  1. okay, if she's not married, I got dibs.
  2. With most of the manufacturers doing retro cars, I think Nissan nets to get on board! I'd most def be willing to trade my BMW M3 in towards the purchase of a retro Z.
  3. Well, if you're not very happily married, you should work on that. A motorcycle won't change anything with your wife for the better. Fix your relationship, for the chillen. On a side note, that is a good deal for that 1000RR.. edit; wait, it has 30,000mi.. stay away.
  4. This is for the guys looking to do their own coping on tubing. This is a neat little program I've found a while back, it allows you to type in a few things, and then it will generate a wavy line, which when you print it out, and roll it on to the end of the tube you're cutting, it will give you a pattern where to cut. http://metalgeek.com/static/cope.pcgi
  5. Wow, those black wheels really make that car a clean looking SOB. That is a sweet combo for sure, I don't care what anyone says.
  6. Turbo 4.3l. I forgot the builder.
  7. Well, I guess being TV stars I would have expected them to drive Lambo's and Porsche's, not Datsun's and VW bus'. lol.
  8. Here is a great site regarding DIY coil overs. It shows instructions, and where you can buy the parts to DIY. http://www.geocities.com/bry593/coilover/coilover.htm
  9. Wow, that is a real turn around.. Great job!
  10. I used 18ga sheet metal. 1 4x8' sheet worked for both floors, and a bunch left over. Also, I used 1x3" sq tubing, I forget what thickness. Not very thick to keep the weight down.
  11. Thanks so much, this should be stickied in the suspension area.
  12. Very nice.. Can you give me more information on those coil overs?
  13. I'm at just over a year on this project. LOL, not really much going on now, I've put it on the back burner while I'm buying a house. Also, might be picking up a Miller MIG welder off craigslist. It should be more than sufficient for the roll cage, and the frame.
  14. I went to the show today in Oshkosh, at EAA's Airventure 2008. As I was walking around, admiring the beautiful display of aircraft, and really taking a notice to all of the awesome fabrication that is put in to them, we came upon a Licoln Electric welding display. Nothing special, just running MIG I believe, although I was kind of sad that there were no Miller machines.. (call me biased) Anyway, we keep walking, and I see a huge Miller display with 2 semi trucks, and a huge tent. They also had at least 12 demo areas where you could try out anything from Plasma to GTAW and GMAW. I really wanted to try my hands on an AC TIG machine, as I've never done any aluminum. I got setup on a Miller Dynasty 200 DX. (Normally ~$3350, show price $2800) I got my helmet and gloves on, and after a quick demo from an employee, he told me just to go ahead, because I've had experience with DC TIG before. Started the arc and started a pool, and then started the fillet weld. I must say, it's a lot easier than I've made myself thing it would be. Besides fillet welds, I also did some edge welds, and lap welds. They were all very very clean, and looked as if they were polished. I think in part, because of the square wave setup, and the argon shielding. I was so impressed, I had to go grab my friend and come back. He gave it a try. He's never TIG welded before, and it was kind of a mess, which made me appreciate my experience a little more. I got a few compliments on my welding, after I explained that this is the first time I've ever done any aluminum, but had experience with DC TIG. I was going to grab a coupon to bring with me, but we couldn't wait around for it to cool.. Damn, I should have taken pics.. I'd say most were comparable to this. And some of my best were like this. Anyway, I'm hooked, and really wish I could start doing some fabrication. My Z project is on hold, as I'm purchasing a house soon. But, then hopefully I can get everything in order.
  15. Subaru... All the power in the world isn't crap if you can't get traction. Also, I had an STI before I got my M3, and I loved driving it in the snow.
  16. Yeah, the dry clutch is just one thing that sets a Ducati apart. Ohh well. Very nice bike, and Very nice car. I'm jealous. I was actually looking at selling my 06 R1, and purchasing a Ducati, 999R, or something. But, never really wanted to let anyone test ride my bike. A girl I know just gut one of those 848's. It's the first I heard of them at the time. I really like the looks of them. I'll have to ride hers.
  17. Look at Chevy with the 2010 Camaro, and the retro Ford Mustangs. Nissan brought back the GTR. I think it would be smart to bring back an ICON from the 70's. I'm sure a lot of the kids who wanted them back then have enough money now to buy one.
