  1. haha i love the lights, very rally-esque but pleasssee polish those slots =)
  2. yep he will be getting a pair i redid...picking them up this weekend, but he will be needing 2 centercaps lol
  3. I will say this...im not a huge fan of the 2+2's BUT i am about to get one for the wife to drive (because of the baby) and i will say that its really not that bad. Sure it weighs more and looks kinda "off" but traction (if you decide to build it for HP) not to mention the longer wheel base is definitely a plus in my eyes, and if youre putting it on race duty im sure it can get to sub 3#k with a little gutting. My z story goes, my grandad bought/traded up every year when they came out 70-83, and had every model including the turbos in the zx and he said what we all do "the z's were cheap sportscars and jerky very 'in touch' cars, and the zx's were alot nicer/refined and had all the fancy ****, and the turbo 5speeds were 'about as quick as the early cars' but still more plush." Well instead of trading in the 80GL my dad bought it for him and drove it forever until he got backed into in a parking lot (pass fender just a good dent) and the fuel pump went out. Let the car sit for 5 years, then put it in storage for another 5 years. Well i wanted it but couldnt pry it from him so i bought a nice rust free 79 280zx, because it was manual rack,5 speed, lightest of the bunch, no automatic BS to go out/replace....i put bigger swaybars on it, tokico illuminas all aroung (spent 3 months looking for rears that had been out of production for 4 years, and got very lucky) with eibach lowering springs, strut tower braces, intake, header, 2 1/2 exhuast, practically new interior from a friends car he bought and blew the motor in (was redone in vinyl/velour by PO)....all i ever had to do to that car was put a fan motor in and a radiator. It was great to me, but my dad decided he couldnt be out done, so he was starting to build his car, took all my suspension parts off, sold them to him, and the car for more than i paid only a year later (bought for 1700, sold for 2250). Then i got a shitty rusty z...and bought my dads zx after hating how cold/hot/rigid the z was, it was a great track toy and all but i missed a rust free car, carpet, a/c, heat, you know the stuff you want in a daily. So then i started on what was my dads car rebuilding it slowly, all new brakes, ratty 35+ yr tan to perfect black interior, body kit, all the suspension, group buy wheels (after measuring and everyone asking in the thread) i figured id prove they would fit on a stock body non fender rolled zx and ofcourse they did. tons of other stuff...but did i mention i just cleaned up the engine and started it right up and it ran great, no smoke, for a year untill a robello stroker with trips went in its place. Finally i had a car that not only looked great but instead of a 120hp motor i had something to shut all the 350z's, gt stangs, m3's, etc up while still being in my "old car" with a "stock motor." Sold it to my dad, and he totalled it 28 days later....idiot, but now im starting on the womans 2+2 and going to make it look good along with finishing up my "drift" zx which just needs some odds and ends and itll be ready as well. I would rather have a zx anyday because i love their handling, the "weight" can easily be taken care of if you want to go fast, the creature comforts/smoother ride is addicting, and personally i love the lines of the coupes...the 2+2 will have to grow on me lol. the "drifter" and ofcourse the other zx i had... ...oh yea then this happened The "new 2+2"
  4. Maybe you didnt see where i said WIDE tires...225 is a cute size almost like 195 and 215....great for looking rediculous on 8,9,10" rims but that size you listed fits a 7" rim...again pretty damn skinny especially when stock wheels are 6's how many of those minivans/suvs are running street tires (not truck/terrain) 245/50/16 (8") or 275-315/50/16s?
  5. ive got a brand new header from msa (has egr but has a bolt in it if you are skipping that) again brang new and ill do 225 shipped to you
  6. ive still got an early 260 thats got a perfect interior...just needs some fuel/wires run in the engine bay (all stock just rebuilt and needs to be hooked up) all kinds of new parts...the kicker is it needs new floor pans, BUT i have a set from another car i could put in for some extra cash. Just let me know if you are interested. -Jeff Datsundriver88@hotmail.com
  7. im saying read the reviews for defects/misfires, guns being "great" or "sucking" is normally depending on the user preferences, look for the facts not opinions. Hence why so many people carry different guns and mostly is because of the size/weight which will obviously affect their aim/spread if they arent used to it/used to something else.
  8. its all a give and take lol but 16" wide tires are getting harder and harder to find, 15s will never go away though. Think about how many old cars, trucks, etc use 15's (stock and aftermarket) and alot are wider where most older cars (imports or american) didnt use 16s and now alot of 16s arent even used on new cars, and when they are either have huge 70-75 sidewall or are low profile like 40-35
  9. no name calling here oh "troll" people's just in for the lulz which is what i do in almost every thread he makes, its just funny. Taurus, Sig sauger, etc are cheaper models, hell just take the "shoot as many as you can" advice and see what fits. I have carried a few S&W's, a Sig, glocks, etc depends on my mood, what clothing im wearing, and where i am going as to capacity...allthough i dont know many people that actually would need more than a few shots if put in a bad situation, which is why i like carrying my hammerless .38 i can put it in my pocket and noone really know its there. Nothing wrong with "cheaper" guns really just make sure to read reviews as some production runs are cut short or stopped because of defects, frequent misfiring, etc
  10. theyre the later turbo/81-83 style tails with decals/ or paint... heres mine stock with a center section...
  11. no i was talking about tire selection, how it will look goofy riding high without a drop/way to keep the wheel gap minimal and not rubbing/scraping the crap out of the tires. and yea flares is a given but a flare is tapered ie not the same width so a tire would have to stretch to not be "square/flat" which would rub the flare if it was low. Sounds like your car will be high enough up with just springs and hopefully you have illuminas/adjustables to keep the bumps from pushing that tire up too far. Tire choices are just alot easier in 15 and 17s...15s have bigger sidewall, but thats more grip and aloows for stretching, and 17s have every size you could want but you do have to run shorter sidewalls, but with a good suspension setup the 275-40-17s and 235-40-17s were not a problem at all on my zx
  12. in before the shedding....with a picture of young josh perhaps...
  13. you realize you cant fit fat sidewalls on a really wide rim on our car....itll have to be stretched...so whats the point again?
  14. man i wish people like you would send me work like this, i love building customer cars where they are lax and let you work on the car in installments, BUT getting paid as each section is completed. I get the ones that want you to do everything then pay for it which ofcourse puts me in a bad spot but alot of people dont really care...im building 2 cars right now for guys in NY and they are great, timing, schedule, parts, payments everything. It just takes time and you have to get someone you can trust and that will send you updates on a regular schedule...and not pay in advance, the motivation is slowed/lost if they already have the money....hence why most of our projects are waiting lol because im busy making money/working on customer cars that when i have a few days....i really dont want to work on my own =)
  15. To clear it up a littl, i dont like whiners that cant defend themselves in a fair hand to hand fight, that feel that carrying a gun will save them from that situation by reaching behind their back and saying some stupid line which would make me think they have a gun because i will drop them, whether or not they have a gun, oh well they said they did and reached for something...think of what a cop would do and when he would be justified, its about the same. Also im not a fan of anyone that thinks carrying a gun is for everyday self defense....people carry for years and most never even use the weapon. The point is you have it if you absolutely have to but 99% of the time you wont need it or be justified to use it. And lastly i dont want some punk kid that cant shoot carrying a gun because i dont the chance of myself, my family, or anyone else for that matter getting hit by said dipshits stray bullets, justified or not. and since this thread is crap...please try this gun out at the range... its even got a fancy hammer
  16. Haha Nick you still need that gas tank lol, but seriously wait a year then see where you are mentally, have shot alot of guns/might own one that could be carried, and then you will be old enough to actually think about getting a liscense. Others just say it better/less blatantly than me but you really dont need to carry a gun, as much as i hate the attitude you have right now and people that have the same concept/thoughts about having a chl...i wouldnt want you to deal with anything ive said, jail, killing someone, someone killing you, etc just because your another human being and i wouldnt want you to be put in that spot. But carrying a gun is a huge liability not only to everyone around you (bad guy, little girl you didnt mean to hit, old ladies dog you killed, etc eith stray shots, or you if someone took your own gun and used it on you, your girlfriend etc to leave "no witnesses").
  17. they just replace the stock rubber tops that come on your car,and mount the same as stock hence the "bolt in solution"
  18. Haha braap im not trying to stir, and after rereading it i see where he was going with his thought/interpretation of what i said. Its not a political thing, its just i think Josh need to leave the gun carrying to someone else (hence saying cops since they do it for a living), and not worry about any of this because he isnt old enough, doesnt know what he is talking about, and doesnt have any real time/skill with shooting a gun (obviously). Sorry Jon for not making myself clear in the first place. but there are alot of other things people have said in this thread that isnt correct/applies to tx carry laws that needs to be cleared up, but i was going to wait for a response. Like the fact that you cannot carry a gun on you or even have one in your car if you are on certain property like his school campus (UTA) which was brought up earlier and not correct. They made that law here in tx after all of the school shootings etc, not to mention the fact that anywhere where there is a sticker saying it is not allowed...you cannot carry there either, permit or not. Like bars, churches, private business', etc
  19. i had some cheap ebay seats in my old zx and loved em, vinyl/pleather type tho, not the fabric
  20. Well Let me further make points as to my statement in a very NON political statement. Reasons why i said that... First his questions scream "i want to carry a gun" which like most things, when people reallllly want to do something they will whether or not its safe, they understand the point of doing so, the responsibility, etc etc Second i wouldnt trust his thought process/decision making ability at all. Heres a few listed point... 1. He isnt old enough to carry or apply for a chl 2. He mentioned pulling a gun on someone unloaded 3. He mentioned taking someone down, etc 4. He cant hit the broad side of a barn as stated earlier with a horrible spread He obviously doesnt know much of anything about the laws here in Texas, hence the questions, isnt old enough to take the class to legally carry (so he shouldnt even be worried about what gun to carry) Theres alot more i could say but i will sum it up with...im 22, have a level head, a chl, guns, and HARDLY ever carry on my person. Damn skippy i have the gun in my car, and a few at my house, but carrying a gun on you where you could pull it out/someone could see it are two totally different things. He obviously has made many stupid comments in this thread like "my girlfriend cant even take out the trash without guys whistling" lol first, then YOU take out the trash Mr. Man, second wth does that have to do with carrying a gun....you gonna shoot someone for whistling? I would just see him going to jail for a while, which might be a good thing as far as having time alone to think, he wouldnt ever be able to carry again legally, and he would learn that level-headed thing out and why everyone and their dog doesnt carry guns. But i would feel bad for whomever he shot or killed because of his mistake. There are just alot of things to think about when it comes to even getting a chl, much less carrying on a daily basis, not to mention laws, legallity, etc...which i will be waiting for a response and will answer/share more reasons accordingly.
  21. hah just saw this thread....you dont need to carry. Its really that simple, get a shotgun for the house and let the cops carry. But you dont need to.
  22. Seriously why are you not just buying the rotas? The rotas look alot better than those d windows, were made for our cars, and arent much more. BUT you never said whether the $167 each was a shipped price, if not then they are probably as much or more than the rotas, not to mention ALOT heavier, and finding 4 bolt, correct offset wheels is a PITA...hence the whole point of the groupbuy. As far as weight goes, you get what you pay for, 15" xxr/sportmax/drw are going to have a weight difference (possibly HUGE) vs a 15" work/ssr/ccw/kodiac etc....you either pay for a light CUSTOM wheel, or you get a medium weight/price wheel, or you get a cheap HEAVY wheel. Those are your options and really your only choices.
  23. take up all that carpet and junk, take it all out, grind to metal (which looks like its bubbling/rusting on the inside already), and add/weld some 2x3 steel tubing to the floor with holes in it (like stock) for mounting the slider/rails to. Problem solved, might cost you $50-75 and will be a hell of alot safer than what you have not to mention wont beat up or make your car rust anymore.
