    Friends ...

I thought this was great! Have an awesome day everyone! ----------------------------------------------------------- One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, 'Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd.' I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him.. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses, I said, 'Those guys are jerks..' They really should get lives. He looked at me and said, 'Hey thanks!' There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude. I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now. I would have never hung out with a private school kid before. We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends. He said yes. We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him. Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, 'Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!' He just laughed and handed me half the books. Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends. When we were seniors we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor and I was going for business on a football scholarship. Kyle was valedictorian of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him. Boy, sometimes I was jealous! Today was one of those days. I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, 'Hey, big guy, you'll be great!' He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled. 'Thanks,' he said. As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began 'Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends. I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story...' I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. 'Thankfully, I was saved.. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable.' I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment. I saw his Mom and Dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did I realize its depth. Never underestimate the power of your Actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life. For better or for worse.
  2. I re-did the post using "test" title, "test" in the body and it worked, then I edited it w/ real info. There may be something in the syntax of my title or the body that it was chocking on who knows.
  3. Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 50331648 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 16 bytes) in /var/www/forums.hybridz/includes/class_core.php on line 3289 This was in the forsale section under cars?
  4. What sucks is one small rear end accident and there goes $1500. This is where classic car insurance is an absolute must!
  5. Yep, Happy Fathers day all. I'm trying to do the opposite on this Fathers day, serve my kids and family. I've had almost 15 years of my family serving me, I think I can give back some. Made my Wife and Daughter breakfast and my son wants to spend the day w/ his friend. I'm trying to find out what they would like to do today.
  6. Stand firm, do what YOU want to do. Listen to the advice, but in the end it is just advice. You can leave it, your on your own. When I was 18 my dad and I looked at a rust free Z w/ a bad front end (rack and pinion) for $700. This was in 88. He convinced me not to get it. Was one of the biggest regrets I had back then.
  7. Hey John, you should spec. what car your wanting these for.
  8. I've got the fronts for $60 plus shipping. These still have fluid in them and their on my wrecked car in the garage. I need to get this car out of the garage, my wife is starting to complain.
  9. I'm dumb again. I saw "for" 75 not "from" a 75.
  10. That is a good price. I would jump on it. ... sorry, quit drinking, 11 days not smoking and trying to get off of caffeine!
  11. This is the EXACT route I plan on going. It just makes sense to me, especially financially.
  12. The above doesn't look right w/out a lip. Make them black or leave them alone. Try polishing one up. Maybe you will like that.
  13. It is kind of a hard read when the promoter of the thread is the owner of the company selling the kits. Of course it is the best. My opinion, if you want set it and forget it, at least for a little while, go w/the 4 -barrel. SU's from what I've read up on and currently drive are great for performance.
  14. Thank you. This will be good to see.
  15. I have an 82 280zxt all stock. I was driving down the road and it died. Would just crank and nothing. Got it home and realized I had gotten water into the distributor cap. And antifreeze does not seem to dry up! I only bring it up as the rest of your investigation seems very thorough.
  16. Export them to Excel first or CSV I forget. There is a lot of useful information and it is much easier to search through then waiting for the site to refresh the pages.
  17. I haven't messed much w/ my 82 zxt, but just driving it around with 5 cyl only is still fun. However, at times it will run crappy. I mistakenly bumped the wires going into my ECU because I have no kick panel over it, and she came to life! Every once in awhile she will do this and I merely step on the wirles lightly w/ my foot going into the ECU and bam back to good. Kinda strange but maybe something to look into.
  18. At first glance I thought it was a TEC II, it may just be the DFU I saw in the engine bay. However, i'm not sure what the box in the glove compartment is? That may be the ECU? The black box w/the dial looks to be a fuel mixture box. The box in the glove compartment may go w/ it? Look for writing on all the boxes. It looks like you have a very complete setup either way. Here is the PDF on the TEC II if that is what it is: http://www.directignition.com/pdf_files/tec99.pdf
  19. It looks like you did okay. TEC2 Electronics are nice and I'm assuming running is always a major plus. Good starting point.

I should have both the 3.54 rear end and axles in a the next week or so from an 82 280zxt. Are you in a big rush? $150 + shipping.
  22. I think you will be okay. I'll have to check my deck length tomorrow, but mine is close to that. Make sure it is dual axle.
