  1. http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh81/flatblack280/random/DSC02769.jpg Do you see the Dizzy housing on the right? there are two slots where the two 10mm bolts attach the dizzy housing to the front cover. You can rotate the entire housing a bit for adjustment IIRC.
  2. It should just come off. I've taken apart an auto F54/P79 like yours and there was no issue. Hit it with a rubber mallet. You never once mentioned a "flywheel" or "automatic to manual swap" in the original post, might want to thoroughly think through the OP when starting a new thread if you want serious answers.
  3. Looks great! Turbo'ing your L28 wouldn't be hard, and is fairly cheap, but they definitely have a power ceiling. I love my VG30ET, it is quite capable. Good luck with your build!!
  4. I realize you are trying to be cute in your title but after trying to read that huge block of text, are you talking about an S30 or a S130?? DSommer has a proper Scarab, I think it's still for sale if you were still looking for a car.
  5. Yeah go search about the Fidanza, it only uses 6 of the 9 stock bolts, and if you use a early N/A tranny with a 240mm Clutch then you need the turbo transmission collar.
  6. Haha it's just an L28... The goal is to get 300WHP or beat my buddy's LT1 swapped 92 RS in the quarter [shouldn't be too hard] before doing the swap. Would be nice to beat Zach's LS1 cammed and headered Trans Am though... Can't wait for January so I can do my tax return. I just hit the indicators on my back tires, so the whole refund is going for an LSD and new rubber. I'm shooting for low 13s or high 12s in May.
  7. Awesome!! I saw you were from JoMo a while back I guess I just never got in contact with you. I have a new clutch that is going in this week if I get the time, [Kind of waiting for things to thaw out down here] and I'm coming up to Joplin to visit friends as I break in the new clutch. Are you going to be around in early January? I'd love to see your 240! My email is flat black 280 at gmail dot com, same name on AIM if you ever get on there. I'd love to help you on your MegaSquirt install. Give me an email if you want some help. *edit* Here are the pictures of Flatty's Christmas presents:

  9. What year S30 do you have? I'm not familiar with the Australian S30s but my 280Z has a separate hood prop as well as the torsion bars. Chris' huge FMIC wouldn't fit until he took his bars off of his 260Z and he's using my 78's prop. Here's a picture I found on google, it's the rod sitting on the radiator support:
  10. The videos of "Christmas Donuts" made me jealous If I had to rate my Yokohamas for a snow rating, they would be 0.2 out of 10.0 lol I had to start off in second to get over 10 mph. Anyways, I took my cousin Josh for a ride to find a decent sized parking lot, this is all I could get. The short clip is the start of a really nice 360 slide but the camera died as I was doing it. Unfortunately you can't hear the terbeaux or BOV.
  11. It's in this one http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=88246 but there was only a verbal description which was a bit confusing to me.
  12. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=157454&highlight=turbo+dizzy I worked hard for that, I had to type in "83 Turbo Dizzy." It was quite a chore Merry Christmas!
  13. Shouldn't be a problem, TrumpetRhapsody is running a 240Z urethane ducted Type 1 on his 1974.5 260Z, which has the 280Z type front. The airdams attach to the bottom of the headlight buckets.
  14. Yeah I felt like people should know that they aren't 100% screwed if their unit goes bad. I was using it for several months and it read fine, I was using it to tune my fuel tables with the VE Analyzer. I haven't really tuned the car at all since October when it went out. I've heard the Innovate forums do have quite a bit of information on them as well. So... when I get back from my Holiday travels I will be sending it in.
  15. I bought my LC-1 Wideband second hand from my friend Mat, I think he bought it new and used it for about 5 miles, so this is not an old unit. The wideband was working fine until I around October this year. I was datalogging up to my parent's house on the interstate, and while I was driving, my wideband settled on 16 to 17 AFR. I pulled over immediately and checked the wiring, nothing was loose or disconnected. I pulled the fuel up so far at idle the car almost died and the AFRs did not change a bit in MegaTune. I have my 12V+ going to switched 12 Volts for Megasquirt, I have the Brown Analogue Out 2 connected to the O2 spot on the MS Relay Board. I have all of the other wires going to the same chassis ground that MS uses. I have the Brown Analogue Out 2 connected to the O2 spot on the MS Relay Board. Gave up on the wideband for a couple of months due to a large course load at school. I bought a new LSU-4 sensor [calibrated it outside the pipe] and it didn't change the problem a bit. Chris and I were working on it last night and couldn't fix it. We checked all of the regular settings, and reflashed the controller with 1.00a which was on the controller. It was reading a constant high 13.X last night, with slight dips down, nothing past 13.0. Anyone have any input on this? I would assume my controller is bad, but maybe it's something that fixable? *edit* I just called innovate about it,they told me to send it in to them after hearing the issue, they said it should most likely be fixed with no cost.
  16. Um.... I have a 3.54 open R200 in my 86 Z31 Turbo
  17. I had to make this for a guy I sent a 83 dizzy to. This is looking from the top of the connector, the plastic side, not the wire side.
  18. Updates. Good ones. Been having a great week. Got better-than-expected grades, and ordered a bunch of fun parts for Flatty. Fidanza #143281 NIS1 is getting here tomorrow, total package weight is 10.7 lbs. South Bend DXD #K06032 390WTQ Clutch was ordered today after calling their office. Details here: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=1103530#post1103530 I will update with pictures when all the goods come in. I'm taking a trip up to Indiana to visit some friends, so these won't be going in until after Christmas. Can't wait to have power back
  19. Bob what ever happened to this? Any surprises? Do you have the dimensions on the Getrag as well? [sorry buddy I know you're not done with school yet ]
  20. I've been on a mission... from god... ever since I let that 88T diff get away I hope to have an LSD installed by February to have it broken in for Branson Z Fest 2010
  21. Might I suggest putting the date of the run? I had a much different setup in May when I ran at the track. My 15.712 run was in May 2009. I had a L28E stock ECU, street tires, open diff. I will be running at the track Spring 2010 with L28E>T, MS, [drag tires?] and an LSD. I don't really think I should even be on the list though haha [12s or faster is what I consider 'fast']
  22. How bad is it? I have a Fidanza lightweight flywheel, It wasn't an issue on the 225mm KA24 clutch but I'm sure it would be really difficult to get used to on the 512 WTQ ACT N013 and 6 Puck....
  23. Ah... no video, just a slip for that rubbish 15.7 haha. I have a video of me leaving the line but not the time board. I can delete my post if you want, on re-reading the OP I just realized I'm cluttering up the thread
  24. Okay, I just got off the phone with South Bend.... I'm amazed. The guy blew my mind, I had to buy it right then. I'm getting a 240mm Clutch, part number K06032, with 390WTQ, 15% firmer pedal feel, and a modified collar and TOB for $225!!! Not only was it rated at 390WTQ, they use a Z33 Pressure plate on an organic disc, and they knew that my throw out bearing collar needed to be shorter and included it and a TOB at no extra cost! I was considering ordering a ACT N013 PP and 6 puck clutch but I didn't want it to be nasty to drive on the street. I called to ask about the clutch because there was a discrepancy on their website, the 280ZX L28ET page said the K06032 held 260WTQ, but the 300ZX VG30ET page said the K06032 held 390 WTQ. He confirmed that the 300ZX page was accurate and they hadn't updated the S130 page The best part, was when the guy said [without me telling him about it] "Hold on, I need to talk with my Nissan guy." *turns around* "hey, he needs a different collar, right?" *other guy* "280Z? yeah..." Then tells me to expect it in the mail four days from now A++ South Bend/DXD Clutch!
