  1. L is on the right and Z is on the left??? Z = L. Where's the KA? Please clarify your clarification.
  2. I have an HE351 that fit without spacers. Look at the link in my sig for a few pics.
  3. You need to disassemble the control arms first (obviously). Is that what you are really asking? Searching would turn it up, but you need to consider the spindle pin pulling tool. There is a nice writeup of the process on www.atlanticz.ca. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/suspension/rearend/index.html
  4. You will never get near what you have in the Lex when you try to sell it. I say you keep the Lex and build the 510 slowly as a fun car for a while, etc. If you have the basics sorted and still want to go further, then consider parting out or selling the Lexus. Right now is not a good time to try to sell a really deeply modified car.
  5. Water cooled turbos should not normally glow unless they are running very hard (like endurance hard) or with some ignition retard.
  6. LOL! That Texan likes him some sawsudge!
  7. I've gotten stock Audi's glowing before. I've also seen EGT's downstream from the turbo pass 900 and touch 1000 degrees C on some cars, but not an L motor.
  8. What are you using for boost control right now? Is your wastegate connected properly? A MBC will only raise and not lower your boost. You need to get your wastegate working properly. The blow off valve won't do anything for this issue.
  9. Typical rule of thumb, to summarize what they have said, is use a coarse filter before the pump and a finer filter afterwards. The pump can deal with substantial particles, but the injectors cannot. However, most pumps won't deal with the restriction of a fine filter before it. Most pumps can push fuel out pretty hard core, but won't suck stuff up worth a crap by comparison. Most good filters are rated by a micron number; which is simply the size of the smallest particles they are made to stop. Look up Aeromotive filters for an idea. The higher the number, the coarser the filter.
  10. Primer will not prevent rust over long periods of time. Etch the metal and then use POR15 or Rust Bullet, etc. Don't forget the etching portion or the stuff won't stick as well as it could.
  11. I've already done it. It isn't complicated, to be honest. Just take your time, make some charts to keep your thoughts organized and you'll be fine. Honestly, I think you guys are overthinking the corrosion of pure copper. Maybe if it was going to be used as a daily driver in metropolitan Canada for another twenty years, but I doubt it...

    RB25DETT

Maybe that is true in your neck of the woods. California has a massive amount of Japanese culture/cars unlike much of the rest of the country where it's Ford and Chevy V8's all day long. Now if I could just get one of those pesky six litre, six speed setups to sneak under the hood of my car.... LOL
  14. Oh, I see. Yeah, I noticed one or two.
  15. Feel free to swap me cars. Mine still has an L28Et and I will happily take apart my new RB'd car to replace hoses. Note to all; RB's are tough little SOB's but the rubber on them is 15 years old (or so) and just as prone to dry and crack as the cheapest car's hoses. Change 'em before you drop it in. As an aside, I have had to deal with that before. Just hope you didn't get coolant down into electronic/electrical connectors. The coolant will dry on the pins and make it REAL tough to clean up and it interrupts the connections. I had a turbo coolant line rip and spray coolant all over the engine bay of an EVO.
  16. Call ARP tech and they will tell you precisely.
  17. Important technical info from the page: For octopus-interference is the industry standard barnacles, turtles and ants in check. Gotta keep those high revving ants in check!
  18. How is this necroposting? It's a tech question and it's still valid; assuming no more recent post discussed this McMaster part. Now if it was a "for sale" thread or info about an event that passed, that would be another matter.
