is feasible, but there are no Eclipses in the yards out here. How expensive are they new (are those units worth getting new, or will other turbo car BOVs be ok...like the saab etc)? Thanks, Tim
  19. Why not just get one gauge with a switch to toggle betwwen the two O2 sensors? Tim
  20. The 200 4R trannies are fairly common in the JYs. Look in the Buicks. Can be had cheap and you'll have a nice overdrive. I believe the car I got one from was a 86 or so regal. Tim
  21. I did an hour of searching, but the topic seems a bit vague when comes to which to use. For a stock ZXT, which would you guys recommend? I will be putting in a SAAB JY intercooler. Please help. Will these be ok: details Details Tim
  22. I remember reading at some point (but can't find it searching) about an inexpensive DIY boost controller for the stock ZXT system (I guess controlling the vaccuum). Does someone remember this, or even better, has someone actually made one and used it successfully? Also, can someone help with a step by step on how to increase the boost from stock. THe OEM system can take up to 10-12lbs right? I am going to install a SAAB ic this weekend. Thanks guys....the stock boost just isn't doing it for me anymore.....I see what y'all are talking about with this 'boost addiction' thing!!!! Tim
  23. Mudge, WOW, I have that exact same tag. I pulled mine off of a JY 260Z about 8 months ago. I would be interested to see if your jets are the same as mine. BTW, in an attempt to richen up the primaries, I swapped the secondary jets for the primary fuel air jets. I drive mostly on the primaries, so I wasn't too worried about the secondaries being too lean. Tim
