Well I finally got my lifter replaced and engine assembled. I am ready to drop it in. I put in my distributor with the rotor facing the number one piston, top dead center on the compression stroke..yada yada yada. My question is do I start with the number one plug wire on the post that is pointing toward the number one piston (same as the rotor ) and then work my way around clockwise 18436572? Someone please advise, I dont want to do this incorrectly. CorZette

Well, I was going to drop the engine in this weekend....got my final parts (shorter Pushrods 7.195 inches for hydraulic roller vice 7.8 for non roller) put them all in after making sure they were filled will oil. I set my preloads and turned the engine over by hand etc...all seemed well....THEN..one of my push rods just fell out and was dangling...WTF? Well further inspection showed that the lifter collasped...like there was nothing in the lifter tube but airspace. This sucks because the retrofit replacement for ONE lifter (pair) is $72 total. I ordered one never the less. Now I have to wait another week for it to get here...JAPAN. Has anyone ever had this problem out of the box? One out of 16 is a blessing but damn. I haven't had very good luck with Summit. This is the second time (before was piston type) that they told me my current lifters were discontinued and are sending me the recommended replacement. WHY do they sell you somnething that they know has been replaced. To clear stock I guess. They did the same with my Hypers and I had to get a whole new set because the old style was obsolete two months after I bought them. Im starting to hate Summit and there ideoligy. Is there a fix for the lifter or did I do the right thing in getting another one? Moral of the story is when you order from Summit/Jegs, make sure you ask them if the parts your ordering are current up to date and if not, dont get em....thanks for listening.....Im stressing out over here...cant wait to get back to the USA! Can anyone tell me where I can order a Water Temp Sender for the 1975 350? It is the type that screws into the water neck.... CZ

Can anyone tell me, WHAT HEADBOLTS NEED THE LIQUID TEFLON THREAD SEALER APPLIED? Is it only the headbolts on the outside of the heads or the insides as well? CZ

Thanks for the reply guys. I hope ACE has them. All I know is the stock bolts dont even make it thru to the other side with the GM flange on the rear. I suspect 1 1/8 will work but you guys that have this upgrade will know better than me. Thanks for looking out. I have money in Hand. Let me know when to send my Address and money!!!

I am having problems finding Grade 8 bolts to use for mounting the rear drive shaft flange (GM TYPE) to the Differential R200. Once we do the upgrade to the GM flange, we must have longer bolts to mount it. If anyone can go to thier local bolt store and get me 4 proper length grade 8 bolts and nuts, I will pay you $10 plus shipping. Is that a deal or what? Looks like it needs 1 1/4 inch long or so if Im guessing correctly. ZFAN have you done this upgrade? Can someone help me over here. Man I am very thankful for the great people on this board, because Hybridz has not failed me yet. Any takers? Please!!!! CorZette

Yeah Stony, I know. Thats what happens when they spend all of thier girlfriends money to support thier habits...lol. If I had the time and money, there wouldnt ever be a problem. Its all about money I guess. The big difference is that I can still rotate to the states and those poor bastards are stuck here for life! Hell they are paying over $3000 for a fricken crank...lol. I have a friend here in Okinawa that bought a spirit R. Runs 14 flat stock. 280 HP from the crank. A computer chip upgrade, porting and bigger turbo and hes in the 400 range. He has 438 rear gears. Im gonna benchmark from him then go tear up up some locals after he races them...My Z should be in the high 11's low 12's I suspect. 450HP build....gonna be fun...

I just bled my brakes and the pedal really goes further than I wanted. It gets hard about 1 inch from the floor and then goes no further. Should I lengthen the rod connecting to the pedal? There is about a 2 inch travel before it gets harder. Also if I buy a vacuum canister and install it, will it help with the braking at all? CorZette

I also ordered the COMP-9 modular wiring harness today and will prob change it out AFTER I get it running the end of this month. God Okinawa sucks tail. I cant wait to get home with a garage, Lowes, and a race track etc.. CZ Out...
