Also if you determine which is the main postive wire on the fuse block run a wire from the + side of the battery to it. Then give it a shot. Have you looked at the wiring diagram in the electrical section of the forum? Also follow the harness through the fire wall to see if it plugs into any connectors. I don't recall if it does or not. Check these connectors if it does.

My feeling is your suppling the entire harness with power through the + side of the coil through one wire. This is very bad. I'd quit running the car if this is the case. Your very likely to cause more damage then what is there. You said above your lights (headlights) will not come on if you switch them on correct? Mine do and all early Z's that I know of do. This means your not getting power to your harness. Have you checked all your grounds? For kicks run a new ground wire from the battery to the chasis.

If your not getting power to the + side of the coil with the key in the on postion something else is wrong in my opinion. I would trace this down before putting a new solenoid on the car. It may be all releated. You've verified all your fuses w/an ohm meter and not just by site?

So even with the key on you still have to run a hot wire to the coil? You cant simply bump it with the starter only from the selinoid? Have you tried this way yet? I'm wondering if your feeding + juice back into the system. Did you remove the other + wires from the coil that were supposed to supply.

This was on my old Z and the same grill is on my new Z, both 73's. Is this the correct grill for a 73 240z? Someone told me it was for the 260z? The second pic was one from ebay. When did the grill type change if mine is correct for a 73?

I hope your wife turns out to be fine. I would not sue unless permanent damages were present. On a side note the McDonalds case with the hot coffee was legit. She was an older women if I recall going through the drive through. The coffee was spilled on her crotch burning both her legs and her genital area. She required skin graphs from her legs. She approached McDonalds not to sue but to seek reimbursement for medical costs. They blew her off and she HAD to seek a lawsuit. A lawyer buddy told me this.

I asked Mr. Zgad this and his thoughts were it would cost to much to make along with a smaller wastegate. Just wanted some others thoughts on this too. Instead of selling the setup I have listed in the for sale section I wanted to have a pipe fabed that would go from 60mm Vband to 44mm Vband. I've read so many cons on the cheap wastegates, so I'm stuck mentally with wanting to use Tial, but I can't see spending 600+ for a 60mm WG. I was going to sell the setup to fund a different turbo with an internal wastegate. I need 400HP like i need a hole in my head. Anyway, what do you think it would cost to get a pipe like this made so I could run a smaller wastegate of 44mm? I'm not doubting Mikes advice, I just want to hear it from more than one person.
