  1. what was wrong with it? looks rust free and saveable. shoulda shipped it to me (in one piece)
  2. for all those who read this, and didnt know, the answer as i have found out is to grind off the lip, the rotor only needs a small lip, and can be made smaller. then the center magnet part slips right over.
  3. hey guys need some simple help. for whatever reason the pertronix i have just bought wont install correctly. im working on a 1.8L datsun, and the center ring wont go over the part where the rotor mounts. has this kit been hacked?? the part # that isnt working is 17413 (the magnetic part) the outer sensor fits perfect. anyone else had simmilar instances. thanks in advance
  4. well after 2 weeks of work, i got my whale tail mounted and moulded in. and painted 2 tone on my hood. got soe good pix. first time i drove it today since november. (too much snow)
  5. the strut bar wont help with this particular problem, it only helps the towers stop moving. like davyz said. you need to get the springs figured out.
  6. wow, i work for the cops as a mech. i asked one day if there is a law about accelerating to the speed limit. they said "no" as long as it doesnt make noise and no black marks on the ground. and i asked the biggest prick cop in the land, cause he tickets his own mother for going to slow! that being said im in canada, but we follow almost the same laws.
  7. the AN fittings are single flare 30 degree fittings and require a special flare tool. i have even flared the stock fuel rail to accept the AN fittings. the stock rail is a dash5 line, so i used dash 6 and it worked, but is temporary. always size the line correctly to prevent leaks. if your gonna use a fpr, just spend some cash and get the proper one that can be used with AN fittings, its safer and more serviceable when something happens
  8. the auto darkening helmut is the best thing to come to welding ever. what i even do, if i can, is weld the backside. but do it b4 you grind, that way there is something to grind against, and weld to if you spot a hole.
  9. ummm so howd it fly off, wheels just dont do that on there own. did you forget to tighten something, or did a part/unit break. post some pix to help as well
  10. all this being said, what is a good runner size, or how does one calculate it? the valve covers some of the hole, no matter the size of cam etc... no point in making the head runners huge, just to bottle neck down to the valve. especially at the risk of blowing thru the sides.
  11. ross has been horribly busy. he lives about an hour from me. if you guys need stuff, or questions fast, pm me and i can phone him, then you can get answers quick. make sure you include your email, so he can contact you faster. he doesnt seem to get back to emails, even to me!
  12. i run that red/chrome filter in the stock location on my s130, it never has leaked and works great. coulda just been the unit you had.
  13. heck its not just ported, it flowbenched. you can also say there is quite the difference to that statement. i can port, no numbers to support the work i have done. it can actually hurt the flow if you do one thing and not another, or in the wrong area.
  14. i just got a set of su's for free, as far as i can tell they are from a 240z, and are really rough, prolly what you see at ztherapy. they appear to be round tops, but i dunno, im an injection guy. i actually got the whole motor for free, i saw e88 head and 240 rods, carbs and thought, hmmmm stroker?
  15. ummm they kinda are used on aircraft. ive built the lines, pressure checked above 300psi. i use aluminum lines on my car, it sure is hard to join to the stock -5 lines. one day i wanna redo the whole shabang
  16. the foam for building fiberglass stuff can also be the blue or pink kind from home depot. it works well and can be glued together with white glue, glue gun, epoxy, or resin. as long as its sticky, and it can be shaved with a rasp. then covered with glass. great way to build, just a bit messy, foam floating around the house/neighborhood and all!

    flame help

there is a kit you can buy that actually sends extra fuel down the line to make wicked sparks, might wanna trying and google it. it may prove a better way to treat the engine in your ride. if you really want, get a cold start valve of a s130, then mount it in the pipe, then youll have fuel right b4 the plug, and make flames any time you want. can get power from your engine(no extra weird tuning) and great flame. just dont get caught.
  18. ross has just been busy, keep emailing him, he will come thru, if you cant get hold of him in a month, pm me and ill phone him and get him to contact you.
  19. i had a aluminum seat in my car for daily driving. it was 16" wide. (im 6'0" and built like a ape) 10 deg layback. note the had. also the aluminum seats all crack over time, doesnt matter what brand. you really cant weld them either, they still crack somewhere else. i even plated the sides a bit to try and control the cracking, didnt work. aluminum just cant stand the flex of getting in and out.
  20. the thickness would be nice if it was the same as the exhaust flange, incorperating injector bungs would be a big plus, then one could just weld to the stub. if you could leave an area for the stock injectors to be screwed to, that would be great, those with a new rail could always mount in there own way, im sure everyone has there own ideas there.
  21. i just want dang coilovers, they cost too much fer me. these s130's have one option. and if i could get megasquirt, that would be nice too. is this a contest?, did i win my wants? lol
  22. heck id take that car!! i just got a 240z motor for free, it was in some triumph roadster. it came with su's e88 head and alternator, starter, everything. what part of the su has to be round/flat to tell what kind they are, and what are they worth. i dunno this stuff, im l28 kinda guy, im keeping the head and rods for future plans, all the rest is for sale.
  23. you guys are gonna laugh so bad, i got a : 86 tercel wagon for the winter, dual light up exhaust, driving lights, light up pedals, 64 hp to the wheels 82 280zx (race car) bob sharp look alike in progress 48 ford pick up 4x4 37" tires in resto 37 mercury 4dr sedan. rear suicide doors in resto lots of projects, not enough $$$ or time, isnt that the way it always works?
