  1. Scottie, I don't why (lol) but I hook up just fine. There is very minimal tire spin (like almost none) when I take off. I am running Nitto extreme drag radials 555r, 275 -50-15s. I really like them alot. They hook well on the street so track should be even better. Is this a rare thing? CZ
  2. Jap Tin, I wish I was going to California so I could see your car. I am going to Texas, 2200 feet elevation. I am at sealevel here in Oki so I am sure I will lose a little power at the higher altitude... CZ
  3. By the way I wouldnt be surprized if you were running 450+ from the rear. The way these guys here are getting power out of there cars, 450 from a twin turbo is a little low....you know who Im talking about. Hell theres a guy I just talked to that says hes putting out almost 400 to the rear from a 20DET turbo 4 banger. Turbos are cool with no limits....I know its all about money CZ
  4. The car went on the port today for that long trip back home. Yeah I know those numbers are just estimates, but theres nothing a little NOS won't cure. Well as long I decide to stay naturally aspirated. Then theres that 383 or 406 thing to ponder...With a little more work 10s should be a piece of cake. I do plan on buying another engine after I get my frame issues and axles issues fixed. Probably a solid rear as well. Hell the skys the limit then. Money is not an issue at this point so it will be fun. I think I should just find a chassis already built and go from there. This car will be my little 11 sec N/A daily driver. I can build a more serious one soon! What if I turboed a 406?....lol CZ
  5. Well according to all the calculations I input my Z should run the following times: Vehicle Weight 2660 Rear Wheel Horsepower 379.4 Estimated E.T (sec.) 11.1486 Trap Speed 122.26 Just estimates but at least I know Ill be running 11s.... CZ.....now for a shot of NOS.... Lets say only a 75 shot and only 50 HP of that gets to the rear wheels... Vehicle Weight 2660 Rear Wheel Horsepower 429.4 Estimated E.T (sec.) 10.69 Trap Speed 127.41 Check em out and see how close they are for your times... http://www.rpmoutlet.com/dyno.htm http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/4601/hpcalc.html
  6. I was going home today from the hobby shop and a motorcycle pulls in front and starts revving on me looking back. I guess thats because my car sorta looks like the fricken Batmobile. When the light turned green we both floored it and I got in the left lane and when I hit second I was passing him. I had to let off because the cars in front were coming up fast. Man you ought to have seen the look on his face...I think he had a 750 something, not a crotch rocket though....it was fun. 4 and 0... CZ
  7. Whew!!!!!! Hey frustration builds character...
  8. Roger that...have a safe trip. My roll cage came in today and I have already got it pieced together in the car. I will bolt it in this weekend. Talk to ya again sometime... Terry
  9. I met Stony and his gorgeous little daughter last night. I just wanted to say it was a pleasure and wish you and your family a safe trip back to Alaska. I know you can find a way to knock off that last 10th to get into the 10 sec club. I think the solid axle conversion will definately do it for ya! Thanks for the info on snapping stub axles. Kinda scary but Im glad the disk rears are coming, it may save my butt one day. Take care and if I can ever help with anything please ask.... By the way my car asked me who you were and didnt know why a stranger was sitting in the driver seat. After the Zette calmed down, I told her that you were the owner of her older sister. Everything was fine after that.... CZ
  10. That really pisses me off. I went to Carrollton near Dallas once in broad daylight and went into the mangers office at an apartment complex for like 3 minutes. The building had big glass windows and all. When I come back out someone had ripped my CB right out of the dash in seconds. I didnt have a clue. This out of my 74 Z ZLine. There were alot of ilegals walking around prior so Im sure it was one of them. Thats why I now will live in the country. I hate fricken thieves...
  11. Man I wish I knew who you were and I wouldve stopped. Thanks for the compliments but I do need a serious paint job when I get back. This one just makes sure the rust doesnt eat it up. Im waiting on the rear disk package from Ross and I just sent him my flanges for the CV upgrade too. After that all I have is paint. Im still waiting on the rollbar...maybe this weekend. If your still here, maybe we can go for a ride. OOOPS no seat belt on the right side yet....oh well.. Terry
  12. Clint, I tried to call the number but it says it is not in service Hey my home number is 632-3865 and work is 645-8314. My cell is 090-6861-4325. Call me and I can meet you. I pretty much can get off anytime since I am retiring next month!!! Give me a ring..... CZ
  13. Mike theres money falling out of the sky when your working with a respected name like ULC. I have been trained by the Marine Corps and everyone wants me because Im already trained. Ive been to Federal testing labs and manufacturer site visits etc and this company wins hands down. The CEO was the Entrepreneur of the year last year as you can see on thier site. He is a class act as well. ALL of the workers there are always excited etc and it just seems like a Alice in Wonderland scene. As far as conflict of interest. I don't think so. Part time is part time and all I need is legitimate leads that want bids on furnishings. After I talk to them, the CEO will step in depending on the contract and when he comes to town everybody remembers. I would have liked to tbe the guy that landed Disney. 290 million X 3% = $8.7 million in the pocket. Well most of the deals range from $500,000 to 3 to 5 million or so, but when you get a few of those it creates momentum and free advertising as well as refferals. Let me know Mike as I am building a team across the states to take this thing over. Even though these guys are good, thier sales reps are afraid of the military.......man its wide open. Let me know how you want tp proceed and Ill work with you on it. If we ever come to your side of the woods we will meet and Ill introduce you to the CEO over dinner or something. By the way if your independent you don't have to worry about followup or anything like that. You will be registered as Independent and then get the 3% cut once the install is complete and the contract is paid. This will come from the company. Until next time!
  14. Ok, since we are on the subject of jobs, I have been offered a miracle as well. I have been the purchasing agent for the Marine Corps for the past three years spending over 15 million dollars for Whole Room furniture. I buy barracks furniture and lounge furniture for the quality of life upgrades of the military. Well I just got an offer to be the military rep for the entire U.S. representing University Loft Company. http://www.universityloft.com Well, they also cover Universitys, Hotels, developments, etc. They just closed a 290 million dollar deal at Disney. Well I am on salary plus 2% commission on all contracts. As we all know the govt has money to spend especially the military. I am told I can build a team around the nation as I please so heres the deal.... Anyone interested in sales to the govt or any other entity to include retail stores dealing with what the above website has to offer, let me know. I can guarentee you 3% of any contract you give me the lead on. You don't even have to close it, I will. I will be starting in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Louisianna hitting all the military bases to start. I will also have seperate vendors for bedding, drapery, and am currently looking for a good company that deals with Office furniture. My friend just retired and is working with ULC and he has already made over $200,000. This company is a class act as well and the potential is enormous. PLease if anyone has any contacts dealing with the purchase of these types of items, we need to talk. We can outbid anyone and provide unmatched service. During my job with the Marine Corps I got to see many other companies come and kiss my ass to get the business. I also got to see who was full of crap and who was not. ULC is the best in this business and every company needs furniture. My offer is open to anyone who wants to make some serious cash by setting up appointments for me in your area no matter where you are. Some hints for the military guys, All bases have a Regional Contracting Office, Base billeting, and Family Housing. These are usually the buyers and they are the ones you need to talk to. Developments are even a bigger deal. Of coarse we can talk more when I get back to the states. The offer stands forever, because I am gonna make mine anyway. I would love to help my fellow Zers get that extra cash you deserve by helping each other. Any takers just PM me and I will discuss my plan. I start Feb 2004 but can strategize now! Who do you know? Oh good find Mike!
  15. Yippee!!!! Ok, its too good to be true. I am on the way to the hobby shop Saturday morning to install my solid diff mount and tighten up the rear end bolts etc and a light green Skyline GTR R34 with an older Japanese guy pulls up beside me. He looks up and down my car and gives me the thumbs up. Out of respect I do the same to him. Theres no doubt that the GTR is a dream car. He proceeds and starts getting on it and backing down. I got a rush of adrenelene (sp) and waited for him to do it again. I got about two car lengths behind him and when he hit it again, so did I. When I punched it I immediately started gaining on him quick. Man I was about peeing my pants again from the excitement. He then let me in front and he stayed right on butt while we were driving. The next light we stopped and he was behind me. When the light turned green I took off slowly in 1st and then about 20MPH or so I floored it and so did he. I pulled on him in first and when I hit second I instantly plunged another 3 to 5 car lengths. Man this automatic is the bomb over here. No hestitation between shifts like the standards. When you shift it goes, no time lapse what so ever. After that he didnt come beside me or even get that close to me anymore. After that I decided to turn around and I honked the horn and waved. He gave me the thumbs up and went on. He was cool about it but probably in shock that a 30 year old Z that probably used to be his dream car beat him hands down. This Z is still very respected over here as it is an antique and one of the best cars Japan has ever made. Man its such a rush to see the great great great grandfather of Zs still kickin the baby's butt. I know I have a N/A V8, but he has a twin turbo RB26. No replacement for displacement baby! Just imagine what would happen if I put two T56 turbos on the ole Zette!!! I wonder what would happen..... That makes me 3 and 0!
  16. Oh for crying out loud!!!!!!
  17. By the way, is there a strictly V8Z club in Texas? Just wondering...
  18. John, your Z looks awesome....damn I wish you guys were here, we could start our own clan!!!
  19. I will be going to San Angelo Tx! Wall race way is 10 miles away!
  20. OK, I cant believe it but I was challenged twice while going to the auto hobby shop to install my roll cage. I put the temp tags on the ole corzette (considered an import because of the V8 thing) and proceed south to Camp Foster to install my rollcage at the auto hobby shop, when I hear a high revving WHOOOSH beside me. I am stopped at the red light and this Japanese guy and his soda drinking girlfriend (smiling) looks over and gives me the thumbs up and motions to me to race with thier hands. I rev my engine and the driver seem a little surprised as I am sure he never has heard the sound of perfection before. Just before the light tuns green A skyline GTR pulls up behind me and then a Hachi Roku and a turgboed Aristo (Lexus), dont know if it was built or not but sure was ricey. Anyway it seemed like they were a clan or something, you know like Boso Zoku or something. Anyway just before the light turned green the guy in the Soarer started revving the piss out out his engine in preparation. When the light tuned green I went for it....The car shot out like a champ, I got the notorious head snapping action and WHOOOSH I was gone!!!! I looked in my rear view and I saw the skyline GTR behind me about 100 feet. I stopped at the next light and the GTR pulls beside me. The soarer must have pulled off because I couldnt see him. The others were behind me. The GTR had tinted windows and then rolls down his window and motions to go on the light. There was light traffic where we were (near Kuwae if your familiar with Okinawa). He starts revving his twin turboed RB26 and when the light turned green we both nailed it. Well at first I thought the ole V8 import was in trouble because he got me off the line by about a 1/2 car length (damn 4 wheel drive), BUT when I hit second I immediately pulled a car and a half on him and then I hit third and I was gone, maybe 15 car lengths.... I was so excited I about peed my pants. I ran out of road soon and I was going over 100MPH (not a good thing on highway 58 ooops....The next light all the cars pull up and ask me to go to A&W. I go and park and all the Japanese guys want to see my engine. They were cool and in awe and one asks me "What kind of Turbo is that (pointing to my Holley 750 Double Pumper). I almost laughed but told him it was a carbeurator not a turbo. We talked for about an hour and they were cool about it. Oh I speak Japanese by the way. I am sure the GTR wasnt built to the max but it was fast off the line. Gotta love good ole American non turboed muscle though! For now I am 2 and 0 for racing here on the rock. The guys girlfriend was really smiling at me...
  21. Kevin, I have the R200 3.54 rear soon to be CV upgraded and rear disked. I drive it with temp tags over here about twice a month. I am still getting used to it and it scares me with excitement. I have nittos in the rear 275 50 15s so I really hook up well. So well the first time I got on it it broke my steel diff straps I had made. I now have the solid diff mount to take care of that. It feels like I am being shot out of a cannon. According to the numbers I should easily be in the 11s down the strip. I will find out soon as I am coming back to the states for good next month!!!! I am retiring from the corps! Cant wait to race in good ole Texas!!!! Im sure we will meet someday!!!! Texas rocks! Corzette
  22. Those tubes are for the Ram Air Box. I usually sport the Chrome Air Cleaner, but I have an Air Box I put on for racing! NOthing Like the slight boost of cold air!
