  1. Zimmer built those Neo-Classic replicars in the 1960's and 70's. Their drivelines were sourced from GM, Chrysler, Ford production vehicles. They also built manufactured homes, roofing trusses, and motor coach RVs according to the Hemmings Car Club site. I did a search on ALUVAC and everything is in French or German with references to cameras. You've got a real mystery motor there.
  2. Was that brand name Asus or Asses, or Anus? I think I'll check out seller's other auctions to see the rest of the chick.
  3. I was at the local "salvage" store lunch time yesterday and as usual, walking down the toys aisles looking at no-name-brand (not Maisto) 1:18 scale diecast cars. They have the oddball stuff that doesn;t sell at Wal-Mart, I guess. They had several Porsche 911s, '84 Fiero, '80s VW Rabbit convertible....Chevy Caprice police cruiser, etc. The level of detail is pretty amazing, last summer I bought a Lamborghini Countach and an Aston Martin DB-5 there. Anyways, yesterday I was thinking about buying the green '68 Camaro convertible - had to think it over, my collection is mostly European marques and Mustangs - and I came across a '03 350Z, Sunset Orange. Cool. Then further into the "pile" I see a '70 240Z, British Racing Green. Too cool. 2 generations of mini Zs amongst the retail cast-offs.
  4. Mike, Is there a Harbor Freight store nearby? They have these http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=37520 on sale for $30 ever so often.
  5. Call the officer's precint command every day and ask for him by name. You will find out which weekday of the week he has off. Call the traffic court and have your trial date re-set to that day of the week. Chances are the officer won't come to court on his day off. - advice from Hot Rod Magazine (early 1980's).
  6. Front: 5-lug hubs, spacer plate, vented 300ZX rotors, RX-7 4-piston aluminum calipers. Rear: 5-lug (re-drilled stubs), vented MX-6 (front) rotors, RX-7 1-piston aluminum calipers. MC - any suggestions?
  7. Sitting at the table, reading the paper this morning, some funny ideas struck me. Am I too wierd? Probably too late to get bumper stickers or T-shirts printed... "Baghdad is Arabic for Saigon." "Don't Ask. Dont Tell. Don't Kerry."
  8. It's been discussed, I'm still in the planning phase. I have a '84 that got transplanted from NA to Turbo sometime after it left the factory. Unfortunately, the 3L turbo motor has expired, and needs another transplant. http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=33691&highlight=z31 http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=30050&highlight=z31 http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=13001&highlight=z31 http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=12935&highlight=z31 http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=13201&highlight=z31 I'll have to retract my statement about the 5.0L engine accessories being in the right places on non-Fox bodied cars. I'm now thinking that it is the '86-'93 Mustang arrangement of serpentine front end that is always correct, but the Mustang AFM is backwards (to the pass. side) from the 300ZX. To line up the air cleaner-to-snorkel with the AFM the Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, Lincoln intake is on the correct (driver's) side. Based on JY surveys....Front end accessories seem to move around side to side depending on the year on the big cars. For a drag-only car, the above is probably meaningless. You could run a single v-belt for the water pump and alternator. I'd look at rigid motor plates for mounts.

Crikey mate! The elusive laundry heat will come back on its own. It is attracted to the smell of quarters and the sound of clicking switches when you turn the "on" dial. Be careful, don't show any signs of fear. - The Sockodile Hunter
  10. I recently bought a NWC T-5 rebuild "kit" (with synchros) on EBAY for $65. They had me specify GM vs. Ford, I ordered the Chevy version and got a box full of loose parts wrapped in newspaper, its an early Camaro trans. Assume Nissan would be more like Ford? Haven't rebuilt my trans yet, though.

  12. Don't you hate it when you've invested in 1980's Minivan prints.. only to see it go out of fashion.
  13. If the Z31 yoke allows larger U-joints, Could you (machinist with a lathe) turn down the outside of the Z31 yoke until it fits in the tailshaft of the T-5?
  14. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33733&item=7926315142&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW What type bellhousing bolt pattern would the LS V-6 have? SBF or modular? I think the '90s Mustang V-6 (3.8L pushrod) used the same 6-bolt as a SBF V-8.....maybe?
  15. That's easy, let me just run down to the Peugeot dealer......
  16. I missed the bearing mention somewhere. Which bearing comes from the (L) trans and goes in the (L) front housing? Counter shaft? Input shaft? Throwout? Thanks
  17. I will continue to pray for all of our soldiers. And their MW Dogs.
  18. Looks like something from "CHiPs". I'm not familiar with this brand name: Although it brings up images of emissions and Presidential knee pads....
  19. From the install photos it appears that Pete's subframe connector rail design requires 2 "Slots" cut in the floorpans. Has anyone made them that don't require cutting the floor pan panels? i.e. they set flush with the bottom of the floor. Also, can they be built completely bolt-in for the welding-impaired?
  20. I have A harbor freight siphon feed HPLV, it works fine. There is a HF store near work and I have bought a few different sized needles and nozzles for it over the last 14 years.
  21. I wonder if they'll repeal the gun ban to defend against outlaws with swords? In summary: The whole story: http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=38896
  22. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=39405&item=2489495929&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Was it a Z or ZX? The Buy it now price is a little optimistic, basically the roof's been cut off and some sheetmetal work in the back, a la Z therapy templates. I don't see a decklid, and no reinforcement of the chassis.
