  1. Yeah mine did that too, strip/break no matter how cautious you are...
  2. The are installed the same as stock, they go in the same way the stock ones came out, hope this helps... Oh, and Your picture didnt work so Im unsure of the collar you spoke of, are we talking front or rear struts? Hope this helped
  3. I got the airdam for 20 bucks, couldnt pass it up. Im actualy thinking I like it better without the turn signals installed, I think I will just put a black mesh screen there or something so its not so empty looking.
  4. Very cool, and some very cool body work on other parts of that site as well: http://www.studiotimecapsule.com/restoration_of_twiggys_toyota_2000gt
  5. You will have to open up the shifter hole a little bit, its really thin metal so its easy, I used a hack saw. Other then that it fits and mounts up the same, and yeah it fits the console to.
  6. does it seam to happen at particular times such as left or right turns? that could help give it away. The first place I would look is where the wire run threw the fire wall, thats where there is rubbing and the wire could be worn down and grounding out, also, pulling the dash is a lot easier then it seams if it comes down to that.
  7. I know I already have a project thread but some times its good to hear your comments, words of encouragement, and constructive criticism, I need a lot of all of that right now. So to start things off here are some never before seen pictures of my 77 280z when I first got my hands on her, almost a year ago now. A simple and probably incomplete list of what I have accomplished in my year of owning this car: Basic repairs: This car was to be my daily driver so I had to get everything up to pair, this includes but it not limited to: Fixing driver side door to open from the outside, New blower motor/fan and heater vent ducts, New wiper motor and linkage, fixing shorts in electrical system. Surface rust repair: Including new fenders, non louvered hood. Body work: Removed the fugly bumpers, shaved the antenna hole, Fixed the larger dents. Custom speaker box enclosure: Consisting of two 8's, two3's, and two vents. Suspension: Just to get it lower and better then stock using MSA lowering springs and KYB struts. Rattle can paint: I wanted the car to be one color, plus the color of the new fenders and hood I got were yellow, I was not about to have a yellow/blue/primer daily driver, Looks ten times better IMHO, Also added the airdam here. Interior carpet kit: Carpet was going to be a finishing touch but I got such a good deal on the carpet I couldnt pass it up. Manual conversion: As you can see the car was an auto when I recieved it, I did all of the conversion process including the actual tranny swap in a Kragen parking lot. I had to have a manual, so much more enjoyable. L28et: I got bit by the go fast bug and dropped in an l28et, Supra intercooler, Soon to be upping the boost. And the Result: And here is the bad side When I bought the car I was 16 (17 now), It was the first car Id ever owned and I knew nothing about Z's, or cars in general. I learned fast and worked hard, paying for and doing all of the work to the car myself with the help of my friends. It is nowhere near finished, but it is to a point were I can look at it with pride. Stage 1 complete. THANK YOU HYBRIDZ!!! Now its your turn to tell me what you think, and tell me what you think I should do next. Thanks again.
  8. Cool car but kinda ugly when compared to a s30 if you ask me.
  9. SEARCH, na to turbo conversion, boosting an na, s30 turbo, l28e turbo... there are so many threads
  10. you will also need the zxt injectors and ECU/Harness/AFM
  11. did you see how big phil hit his on a certain spot to raise the fuel pressure? Its in one of his earlier vids whe h e converted his NA to turbo I believe
  12. so then its only starving when its starting... Although this usualy wouldnt cause the car not to start, is you cold start injector working or hooked up?
  13. will it start with starting fluid?
  14. I have the same problem on my diff!!! Stubborn is an understament. Nothing can get it loose!
  15. I would use the hybridz search function, There are pics of it and everything. iirc its in the booster and falls out of place on occasion, its a simple matter of putting it back where it belongs. But dont trust me, search
