Thanks for the Picture looks better than I had envisioned. It might offer more flexible positioning, since I am looking at using all the stock accessories on the serpentine belt. After a little more browsing....Hot Dog! Found the "right" part - just a little pricey, but a lot of machining goes into it.

Saw this on a pickup in Nebraska once: SURFZUP still thinkin' about that one..... Seen on ricer Hondas: 4U2NV QTPIE 2FAST4U PSYKD UDLOSE

I hesitate to call it the "Radiator Cap" but.... Moroso makes a filler neck for Chevies that places the cap on the thermostat housing atop the intake manifold - the highest point in the system - to bleed air out of the cooling system. I've seen those clamp-in-radiator-hose pipe / neck / cap in the JTR book, but Was really looking for something RIGID like the Chevy part. I guess it's a lot more complicated because the thermostat housing mounts to the front of a Ford manifold, not the top. Also the bypass hose plumbing is part of the thermostat housing. Seen those overflow / expansion tanks on big block Cobras with a filler cap, but they probably eat up some hood clearance....

The cases are different between WC and NWC. One of the differences is the bearing "cup" that is pressed into (and out of) the front of the case that supports the front bearing of the cluster gear. You need to press it out from the back of the cluster shaft.

One of the advantages of the Ford Mustang-II (come on! call it what it really is! the Ford Pinto) "package" is the low vertical profile and variable width it offers, without the height and width limitations of shock towers (required by MacPherson struts) that intrude into the engine compartment. It allows the builder to install a 460 in a Cobra, 4.6L in a '65 Galaxie...etc.. Not that any of these finished projects will be a slalom champ. I'm sure the C-4 design offers superior geometry, but how many sources are there besides the wrecking yard or new GM parts counter? There are at least 6 manufacturers of aftermarket M-II pieces (arms, spindles, brakes) and complete systems (Heidt's, Fatman come to mind) for the Kit Car, Classic, and Hot Rod market.

Guess that's one way to get your poetry published. I remember when Mesa, AZ was the place to find early Mustangs in back yards.....

I am a MAC user, maybe that is why I don't get the "remove windows" and "Redmond, WA" references. Microsoft people should find every laptop ever stolen, and charge the police triple for their software since MS is doing their jobs for them. quote: he was not smart enough to immediately remove Windows. I installed the same version of Windows on another computer - within fifteen minutes the people in Redmond Washington were very interested to know why it was that the same version of Windows was being signalled to them from two different computers.

This is far afield of Electronics rebates, but the company I work at has collectible "points" on the packaging that you mail in (like to green stamps) and redeem for prizes (like household appliances, clothing, sporting gear). The consumer mails his points and order to Iowa, it gets immediately forwarded to a redemption center in Ireland and the prize is shipped from a warehouse in California (but it all originates from China). I'll bet a lot of stuff gets lost in all that blend of manual labor and electronic reporting.

Just got out of court for Reckless Driving in Va. Charge
Trevor replied to Mikelly's topic in Non Tech Board
All excellent observations Mike. Happy ending too. I've only had one opportunity to plea in the Henrico Co. courthouse about 5 years ago for the crime of following too closely (in a snowstorm, mentioned by the police officer) and cause a bent Cavalier trunklid. Got sent to sit on the bench labeled "Group W" in 3-part harmony with driving school, $40 court fee, no fine, no points - still feelin' lucky. I wore a suit and only said three words "yes" "Sir" and "guilty" since I didn't know any better. But the other folks who showed up that day - One rich brat who had not showed up for 2 previous court dates brought his lawyer who argued that the Social Security # on the warrant was one digit wrong - therefore it did not identify the kid. He walked. 17-year-old girl was speeding 100 mph on the interstate because she had a curfew - her mom was there to confirm. Mom also held the girl's pocketbook as she was led off crying in handcuffs to spend the rest of the day in jail. One Guy says he was speeding because the speedometer is off, but he can't prove it because it was a borrowed car and he hasn't been able to get it to a shop to calibrate. Judge gave him an extension to come back in 4 weeks. A guy who looks like a homeless wino is ordered to install a breathalizer lock in his car's ignition after a DWI. 4 or 5 people told the same story: "I was expecting a ride to work since I don't have a license, the ride didn't show up, so I drove myself and was caught speeding so I wouldn't be late for work." The best was a guy reading a prepared essay on the unfairness of traffic fines which did not meet the rule of law that no laws shall be passed solely for the purpose of the government to raise money. (my words, the essay was moch more flowery and contained a number of Latin expressions) The judge listened politely, then remarked that he didn't think any of the people who frequently try to use that excuse understood what he had just read. I don't remember what he was charged with, or the punishment, but his defense was entertaining. -

I bought an engine on EBAY! Hope it works out, might be more headache that its worth. I am working on the shipping details from Pasadena, CA to Richmond, VA. Anybody live or work near Pasadena, CA 91107? In case I need a local hand in the next week.... I'll sooner give my HybridZ friends a few $$$ for an couple hours time & assistance. The seller says he'll strap it to a pallet and load it on a truck, but it will also need to be "crated". The trucking company says a cardboard box & strapping tape cover is fine, but the seller hasn't got back to me yet saying he can take care of that. Any advice? Happy Easter! T

"Is it possible to turn the intake around so the throttle is on the drivers side? The mating surfaces between the upper and lower intake look symetrical.......has anyone done this?" I haven't tried this yet, but I noticed that the Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, and Lincoln 5L engines have the throttle body on the driver's side of the upper intake. Maybe you can just swap the upper halfs if they can't be spun around.

That guy's been watching too much of the Barret Jackson show. "Hmmm.... IF the car is worth $25,000, then the carbs must be worth a mint too."!!

Got some dumbell weights? Hang 22.5 pounds on the end of a 24" pipe wrench, or 30 pounds on a 18" wrench, or 45 pounds on a 12" (1 foot) wrench.

Post your upgraded brake setup here
Trevor replied to Toysport's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Fronts are FC, circa '88. I made brackets from 1" x 2" billets to span the different bolt spacings - Mazda about 6", Datsun 3 1/2" - a lot like Juan's Wilwood brackets. I found them to be more plentiful in the junkyard than Toyota calipers. Mine were $7 and $23 for rebuild kit. Here's the inspiration: All credit to Graeme Suckling, he put them on a 510. -
I like it. Definitely early '60s Italian influence. Those grafted panels are pretty large and seem to be pre-stamped or someone is really good with an English wheel, I can't see them as hand-beat and stiched together. I almost think the tail fins and tail light surfaces might be from a Karman Ghia or VW type III. Its a Frankencar!

Ever wonder how many state sponsored grants and scholarships Meghan received to go to school? like a sucking tick those ungrateful parasites are waiting to leave once all their "entitlements" given to them by this "terrible country" until after they drain that last drop of blood while my taxes pay for her education. Leave now. I don't even want to know how far that attitude got you in any other country.
