Great numbers Clifton, I bet you will pick-up a tasty amount if you tuned it for a 11.5:1 mixture. Good to see that the old L can still hang!! Any pics of the engine you can share? Yasin

I agree very cool. Very rare piece, the price is very fair as well. Interesting to see if anf how it will fit on our LHD cars. Yasin

Awesome project Grunzter...those wheels are killer! Yasin

Very creative!!! 10 out of 10!! Cool car and the price is very reasonable as well! Someone on here should scoop it up! Yasin

What Justin does not want to tell you is he also has a soap chocolate mold of the Diesel LD crank too! LOL! Yasin

I think its cool to own a car that you "saved", be proud of have and have a sense of accomplishment after you have restoring it. These cars are getting rarer and rarer as time goes by and I am always touched when someone wants to learn how to weld, buy a decent welder to practice and then restore his car. Go for it, you have our backing and support. Any more pics of the overall car you can share? Regards - Yasin

Wondering about a Turbo swap? Here's the $$
slownrusty replied to Hotrodpez's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
Good thread and great feedback from the wiseold sages like Jeffer, Bo and Ryan! I went overboard with my L30ET build and lots of spit and polish and bling for the aesthetic appeal. I agree with all the feedback and the scrapyard is your friend here, the Centerforce Clutch is rubbish and I would not even consider it. Regards - Yasin -
Both cool videos! The 2nd one at least showed driver talent and balls! Yasin

I am confused...what do you mean the turbo does not have an "oil output flange"..every turbo has what is called a "drain"...this is a gravity fed passage back to the oil pan, all you need is to be able to direct the flow of the "used" oil back to the pan so it can be re-cycled for the next round of rpms. Here is what I did on my engine, to give you ideas, the flange is a generic $8 generic T3 aluminum flange (make sure and get 3/4" diameter!!) and the hose is a 3/4" rubber hose, the nipple on the oil pan is also 3/4". Regards - Yasin

Very cool car...needs suspension dome deep dish JDM or even Rota knock off wheels and a SR20DET! Yasin

Clifton - Surprised to see you using a MkIII IC on your set-up, but thas great that is is supporting those big numbers. BTW...Congrats on your SDS front page feature. Yasin

Umm....OK...I am speechless.how the heck did you find that Big Phil..LOL Yasin

Wow...that is odd! Not sure I would recommend that as an optimal location for the BOV. Two concerns: 1) You had to signicantly cut the rad support to install the BOV on the IC, so you have lost some integrity on the rad support 2) I would not be in favor of welding a flange on my IC for the BOV One question, why mount the BOV there? I have had two BOVs on my L28, first one here: and this now how my new TiAL BOV is set-up, in similar location as the top HKS SSQ: Regards - Yasin

Holy crap...I really enjoyed that! I understood a small amount of what she said (as I used be fluent in French). Italian women are sexxy H-O-T, Ricardo is one cool guy too. Thanks for the post! Love it Yasin

Well seeing that I have had this car the longest of any car I have owned (almost 8years)...will probably stay with me quite a while!!! My plan is too keep working on it and improving it as time goes by. So..no plans to sell it any time soon John...unless someone wants to offer me a nice $25K for it Afshin, you get the brother discount....$4999!....I am taking my time breaking it in...the sad thing is I drive the car so infrequently I hope it does not take me over a year to get the break-in done..LOL. Thanks for the comments and compliments! Regards - Yasin

Ryan - Great work and great write-up. I would *really* like to drive your to see how that Z32 tranny feels. If my Borg Warner ever pukes, this is the direction I am going to head. What about the reverse lights and speedometer? That AHoke...always pushing the cutting edge! Love it Yasin

Many thanks!!! Yes the front bumper will go back on the car fairly soon. Thanks for your compliments! Gotta keep it clean, that is my philosophy building cars! To me all the car really needed was more power (big grin) different wheels, a tougher stance and a front spoiler. I think the ZX has always had incredible lines, its just what you do with it, to enhance it, a little vision is needed to improve on the factory. The car should run Twice the hp better than stock with ease. Thanks for the compliments guys!! I appreciate it! Video coming sooooon! Probably in one week. I P'm'd you back...BTW...I am not counting anymore how much has been spent on the car. Thanks Davy! A good portion of the decals are hand painted when I had brand new rocker panels made for the car, as they were no longer available from Nissan as a part number, and I wanted to keep them, I think it looks very cool too!! Thanks Kyle!! Hood pics coming up! I want to see John Coffey's reaction to it! Thanks buddy, you were an inspiration to me! Guy - Thanks buddy. I am using the Corbeau brackets and my head is VERY close to the T-Tops, I am 6'0". Many Many thanks Gabe, Video coming soon bro! Thanks Scottie! Great to pull her down from the jack stands and take her round the block a few times! Thanks to all for your feedback and supportive comments! I have a few things that I have to still powder coat and I need to sand and paint the battery tray tonight. Regards - Yasin

Well here it is guys....been working away almost every free moment on it. I have driven the car about 10miles and its incredible and sounds VERY angry with the cam and added compression (the car not me). The boost is set low (4-5psi) right now for the initial break in, but based on how it feels I am confident that this car is quicker than my 2900lb - 911 Turbo that is sitting about 425hp. About the car: I rescued it from a banker in Denver 8years ago, it was rusty and rough but stock and "all there" right down to the stock Hitachi cassette deck, everything works on the car. It has improved every year I have had it. There is still lots of little things to do and bugs to work out, but its fairly presentable and I was anxious to share with you guys. A quick run down on the Engine: 3.0L Displacement LD28 Diesel Crank 240Z rods JE Pistons 8.1: 1 compression Diamond Like Coating (DLC) on the wrist pins Swain coated piston domes and exhaust & combustion chambers Whitehead Performance Ported and Polished P90 (non-hydraulic) HKS 2mm Head Gasket Web Turbo Grind Cam ARP studded bottom end ARP Head Studs ARP flywheel bolts Arizona Z-Car Radiator Arizona Z-Car Turbo Oil Pump Corky Bell Fabricated Intercooler (custom made) 2.5" Intercooler Piping Perma-cool Oil Cooler (-10 lines) Flex-A-Lite twin Electric Fans thermostatically controlled Clutch Specialties Clutch (custom made) Fidanza 240mm Flywheel Brand new genuine Nissan Borg Warner T5 Custom made Intake Manifold South Florida Performance Exhaust Manifold Garrett T3 / T4 Turbo TiAL Blow Off Valve and 38mm Wastegate 67mm BMW 735i Throttle Body 3" Mandrel Exhaust Lots of Autometer Gauges. Hand built coilovers by myself Soon: Arizona Z Car Willwood brake conversion The front spoiler was imported from Japan and a very unique piece that took ALOT of messing to fit it. The Hood is a special (what I consider one-off) from John Coffey - Beta Motorsports and is an 8lb Carbon Fiber unit, its complete, I will photograph it soon. The car should be capable of 400+whp and will be set to run 18psi on a Haltech E6X very soon (after break-in). Many thanks to all of you on here for your support, help and assistance during my build. I did the same as Bill in San Diego, almost 8years ago. But I used the 300ZX seat rails, I did not use the 280ZX rails. You need to make a bridge spacer (I did mine out of aluminum, easy to cut and drill and work with) for both the driver and passenger side and re-drill the 300ZX rails based on the bolts holes in the 280ZX floor. Pretty easy actually, hard on the back lifting the seats in and out of the car though. Thes are absolutely beautiful, comfortable and hard wearing seats - highly recommended! Here is an old pic: Regards - Yasin
