  1. oops Tony correct as usual. Thought you had turbo! My injectors will not work.
  2. Only issue is I am not running the j-tube. I am running an intercooler, so plumbing the intake pipes are an issue.
  3. well,,,,,where are you at in this issue? Hope some things are happening!
  4. Do you have a gauge on your fuel system? Just to verify you are getting gas. Is the pump good? Sounds more like a fuel delivery issue.
  5. did it use the j-tube around to the intakes throttle body correct? I was trying to keep the straight flow of the air into the turbo from a front mounted intake before the inter-cooler.
  6. Bummer,, i was hoping that would fix the problem. I am running stock boost and car runs good. Actually seems better, have about 500 miles on this build now.
  7. Found on E-Bay. My understanding is that there is a reprogrammed E-prong put into the z31 ecu. I am almost positive it is not Nistune. I had that in my 95 240sx, still have the program on my laptop and the licensing. Just wish I had the motor and ecu!
  8. So is there no way of telling if it was reprogrammed or new e-prong installed?
  9. Got my 88 z31 ecu. Sent out and got it tuned for my 500cc injectors using a Z32 MAF. Do not have time for 2 more weeks to install it...
  10. OK, I purchased this ecu , 88 turbo model. I am going to install into my 74 260z that has a running working 83 ecu/turbo installed. I sent this out to a person that says they know how to tune this ecu. I gave them the parts list that I am either installing on my car, (500cc inj, Z32 maf will be installed) or currently running Schneiders 270-60F-14 camshaft, 2 1/2 in exhaust. intercooler. Well after much ado I got the ecu back. Does anyone have pictures of the inside of the ecu. Just don't know if he did anything and with the lack of communication and excuses just a little concerned.
  11. Paid 3.91$ gallon for 93 octane last night.
  12. also check for vacuum leaks that would stop it from firing or very hard to start.
  13. Thanks for that information. I will probably go with new style R134a compressor. I read somewhere the new ones take less HP to run as well. So will do a full upgrade with new parts to avoid chasing my tail.
  14. I am installing a new ecu (Z31) in the next week , upgrading to 500cc injectors. I will be selling my stock 280zx turbo injectors then. I will let you know.
  15. Yeah saw one on a car here in town. But fabing one may be a way to go. My dad was helping a friend fab brackets for A/C install on early VW's this past year. They were making brackets so they could still get the large dual carbs 48 IDA's on the car. Them old school guys want 200hp with A/C in there old vw's. True meaning of Air cooled at that.
  16. As Tony said biggest issue is the flow of the 440cc inj, it will be to rich. You would have to get an ecu that can be adjusted to those or tuned. Z31 ecu can be tuned for this application and can with some modification be plugged into the z's harness.
  17. Installed it finally.... I removed the dash to do this, I know I didnt have to. But was trying to trace down my other electrical issues. Took about 5 hours of removal and re-install. I used the stock tach housing to mount the new tach in. Just had to screw some securing bolts into the stock housing to hold the new tach into place. Works well.
  18. Installed my new Speedhut tach. 10,000rpm with shift light
  19. Yeah I took the a/c off to do the turbo install. My current setup with AFM is in the original spot of the a/c compressor. Way to crowded on the drivers side.
  20. Has anyone moved the A/C compressor to the passenger side? With a turbo install in a 280/260/240. The intake is in the same position that the compressor was in. So you could make a bracket that attaches the the passenger side of the car. Then run lines to drier/evap/condensor and into the cabin from there. Or just route the intake around the stock position of the a/c to infront of the intercooler and don't try to re-invent the wheel!!!!
  21. Yeah the numbers are crazy. My brother is back inthe market and is looking at twin turbo 300z's they are like 4000-25000. I was thinking of getting another z for a driver and make my current car more of a track car. Prices low on datsun z's are 2000 to a high of 20000$ Oh well....
