Hehehe, it happens. I started playing poker with some guys from work recently and to say the least things have been going good for me.... Week one...won game one $50(played 2 games) Week two...won game one $100 Week three...won the game and the bounty $110 To say the least I think the guys I'm playing with are a little annoyed. I bought them breakfast the last 2 weeks though so I'm not being a total dick about it. I took one guy out on a straight draw this week. I had a 7-8 unsuited. Bet $100 pre flow(10/20 blinds) thinking I could push some guys out, nope all 6 guys call(these guys call just about everything I have found, preflop). So a 9-K-5 come out. I'm think ok, gut shot but I'll try to see if anyone has a K, so I push $300 out there and 3 guys call. Next card is a 2. That probably didn't help anyone so I push $1000 out there thinking for sure everyone will fold, nope 1 guy calls me. So then the river card comes out and its a 6! BAM I hit the card I need so I push $3000 out there which is almost all the other guys chips so he says all in so I call the last $340 of his chips and he flips them over.......he's got 2 pair and I have a 6-10 straight! Boy was he pissed! LOL He didn't understand why I was betting so high on a gut shot straight draw!? I told him I was just trying to buy the pot and on the last card I caught what I needed other wise I would have checked or folded! Heheheheh! Sometimes the river can be ugly! What I don't tell these guys is that I play probably 2 hours of poker every night after work on my computer! They think I'm just lucky! If I win this next week I think they're going to kill me!LOL Guy

My New Wheels Arrived...
80LS1T replied to Mikelly's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Those wheels are going to look awesome! I wished that I would have gone with a dished wheel! I would need flares though to go with a big enough wheel! And who's car is that olderthanme? It's absolutely stunning! Guy -
I did not have to do this on my car but I think some guys have moved them to the motor mounts some how. I would keep them if you can. It's always nice to have the PCM still have control over stuff if $hit hits the fan! LOL Guy

fired up but only two pistons working???
80LS1T replied to piston's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
Yeah but that wont tell you if its clogged. Just as another note they should be in the 10-14ohm range. All mine are around 13 ohms. Guy -

80LS1T replied to piston's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
What year LT1 are you working on? Here is a 1995 LT1(camaro z28) wiring diagram for the injectors... What kind of harness are you using? Stock but modified or a Painless? Who did the wiring if its been modified? Also remember that a spark plug under compression in a cylinder is a lot harder to fire than one outside of a cylinder so you could still have a spark issue. Just by testing for spark with a screw driver doesn't always mean a good strong spark. It does sound more like a clogged injector issue. Did you clean the tank in your car with anything(aka, did any junk from the tank get caught up in rail and maybe clog some injectors?). I can't believe that you can rev it up on 3 cylinders, I would have thought that it would have died? Do you have a OBD code reader? If its running like you say it is it will probably set a misfire code for the cylinders that you say aren't firing. Guy -
help! how do I set up v8 carb with 280zx linkage?
80LS1T replied to MAXIMUS's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
Yeah I had to modify my gas pedal so it would travel the full 100% of the throttle sweep too. Guy -
help! how do I set up v8 carb with 280zx linkage?
80LS1T replied to MAXIMUS's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
I'll try to explain how I set it up on my LT1. What I did was take the ball end of the old linkage that goes just inside the firewall (hooks up to the gas pedal)and screw that onto the end of a LOKAR 24" SS flexable cable and hooked that to the throttle body. I then made a bracket for the firewall to hold the cable steady. Then I used the supplied nuts on the cable to secure it to the throttle body. Hope that helps some! Guy -
280ZX v8 swap.. making room for drivers side header
80LS1T replied to defrag010's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
Yup, JTR is the one who makes a header for the V8 conversion and like Paz8 said its for the 82-83' power rack set up. I too had to build a header for the drivers side. I just used a regular block hugger on the passenger side though. Guy -

When I had the 93' LT1 harness and ECM all I had to do when updating to the 95' opti was get a new harness for it. It will plug right into your current harness. As for the cam dowel pin, I beleive you can just buy the dowel and put it in the cam you have now. You just have to put it at the proper depth. It just seems like a waste to buy a GM opti if you want the ACCEL unit. You will have to update it later anyways so you might as well do it now rather than speed $250+ on an opti that you won't want later. Guy
-
Just update your timing cover to a 95. Then you can buy the Accel. I think I paid like $30 for a timing cover a few years ago when I built my LT1. I bought a 96' though. I wouldn't recommend that though because it has a hole in the bottom of th timing cover for a crank sensor and you will have to block it off like I did. I'm pretty sure that's an air pump. The vent on top of the opti should go to the intake elbow and the bottom one should go to the intake manifold(that's the way I have it anyways and I haven't had any issues. Guy

Im just waiting for someone to say they can't find a box big enough! LOL Guy
-
I have found that often bolts break off and you can just turn them out with a pair of vise grips pretty easy. No heat but lube usually helps. You might find that the bolt is not even "stuck" and will just turn out. I only have problems when I trying to take a rusty bolt out of a rusty hole. Then you get bolts that break off and the threaded part gets stuck/seized, this usually when it gets to be a PITA! Guy
-
You should be fine where you are. They are all even so you shold be fine. Like Nismopick said, 18 ft-lbs really isn't much even when compared to 8 ft-lbs.
-
Did you drain the engine before pulling the heads? If not that would explain why you have coolant in the cylinders(when you pull the heads it pooled into the heads. If your engine was hydrolocked that would explain why you had coolant in the intake(it probably got pushed back out the intake valve, atleast thats the only think I can think of). The big question would be why did both banks have coolant in them? I could see one headgasket going but not both at the same time(I mean its possible but highly unlikely). You probably should have pressure checked you coolant system before pulling it apart to see if its leaking down internally and where if it is. It's just a guessing game now unless you have your block checked and your heads checked for cracks. Guy

S130 monstertach and 270 KMH speedo install
80LS1T replied to frank280zx's topic in Fabrication / Welding
I know all about cutting up that cluster! It sure can get hairy quick! I did something sililar to you but then took it a step further. It was actually much easier to just replace all four gauges than to try to make the other ones work after hacking up the back of the cluster. I also made it removable by putting the wirnig through 2 connectors. Guy -
Well if thats true then you should be putting down over 450 HP to the ground with those trap numbers! MPH seems a bit high but the 11.55 I could believe. Either way, smokin deal!! Also what kind of rear suspension does it have? I want to know how he got 10" rims in the rear with out flares or rolling the fenders(atleast it doesn't look like their rolled...)

starting 280ZX SBC conversion kit
80LS1T replied to V8_DatZun's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
I don't think there is a huge market for motor mounts because JTR and MSA both have them. JTR already makes the headers for the rack and pinion set up so that will be hard to sell too. If you came up with a set of headers for the big gear box type steering I think they would sell. I don't know how many times I've told people that there isn't a header that will just bolt up on the drivers side. If you had a set of 1.75" shorty headers made for this steering system I think you could sell a few sets for sure. Guy -

80LS1T replied to V8_DatZun's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
I might be interested in a 1.75" header shorty or longtube. What kind of power steering system will these headers fit on though? It would be nice if it was for the gear box type! JTR already makes the ones that fit the rack and pinion type. Guy -
Yeah that can make up for the feedback that A-hole gave me for paying so fast and having good communicatin! Local pick up is not an option and there is no insurance avabliabl. Guy
-
He's trying to say that I left a negative feedback because there are like 4 other ones from other ebay members infront of me! Nismopick, I'll be sure to post that question! LOL THANKS! It cost me $0.60 for the auction listing but it was worth every penny so far! HEHEHEHEHE! Guy

So I orderd some graphics for my LTR 450 4 wheeler on OCT 29th 2006 from an ebay seller. I paid for them that night through paypal but for some reason the payment did not go through so I had to resend it 2 days later, still a pretty fast payment by most standards. He emailed a in those 2 days asking for my payment but I didn't get it because I was out of town. So anyways, I send my payment and wait a week, still no parts(he said 2-3 priority mail). So I email him, wait a week, no response. So now I flood his email with over a 100 messages of the samething..."where are my graphics, please respond!". Wait a week......NOTHING! NO RESPONSE STILL! Now I'm pissed so I file a claim through paypal....wait a week, no response to that either! So last night I finally had enough and filed a negative feedback.......well now he finally responses and asks why I did that!? I said its been over a month and I still don't have my stuff thats why! He tells me if I retract my negative feedback that he will send out my graphics via DHL 2 day express. So then he writes another email asking me if I want a refund or my parts, I say I want the graphics. Then a little while later he emails me again saying that he sent them out on the 29th of NOV but he's going to try to cancel the order through USPS(yeah right!). He's answering his emails just fine now! Funny that it takes negative feedback to get some people off their a$$! His feedback up to the last 3 days has been perfect but now he's got like 4 for the samething.... No communication / no parts delivered! I took the liberty last night to make my own auction! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=014&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=330058910794&rd=1,1 Oh and the reason that the parts haven't been shipped is because "he's moving his warehouse from location X to location Y." Yeah like I care, don't put up auctions if you dont have the time to move and keep your business running! Guy

Did not retorque the heads after 1 hour of running
80LS1T replied to v80z's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
I have never retorqued a head afer running and engine and I've never hand an issue... Im not saying its a bad idea but I don't think its manditory. Chances are the gasket is blown if you can can hear it leaking. But its probably worth a try to retorque them. Guy -
Bartman our cars are going to be twins if I deceid to go with the 2 tone paint! LOL Still undecied at this point but that black/blue sure does look nice! Yes, the spoiler is made out of fiberglass. I really hope there isn't any issues with cracking. I used a super high strength 2 part "epoxy" glue to attach the 3 pieces to the body(onto bare metal). Then I put a layer of fiberglass cloth and resin(gel type) over all of the edges on the spoiler pieces. I then closed the open ends of the 3 pieces with fiberglass cloth and resin(gel). Getting the gap right between the 3 pieces was the hardest part(no helpful hints there, just patience). I really don't think cracking will be an issue because there won't be much stress on these parts. I can rock the whole car by pulling and pushing on the end pieces and it doesn't move at all! I'll try to post so more picture went its all smoothed out and sanded! Guy
