  1. Larry, I was SERIOUSLY thinking about it, but two things are stopping me. 1. If I was to get a fake Ferrari, it would be that yellow V8 (V.R) that's on ebay. me likes!!!!! 2. FLA is just a bit too far!! I'm still hunting for a cheap ZXT for a quick drop and drive conversion, though. Tim
  2. There is a place out here called LugNut King. I saw them at a carshow, fleemarket. They had just about any spacer you could ever want. 5 lug to 4 lug, 4 lug to 5, 5 to 6 and so on and so on..... If I find their card, I'll post the details, but otherwise search away... Tim
  3. Better not let the Hondah boyz see that exhaust tip!!!
  4. Take the starter off and feel the flywheel teeth to see if maybe they're not stripped. Tim
  5. Sounds like an electrical problem......check battery charge and voltage to the solenoid. Can you turn the motor by hand? Tim
  6. ha ha ha , and you're the very person to coin such a phrase!! Tim
  7. Speedo is mechanical, tach is electronic. I have upgraded to Autometer. There are some pics on my site. Tim
  8. Oh well, Miles.... Good opportunity to give the head a good 'going through'...port and polish, new guides, new seals, new seats etc.... etc.... Just think...at least it's easier than a V8!! Tim
  9. Looks interesting: E-Bay item Tim
  10. Short block is block and internals (crank, pistons etc) Long block will have the heads, and depending on the seller, the valve cover, inlet manifold etc etc. Tim
  11. Not much in the way of air flow to the intake!! Needs a roof scoop!
  12. Hmmm.....don't think my (detached) garage has ever been outside of the 60 to 75 degree range!....Gotta love at least that part of living in SoCal.Don't know how you guys do it. I've lived in South Central PA and NJ, and I can't imagine trying to work on a car in that weather....how do you get your hands to work Tim
  13. Keith, Yeah it's just a geometry thing on the linkage. The TVMADEEZ kit will sort you out, like Ryan says. Tim
  14. Damnit John, You've got wayyyy too many cool toys!!! Tim
  15. Trust Dave to get esoteric and stellar on us!!! lolTim BTW, Dave That grease is very nice. Thanks again.
  16. FYI...This stuff looks promising: http://www.zero-rust.com/ And this stuff too: Loctite Tim
  17. Tony, I once used a Black & Decker battery powered SawZall to cut out a spare wheel well out of a '73Z. Just a word of warning, have extra batteries (charged of course) and some (lots) of extra blades for the sawzall. I had to make 3 trips to complete the cut, once for blades (lack thereof) and once for no juice. Tim
  18. The 4L80E is a completely bulletproof tranny as long as the fluid stays cool and full. BowtieOverdives.com has a very nice stand alone module for them that uses a TV cable setup, so you can set your shift points and feel very easily. Their prices, as far as I can remember were VERY reasonable, but I can't remember the exact number. Shipping may put it out of reach though since they are in CA, and you are in FL. Tim
  19. You can use use Yahoo photos, or imagestation, or I use Freeservers.com, but lately they have disallowed image linking..... Tim
  20. Again, thanks for the info guys: I figured the 2.8 would be the way to go. The only thing that makes me hesitate is that I have a spare 2.4 in the garage (along with a 4 bolt 350) and various transmissions etc, so I would add another 2.4 to the pile if I sourced a 2.8 to swap in. (my wife is gonna have a kaniption) OH well, HP is worth the from the wife. Excuse my ignorance, but if I were to hunt down a 2.8 in the JY, any particular years better than another....keeping in mind that I will be keeping my dual weber setup. Tim
  21. Thanks Norm....Great write-up!!! Mr Coffey, That is a seriously generous offer , and is highly appreciated. If this was my only car, I would be ALL OVER it, but I need to put those $$$ into the LT1 Z. I just want to do something cheap and nasty to give my daily driver a bit of pep since the V8 Z will only be a weekend and track warrior. Tim
  22. Details please...if you don't mind..Tim
  23. I decided not to use also. I have a set if anyone decides they need them. Tim
  24. Larry, Page was 'not found'. Is the URL correct? Can you get to it..... Thanks, Tim p.s. Do you still want all the stuff you have paid for? I absolutely don't mind holding on to it until you're ready, but if you have changed your mind, don't be shy....I'll refund you man.
