  1. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4577811016&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 Looks like a live axle to me, Not IRS. What would that be from, a 240SX? Is it a R200 or R180 or.....chunk in the center?
  2. That's like the Barbara Walter's special at Jay Leno's house. She called his 427 Cobra "cute". Jay said "This is like talking about cars with my mom."
  3. Can you park a car on a wooden floor?
  4. You've hit on the mechanical mis-match. Supercharged engines have a lower compression ratio, while the need for higher octane is required only for the desire to run a higher compression ratio.
  5. some ancient joke about Tiger Woods... Golf Tees are for holding his balls while he drives..... dumb blonde says "those guys at Buick think of everything!" Something like that....
  6. Don't do acid while working with fiberglas kit car bodies: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VW-based-Camaro-Corvette-kit-car-fiberglass_W0QQitemZ4575719571QQcategoryZ7251QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  7. Better see a doctor, I got rear-ended in an old Mustang (no headrests) about 20 years ago and got whiplash which didn't start hurting for a few days. First time ever seeing a real X-ray and it's my own neck and skull! Doctor: See these vertebrae, they're all straight? Me: Yes, is that good? Doctor: NO, your neck is suppposed to be curved. Still get a sore neck some times. Also found broken parts all through the car, not just the tail light panel.
  8. You might look at plumbing a "T" in the Vacuum tubing to draw from both ends of the intake. Check for leaks.
  9. This one's got me curious..... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cobra-Daytona-Replica_W0QQitemZ4569294376QQcategoryZ7251QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem It doesn't look like a Nalle kit nor Z unibody was used as the foundation, looks fiberglass. See that interior door hinge! See the door proportions and window shape. Maybe a Z windscreen? Why not a 289 V8 instead of 2.6L? (probably registered as a 74 Datsun)
  10. When you download the articles, the file names are Inject_your_horse1.pdf , 2, 3, 4, &5.pdf

I always knew body shop owners made big bux.
  12. From the main page, click on these links: Tech Articles (http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=55) Early Bronco EFI Swap (http://fordfuelinjection.com/index.php?p=62) There are 5 files, 5 parts in the series.
  13. http://fordfuelinjection.com/ Download the "Inject your Horse" articles - details how to install a SBF EFI in an old Bronco. There are 351W "lower" intakes on ebay frequently that would allow you to use the other pieces from complete 5.0L system.
  14. I really like the weekend cruise-ins in my area. If you bring a a hog, ricer, lead sled, or clapped-out Camaro, once the whole Z club team, all are welcome.
  15. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7981215904&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 Set of door, hatch, and ignition locks - over $200 and reserve not met. I see some rust on the mounting hardware, Is this melange of old / new parts really that scarce?
  16. And that rear strut bar attachment - looks like a U-bolt through flattened ends of the pipe!!! How rigid is that?!? At least Honda tuners make Bling parts Bling with billet and or gussets. Dr. Porsche is turning over bigtime.

  18. I adapted a similar situation to put a Saginaw 4 speed in my 280. The Hurst shifter was offset back about 8" towards the end of the tailshaft housing with a 1/4" steel plate and the 3 linkage rods were extended with barrel nuts and 3 lengths of all-thread. On the Hurst shifter, the linkage rods thread into the 3 arms with a standard 3/8" thread. The other end of the linkage rods has a formed elbo on the trans lever so I had to use them. I sold that trans with the shifter to a neighbor who put it in a Nova, so he didn't need the plate and rods and it was easy to put back in the stock position. I can look and see if I still have them laying around....
  19. We just watched the '62 Falcon episode of "OVERHAULIN" this week. They removed the vent windows in the doors and replaced them with a full window (trapezoid, instead of rectangular). They showed the glass guys cutting a new window from raw glass by scoring the cut line with a diamond glass cutter, then drenching the scored area with alcohol. He lit it aflame, then gently bent the trim away while burning when the plastic in the middle of the glass began to melt due to the heat consentrated in that area. Then he finished the edge by sanding with emery cloth. Of course he made it look easy. I know Falcon windows are as flat as can be, so it's probably easier to work in 2-dimensions.
  20. Thanks Larry! Actually I am plotting this out for a Z31 300ZX + 5.0L swap. The radiator sits very low in the nose and is slanted forward, not as vertical as a 240Z's. Pretty sure it will be lower than the top of the intake. The nice part is without the frame rails restriction, I can use the wider (bigger) 29" radiator, even though it has a filler cap, it won't be accessible. The 300ZX filler cap / thermostat housing for the 300ZX is actually on the top front of the engine block, so I am looking to duplicate that arrangement.
