  1. Make sure it will fit since you will have to add another 6-8" to the width for the 90* elbows.
  2. Unless the trap speed was well above 150mph, something is not right there.
  3. Check out this one. Awesome 996 GT3 chasing an Aston Martin at Spa and then..........WTF? http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=b7051dd6f1
  4. I saw the old car run at Moroso in So Fl after he drove it down from NJ. He was running shaved Toyo tires, drove around the water box and just slightly hazed the tires. Car did a massive wheelie off the line, pull the wheels on the 1-2 shift and put a little air under the front tires on the 2-3. My jaw dropped and I am still scratching my head. Cannot imagine what this new car will do. I am amazed that soon as he is back someone like HKS would back him considering the trouble he was in before. Regardless, glad he is back and I will certainly be rooting for him. He is in for a surprise though if he thinks he will just come back and dominate.
  5. Correction! This is THE BEST CAR-ENTHUSIAST WEBSITE period!
  6. This should get the attention of the L28et community How about 100+hp (AT THE WHEELS!) per cylinder? That's what I was pushing with the Speedpro hypers/coated skirt running pump and meth-injection.
  7. Awesome Wayne. Looking forward to seeing it run again.
  8. Excellent point. There is this misperception that a bigger turbo automatically means more lag and that is not correct. There are several parts to a turbo, 2 of which have significant effect on spoolup. If you are a dyno queen or like to "run from a roll", then the Q-trim exhaust wheel and 1.01 a/r makes sense . OTOH, theses are the cars that make 800hp on the dyno but run 10.80 @ 148 in the 1/4-mile. Another common factor that affects spoolup is the tune, running too rich and not enough timing at low RPMs. Ironically, most people understand the concept of a hybrid turbo but that thinking seems to go out the window when it comes time to get a real "big-boy" turbo because of the bigger is better syndrome.
  9. Went back and reread this post and that quote is from July 2002. I wonder if Z-Gad read that at the time :D Simplybebop, so what you are saying is that a stock V8 has more torque than a well set up 2JZ-GTE with a single. Well, confirms what I said about your knowledge of turbo cars.
  10. #44 was there, along with #71 and 53 (58?). There were also 3 Esperantes and according to a sheet I saw posted, the #22 Esperante was fastest in the morning session. The 997 is a lot more aggressive looking with the larget rear tire and what appears to be a much larger wing. The only P1 car was the old (and SLOW) Jean Richard car making that clas a sham this year. There were no GT1s and with only Corvette announcing a commitment, that makes GT1 also a sham. The competition will be in P2 with the Penske and Dyson Porsches, the Acuras, Field and whatever it is Mazda is coming up with. Man those Acuras make a nice nice!
  11. Operative word.....SHOULD. You apparently do not know much about turbo engines.
  12. Congrats. I will be at Sebring tomorrow (Monday) for practice.
  13. I thgought so, thats why I asked. I remember seeing another post about Supra injectors but I did not read it so they were probably talking about the 7M.
  14. Sorry folks, but I have been out of the loop on what OEM injectors Z-cars are using these days. Are 2JZ-GTE injectors of use to turbo Zs? What are they going for?
  15. Interesting post. I take the comments from Honda, Supra, et al boards with a grain of salt as most are parrots or think that anything w/o the brand names cannot be good. Would love to hear from actual users not "I heard about this guy who heard about another guy that....." I just have a hard time ponying up the crazy coin that companies like Tial, HK$ and Greedy ask for their products.
  16. WARNING Might Not Be Work/wife/kids Safe!!!
  17. Dont know if the "44B" means .44 a/r. If you plan to run a T04 then give it a shot. if it is laggy then worst case you have to redo the DP-to-turbo flange. Here is where the beauty of a standalone comes into play allowing you to program in a leaner mixture and more timing just at the spot where you have lag.
  18. My initial reaction is that puppy will make some power. I would probably guess it still has the GN turbine wheel with a modified housing. That modified turbine side will probably cause some lag on a relatively stock L28ET.
  19. John, my flanges were CNC'd and the bends were 45*. The key was how the pipe was clocked on the flange to get clearance between the bellhousing and the tunnel.
  20. Seems there is stil a demand for these. Why dont someone organized a group buy and talk to Mazworx here in Orlando to punch them out on their CNC.
